  1. Welcome to the LOC foxxracing! Well, I would start with seperating mods into 2 catagories. Show mods and go mods. Then just decide what you want more of first. If dollars are an issue, then just focus on one or the other and keep in mind, it's a build in progress. Take your time and you'll get there.
  2. Hey Altezza117, Thanks for the props! Welcome to the LOC! The 300 is going to be a track only car. Once you get up over I would say 600 whp, maintaining streetability starts to become an issue. I mean, yeah, you can, but why???? LOL!! Nothing like having to do 55 in a pack of traffic with 800+ whp on the ball of your foot! It's torcher when you know all you have to do is crack the throttle and all these jerks can become an instant distant memory. I'm really glad to hear you enjoyed reading the thread, it's those comments that made doing it worth it. I also had a Ford Explorer............600+ rwhp, dropping 1/4 miles in the 13's. One night at the track and guy came up and made me an offer I couldn't refuse. I have a video floating around here someplace. But your right, it's still an Explorer. So what are the plans so far? You already put the mods on that you listed above? Or is that the list of intentions?
  3. I use a touch of oil on my fingertip to allow everything to seat without pinching the seals. Other than that just try to be a bit more careful, but be firm the first time, don't try to over do it.
  4. That's hot! It looks like a Lexus ate a Bentley! Nice! And hey DC, the Digimon car you posted from the UK,,,,,that is Uber hot!!!! I really like that car. I could easily see me dropping turbos and toys in that thing late at night! very nice. Where did you find that? Is it only an illustration? In fact where the heck are you guys finding all these?
  5. Yeah man. But I had to give it up though. I'm in no way knocking on the rotory engine, especially the 2B motor. But when your pushing 700 whp, you need to have a few spare engines laying around as back ups. <_< It's a tuning nightmare! Here's some momentos from the 3 engines I popped in 2 years : So I put a new motor in, smaller turbo, tuned it down a bit and sold it before I blew motor number 4. And when I got waxed by a Supra later, I decided time to join in on the fun!
  6. Can you upload the picture to photobucket or some pictore storage site like that and then just post a link here?
  7. This looks like it could be Elmo's new friend! Or this car belongs to Grover for driving down Sesame street!

Then I'll try to remeber to stay off the sidewalks!! Life is just been moving along here.

    Hey!

Hey Indy, how you been? Glad to see you back.
  10. Let's not fault him to much, just think of the airlines and shipping companies, along with the auto shop that got all the extra business and made money off his arrogance. He can send that car to us for an oil change anytime! I would love to bill out $500.00 an hour for labor doing routine services! I say let them pump as much money as they can back into Europe and the US for a change!!! :)
  11. I would need a picture of the wiring harness you have in the IS 200 along with the wirring schematic, so I can figure out what the differences are. Does the IS 200 have a seperate amp?
  12. Good Job lenore! glad to hear that. Really. It amazes me how many people are afraid of things like that. I sorta wished you had taken and posted some before and after pics too.
  13. I have heard it's an issue with the phone's compatablities. I couldn't get my old phone to tranfer my phonebook data to my new phone either. And Sprint, who is my carrier, said they couldn't tranfer my Samsung phonebook data to my new Katana also! So when I got the Nav and it didn't work, I wasn't surprised.
  14. HHmmm, well, it's not a bad looking car. I have allways wanted Mazda to do a little better. I mean I guess I root for them. It's like they are allways the underdog. The RX-7 was simply a display of what they are capable of. I owned one for a few years and loved it! Pics: And I had a Mazda B2300 small truck that ran 174k miles without a single issue. I agree however that they aren't the quality level of a Lexus for certian. And NC made good points about being able to get away with more and a few thing being acceptable on the smaller cars, that on a larger family car would be just plain annoying!
  15. The Luxury package on the IS X50 does have the power adjust wheel, memory seats and rear shade.
  16. I would really like to know why these are not released for sale. That is a cool looking car! Drop in the 4.3 liter Tundra V8 in that with forged internals and a nicely massaged turbo, and you have the next corvette beater!!!
  17. It's the Metra TYTO 01 kit. And this is what you need to change: You see the yellow wire with the black stripe? Open the harness like this: And move that wire to the upper location like this: So all your wiring should look like this:
  18. I like this car. But it sort of looks like a future version of a Honda S2000 doesn't it?
  19. I absolutely love that color!! One of my top 5 all time favorite cars is that color. Not the copper though. But the ISF is I think one of the easiest to live with luxo sport cars to come out. I drove that car hard on the track at Moroso Speedway and the transmission in that car is amazing!
  20. ^^^^^^ HHmmmm, I wonder why they are soo cheap now? Have you cosidered and IS 300? maybe save a few more bucks? Personnaly I thought the back seat room was fine, and a ton of fun to drive.
  21. Extended warrentees are a such a trick purchase. You really have to know what questions to ask, and most of the time the person selling it has no clue. I think I would call the Lexus dealership you think you would like to take the car to for regular services and ask them about an extended warrentees and what they recommend and who they like to use and why. That way you don't have any "approval" issues and coverage problems as they work with their warrentee companies on a regular basis. Let me give you some examples of how some of these "extended warrentees" can screw you. Let's say you take the car in and they "hear" a problem in the motor. First, the warrentee may not cover "exploratory diagnostics". So you will have to pay out of pocket to find out what the problem is. Then let's say that they find the problem and it is a covered part, like a flywheel. Well, Lexus may charge 1800 bucks for the flywheel, but the warrentee payout for that part might be only 1200. So, you'll have to pay the difference. Also, most policies only cover up to a dollar amount per hour for labor. Lexus charges considerably more than that. Again, you'll have to pay the difference. It's not like an origainal Mfgr warrentee no matter how they play with the words to make you feel like it is. Everystep is a fight with them.
  22. Welcome to the LOC! Get the ones that snap in the window channel. THe ones with tape look dumb, as you can see the tape thru the smoked plastic after a bit. And if you ever decide to take them off, they just snap right back out again, instead of using a bunch of chemicals to remove the tape and goopy stuff left behind. Have you looked at our vendor list right above your post? I would start there. You can use the <> buttons to scroll thru our vendors.
  23. I have the 08 IS 350, so I'm not exactly sure as to the specific differences at this point, although I am sure it's probably not many. I think the Vaistech is a much better unit than the one Lexus is offerring. If you look at the Ipod interface that Lexus has, it uses and replaces the the satelite radio input, so you actually have to give up Sirrus or XFM to have the interface, whereas the Vaitech you don't. Also with the Vaitech unit you can play movies from your ipod on your nav screen, even while in motion. ( illegal, but cool.) Oh, sorry, just reread your post, you don't have the nav option. But in any case I think the Vaitech is better.
  24. Man I sure hope Lexus goes in this direction. They have the best looking concept cars in the line up I think. Another very cool looking idea. Almost Ferrari (ish) in the tail section, but yet very Lexus for the front. I really like the no grill look.
  25. wasn't this one supposed to replace the Supra? I know the LFA and the Supra were looking alot alike at one time, but the LFA now looks different, and I thought the Supra became this?
