  1. The simplest way is to drive to a parking lot, come to a stop, romp on the gas and do a quick burn out. Then look at the marks, 1 black line, no LSD, 2 black lines, LSD.
  2. Yeah man, if you have a 600+ rwhp 92 LS we need to see it!
  3. Peektures.........Videeeeoooo??????
  4. Yeah, that's what I have seen also so far. In fact, new sideview mirrors with the turn signals in them are already available as OEM aftermarket upgrades for the 06-08 models.
  5. the biggest issue here isn't installing the remote starter. The issue is once someone breaks into the car, all they have to do is push the button and start the car. There's no key requirement to stop them at that point, and in order to have the remote starter, you would have to have the security functions overridden.
  6. Welcome to the LOC! It sounds like the speed sensors on your front wheels may have been disconnected, or broken. They are really sensative.
  7. I never really understood what my dad meant when he would refer to the Cuban Missle Crisis until 9/11 happened. Now I know what he means when he said I remember that day so clearly. I had just opened the doors for business. Because I would often work late, I had a TV in my office so I could watch the news and sports in the evenings. I was on the phone with one of my vendors and the radio was playing in my office in the background. Dave Mathews was on. What caught my attention was the radio personality cut in half way thru the song and announced a plane had just hit one of the towers of the World Trade Center. My first thought was how in the heck could some idiot pilot run into a building that size? So my mind started playing different sceniarios like the plane must have mechanically failed, could fog get that bad in NY to where he wasn't able to see? I wondered if it was a small plane if it was a Piper or a more like a Leer Jet. The phone conversation ended. So I was able to devote more attention to the report on the radio when I heard commercial airliner.........my mind froze........how could this have happened? I reached for the remote, clicked the power button, and as the screen went from graphite black to an image of the tower with a plume of smoke and fire casting a shadow on the city below, I was dazed and speechless. As the reporter reviewed the facts on hand, I could easily hear the shock I was feeling in his voice. All I could think about were the people on board, and the people in the building. How do you fight a fire like that so high up in a building? And as I was watching, the second plane came into the screen and struck the other tower. My heart dropped, I was completely stunned. I gathered up my other employees, informed them of what was happening and we watched together........absolutely silent. the only sound I remember hearing for the next couple of hours was the reporters on the TV. As we learned about the possiblity of other planes being hijacked and the the attack on the Pentagon, I closed the shop up, sent everyone home, and watched hopelessly glued to the TV in utter shock as the towers collapsed. I could only think of the lives that had just been lost. I have never had such a heavy heart as that moment brought. To this day I still can't understand why they did what they did. Maybe I refuse to. Maybe I don't understand why 7 years later we are still not able to close the door on this chapter. Why we haven't been served the justice it so deserves. In my mind, it is truly one of the most darkest days in human history.
  8. Are you saying that the car won't reach redline? That it only goes up to about 2500 rpm's? Your parking brake isn't slightly on is it? Have you checked the air intake? and the air filter? That Corolla didn't have turbo on it did it? LOL!!!
  9. I'm not really sure how much of a difference your talking about here. There may have been some ethanol blend differences from MD to OH, which can be noticable. If the ECU has made adjustments in timing it may take a few tanks for the ECU to readjust. If you don't mind losing some of your settings and radio presets, and you want to expedite things, you can try disconnecting the negative battery terminal for about 10-15 minutes, and then reconnect it and see if that fixes it. It's very possible that the car has just read a different driving habit and is now in more of a fuel saving mode, then when your throttling around in MD and needing more power, and has nothing to do with the fuel blend issues as well.
  10. Potbelly
  11. Oh, I heard the yellow ones are the fastest!! But if you want alot of low end torque, mix the green ones with the yellow ones. I'm not really sure what the exact ratio is , like 4 green and 6 yellow. But you have to be careful, I've heard of people snapping their face off and dying while loading them.
  12. Thanks 2D! I would think you would have to increase the counter weight substantially if you decide to stack those!!
  13. Hello, welcome to the LOC. Nice wheels there. Did you have them powder coated? or are they base/clear? Can we get a close up shot of them? From a short distance they look good. How long have you had them on? We have another member here who just had his rims done. Flop 170's came out really nice also.
  14. Have you looked into this yet? I mean talked to the installers? I don't think you can with this car. I haven't really looked into it yet, but the keyless start has some security features that would have to be overridden, like the foot being on the brake pedal to allow the start function, along with the perimeter sensor needing the key fob to ok the ignition, and so on. And I know anything can be done with enouph money, but then, why would you want to spend all that money for installation and blow the warrentee and lose your security system, just to have remote start? Seems like alot of sacrifice for that.
  15. The bookmark isn't working. I wanna see!!!
  16. Ah HAH!!! I knew it!! :) The truth comes out! Ok, well now it makes alot more sense. He may have taken the valve cover off and reused the same gasket which may be why your having this issue now. Who knows what he was tinkering with under the hood. well, atleast so far this is all the problem was. Can you take a picture of the car and the engine and post them here so we can get a good look? The car sounds pretty nice! And the IS 300 is just really a very nice car on so many levels. And we're glad you like it here too. ;)
  17. I think this has been discussed before, but it's not an easy switch like you might think. The dealer would have to do it and it requires ECU work also.
  18. Who me?
  19. I would call and just ask for the operator, and get his schedule. Pick a day that he is there and you can go down there and face to face talk with him. And talk alot about his golf game. Ask him how he did. What clubs does he play with, and what's his handicap. Make nice with him. Then ask about the key. Then ask him somemore about his golf game and where does he like to play, and does he practice alot? Then ask for the manager if he doesn't produce the key, Or gives you some more run around about it. Keep talking about his golf game. Especially when his manager shows up. Ask his manager if he plays golf with him. And if he even likes to play golf also. And then make sure you mention to his manager that "OH!, I thought the golf game must be really attention focusing and important here, because several times you called ?XXX? he was about to tee off for his golf game and seems to forget that I even called. So I thought I would come down and catch him before his next round of golf so I can get this key thing settled." :) And then keep talking about golf. What kind of ball do you like to hit? I heard Pro V1's are really nice. And smile the whole time, be polite, don't lose your cool, but keep talking about golf, and the key. I promise, he will really want to focus on the key issue and not so much the golf thing. But don't let it go.
  20. Yeah, I guess it's alright. But my question is how did you blow a valve cover gasket? That just sounds out of place. I don't think I have ever seen this as an issue on the 2JZ motors unless they did alot of modding on them. I'm not saying it's impossible or not the problem here, it's just not a normal issue at all with these motors.
  21. And how much hp at the rear wheels are you pushing now? I'm going to move this to the LS forum. I think that this will get more attention there.
  22. Your running high 10's with bolt ons and a puter? Yeah, I need to see this car you have. Why are you even running a stock ECU? If you want full control then just go to a stand alone. Pre ODB II systems are cheap! And you have to have more done to the car than what you have listed so far. What are your 60' and 1/8th times?
  23. Which gasket is he changing?
  24. 8.5 seconds is extremely ambitious for a 91 LS! What times are you running now?
  25. TSB stands for Technical Service Bulletin. or TSIB which is Technical Service Information Bulletin. Both are the same. Building a car is a very complex process. So it's inevitable that there are some small bugs to work out or adjust during the life of the model years. So to address these, car mfgr's post service bulletins for the dealers to fix if the issue becomes a concern to the customer. It's not a recall. But more of an acknowledgement by the mfgr. that alot of customers have this same issue.
