  1. GHL Motorsports and they replaced from the "axle back". And they removed the cats? Somethings not right here. Sorry. If they removed the cats, they put in more than an "axle back" exhaust system. The cats are way further up the line. And any even "semi" knowledgeable tech would know that you can't just delete the cats and put the 02 sensors back in and not throw a cel. The sensors before and after the cats read temp and nox gasses. That information goes right to the ECU and alters timing and a/f ratios to help compensate and maintain emmisions controls. Who is this GHL Motorsports place? Did they talk to you at all about this before they did the work?
  2. who put the new exhaust in? And how much of the exhaust was replaced? It sounds like you went from the headers back?
  3. the TC is the traction control system, it's telling you that the rear tires are breaking traction. You may need better tires, or a lighter foot, which is probably the issue from your description. As for the idle, it should be around 750 or so. 500 is a bit low. You may need some time to go thru and clean the MAF, check all the vacuume lines, and make sure the intake is clean. If that doesn't help, then I would have someone take a look at how the SRT was wired in and make sure it was done right.
  4. Well, maybe you could bring them some cookies and help them want to help you? ;)
  5. You have to have a leak somewhere. If you were burning 3 to 4 qt's every 250 miles, the plume of smoke behind you would be pretty noticable. You may have a bad oil sending unit seal, or oil pump seal. And Bartkat is right, putting your finger in the exhaust and finding carbon is not any indicator of burning oil. I noticed you also said you took it to Shell for an oil change? Have you checked the drain plug to make sure it was tight and the crush washer is sealed? Also look at the oil filter and make sure it's on tight. Just use your hands and turn it hard.
  6. The U.S. version is almost the exact opposite of the one you have there. See how the CD plaeyer in between the knobs and the screen is below that and the cassette player is all the way to the bottom?
  7. Ok, let's start with this first: Is this the radio your putting in or took out? I hope it's the radio you took out. Because that's not an american version IS 300 head unit. That looks like an Altezza radio. Next, this picture: The color code operations is: Cyan/Yellow = Constant 12v power Grey = Ignition Green = Illumination Blue/white = Power antennea Brown = Ground Lt. Green + / Lt. Blue - = Right speaker purple + / pink - = Left speaker red + / white - = Right rear speaker ( The high, not the woofer) black + / Yellow - = Left rear speaker (The high not the woofer) If you indeed have the IS 300 version head unit, I can get you the plugs that fit into the head unit. Then you would just have to cut the harnesses you have off and splice them into the correct socket of the US version harness.
  8. Heres the link. Just go to the last post. I took pictures of the paperwork. Maybe you could print them and take them in with you so they have the codes and part numbers. Brake pad TSB service
  9. I have an 08 Is 350 and they did the TSB on mine without question or hesitation. And the new brake pads much better. I have the paperwork. In fact I already posted it on another thread. I'll find it and link it here for ya.
  10. Nice ride you have there! The Honda looks great! The forged internals and turbo set up looks great! Have you thought about adding an 02/meth spray? Your set up should hold that easily. Have you done any drivetrain work? Nice job.
  11. I have a used install kit if you need. I used V8 post clamp and inline fuse. Then ran it along the firewall just under the windshield line and covered it with black leech. Then ran the power line thru the same hole most of the other cables and wires go in, I just made the opening a little larger in the rubber gromet they originally used from the factory. Then I slid the wires behind the console next to the gas pedal, and ran the power feed under the carpet all the way back to the trunk where I mounted the 2 Alpine Vpower amps on the back seat wall. You'll need to remove the passenger seat, and the back seat so you can run all the wires cleanly and make sure you don't have any kinks or cut areas.
  12. Yeah, this has to be a finish defect. I'm sure they will just replace the hood. It's cheaper than the labor restoring the original one. And they have to warrentee the work afterwards.
  13. What set up are you going with? I used the JL Audio cables and inline fuses, worked great and no issues.
  14. Loooocking Gooood main!
  15. Sorry for the late reply, but I would say the install was about a 4 on the IS 350. I didn't have to remove any bumpers though. It went in pretty clean.
  16. If I saw the car first, I would have never put that RX as having done that. The headlights weren't even damaged! And the estimate you qouted is mostly the front bumper and repaint!
  17. Yeah, I'm on board with it. There could also be alot of interior changes to go with it. But I think the 10' looked nice. Why abandon a great design such as the RX's?
  18. what?! Can you post the number you called ? Then we can call it to find out for ourselves as well? I've never heard of this, but anything is possible.
  19. Here's a link: Vais Tech
  20. The Lexus OEM ipod interface kit does replace either the Xfm or Sirrius sat. inputs. So you lose out on sat radio, but Vais tech has one out that installs just as easy, and will also allow you to keep sat radio, and can play movies from your ipod on your nav screen! That's the one to get.
  21. Maybe post it in the How to's at the top. Or I could just post the link to it.
  22. I have a pictoral of the Avic D3 in my IS 300. It's awsome!! ( BTW, I have an extra back up camera for sale if anyone is interested.) Modifying the IS 300 Chronicles of a Dream Ride
  23. Yeah, they do reprogram the ECU, but the car still has to be taken into the dealership, the keys they sell are about 200-300 each depending on the place, and then the charge for the ECU reprogramming, still comes out to way more money then anyone ever wants to spend.
