  1. 950? Does that dealership require the sales people to wear a mask and carry guns too? That's stupid! $250 is actually a pretty good deal if they are using the factory unit. New they sell for 200 bucks, so 50 for the install is perfect. I bought mine for 150 and installed it myself. It's plug and play. On the back of the unit is an input for the sat radio. It took me about 30 minutes beginning to end.
  2. G37 1/4 mile is 13.9 and the Lexus IS350 is 13.1 that's a pretty big gap on the finish line.
  3. Interesting, I just watched the "road test" for the Genesis Coupe, and ( smiling as I type this), by all accounts from the numbers they report, the IS 350 with 4 doors and larger wheel base is still faster than the Genesis Coupe in both a straight line and on the track, and has a shorter stopping distance. So, as of right now, the way I see it, Lexus came out with the IS 350, BMW and Infinity both went back for redesigns, BMW came out the the new 335 which is a tick faster than the IS 350, but costs 15-20K more, the G35 turned G37 still not faster, and now the Hyundai couldn't do it either. And Lexus has the smallest V6 now as everyone else has had to go with the 3.7 liter. I don't mention Acura as they don't seem to have a real dog in this fight. The TL has seemingly gone in another direction.
  4. No I'm looking for the oxygen sensor on the back side of the engine. I'm pretty sure you can get the 02 sensors from there also. Just make sure where ever you get them from you get Denso's.
  5. Some of this doesn't make any sense to me. You say you changed the plugs and the oil is no longer an issue? I don't see how one has anything to do with the other. As for the lag in the throttle, does the "super computer" data log? How much and what information are you able to look at?
  6. An 02 with 28K miles? Hmmm, I would do a full car inspection. If theres no accidents, and maintenance records, then it's an awsome deal. But I have a feeling theres more to this.
  7. The relentless pursuit of perfection. :)
  8. 94 huh? Hmmm, might wanna look at a 1JZ swap instead. Alot cheaper, better fit, and just as much possiblities without the 2GTE hassles.
  9. I see Volk Racing rims on Lexus's all the time.
  10. Here they use Castrol. But you can use any 5w30 brand oil. I use Amsoil, alot of people like Mobil 1. I do reccommend using Toyota oil filters though. They really are a very good oil filter. I buy them 3 or 4 at a time from to save a few more bucks. Changing the oil in the IS350 takes me 17 minutes, start to finish. (I kind of cheat though, I have an oil pump that draws the oil from the pan, so I don't have to crawl under the car to drain it.
  11. Oh, I know people have, they just haven't posted it here.
  12. Hmm, those are emmissions codes. If I remember right, those usually lead to the gas cap, or ventalation canister for the fuel tank. Try removong your gas cap, then put your cap on the opening, trun it counter clockwise until you feel the lowest point, then turn it clock wise until it clicks 3 or 4 times. See if that takes care of the cel.
  13. Never tried it. Take it in to an aftermarket audio shop and I'm sure they can do it. Depends on how much you want to spend on it I suppose.
  14. Welcome to the LOC. I see you have been finding your way around.
  15. Is it out of freon? The ac system is a closed system. If it's low or out of freon, you have a leak and you need to have that fixed first. Just putting in more freon won't solve that.
  16. It depends on why the cel went off in the first place. I'm not a big fan of just ressetting the ECU when the cel goes off, as it also erases the event log, which the techs can look at to determine if there is really a problem, or if a sensor just needs to be cleaned or replaced. If the cel comes back,( the warning light comes back on), I would atleast try to have the car scanned first and find out what code the car is throwing. That code will tell you what the problem is. Then you can make decisions on what to do next from there.
  17. No, it doesn't void any warrentee. I did mine in red, and I wouldn't change it for anything. I love it. Flop has the Smoke Granite IS also, and he did his in red and it looks fantastic. So I wouldn't just discount that color combo. But ultimately, I think it's all personal preference. I've seen Lime green that looked great, Yellow, Red, Blue, White, Black, Chromed, machine finished. I've also seen that dayglow yellow color. (Looked great!) They all looked awsome. I almost think this is one of the most visually impacting mods you can do for under 50 bucks, (besides washing your car).
  18. Were you able to track down the first rattle? Maybe get a buddy to sit in the back seat while you reproduce the rattle so they can locate where it's coming from exactly so your not padding the wrong elements, and making other things rattle.
  19. Yeah, it's a PIA to get that speaker out, but I've had worse on other cars. I was originally going to just replace this speaker with a more powerful better frequency range sub, but it looks like you have about a 3 inch clearance in there, and I couldn't find what I thought to be a good replacement that would fit in there. So I went with a sub enclosure in the trunk instead. I'm pretty happy with the sound I have now. The midrange range speakers really image well at higher volume levels now that they don't have to do bass duty as well anymore.
  20. Nice job. Who did the roll job?
  21. I'm not aware of any ignition/fuel mapping changes in the ECU by Lexus. So, it sounds to me like maybe you have 2 or 3 conditions coming together to cause that sound. One might be that the new exhaust may have a slight air leak somewhere. Probably right at the connection behind the axle. That, combined with the Vvti adjusting right at that rev point as the transmission downshifts may be the reason your getting that. Not to mention the HKS flows a bit freer. But it should sound more like a low gurgling, than a sudden soft popping sound. In any case it doesn't sound like anything to be concerned over. You might want to mention it to them the next time you go in for service and maybe they can take a closer look a the installation of the exhaust to make sure it was done right.
  22. I'm so disappointed with that finish. Come on!, Dumb and Dumber in the 725 hp Mustang is the winner??!! Well, atleast Avalanche didn't win either. Have the networks committed to another season? If I was the network, I would write a clause in there that the participants absolutely must know how to frickin drive! But on a good note, the format is getting better. I do like the race legs and challenges better this year.
  23. How many miles and how long have you had it? Is this happening under normal driving or after you have been "somewhat aggressive ."
  24. Thanks. The rims are by Work. 2 peice forged aluminum, machined face and polished lip. And the sizes are staggered 19's, 8.5 in the front and 9.5 in the rear.
