If you want to see someone who just does what he's told and not what he believes look at Mitt Romney, what a sell out he is. Iv'e been watching the candidates this year more so than in the past. I guess because I feel somewhat responsible (for my role or lack thereof) for the Bush election. While again, I think ALL the candidates so far are like choosing between the firing squad, hanging, or lethal injection, something in my gut just says that Fred Thompson is more sincere and honest. I don't know that I subscribe to the theroy that the quantity of work is in anyway alternative to quality work. I mean come on, if each president could just accomplish 1 or 2 major social economic tasks that face this nation, how much better off we would be. While I agree that Mitt Romney is a waste of stage space, I was very surprised by Mike Huckabee. He speaks and debates very well. I think he lacks support and money though. And I think his last name just would never let him win. LOL!!!! President Huckabee? And his sidekick VP. Bubba Mcullough. LOL!! I am in complete agreement with SWO3ES. Never let the dealer or anyone else for that matter detail, wash or wax your car. Especially the dealer!!! They use the same grimey towel on dozens of cars, hire the cheapest labor they can, and use the most generic cleaning chemicals on cars. I emphatically request everytime I visit the dealer, DO NOT CLEAN THE OUTSIDE OR INSIDE OF MY CAR. I would assertively and persistantly request that they just replace the rims. If they say there is nothing wrong with them, then they shouldn't have any problem with swapping them for another set off the lot then.

Yes, the clicking sound you hear is normal. Even BMW's make that clicking sound. As for the "va-voom" sound,,,,LOL!!! I guess my imagination just isn't quite that good. But I can tell you that brake rotors are really susceptible to rust and bedris very quickly. So as the car first begins to move, the brake pads are actually cleaning the surface of the rotors off. That can sometimes sound rough. The ABS solenoid valve is a closed system. The only point of discharge sits just under the main spring and valve seat to allow the pressure to drop within the system, thereby reducing brake pressure. If your ABS system is discharging, while backing down the driveway, you have a very serious ABS malfunction and need to stop driving that car right away!!! LOL!!!!!

Yes it's possible to go to 18'' rims without changing the outside diameter of the tire. And 18x8's will work just fine. The stock specs for your rims are 42 mm offsets, with a 5 bolt 114 mm pattern, or 5x4.5. If you go to 18x8's the offset will change to 40 mm and the tire size will be 215/40-18. If you go http://www.tirerack.com/index.jsp you can enter you car onfo. Then if you look at the task bar about a quarter of the way down you will see ( change veiw) and click on the car symbol. This will put an image of your car on the screen and then you select different rims and see what they look like on your car. They even have a color selector so you can make the car the same color as yours. As you browse, you'll also notice that they have all the specs and info you will need. Not to mention that if you go to a reputable tire store, they will have all the info you need on hand. Like say a Discount Tire or Tire Kingdom. I'm not sure they have those in NY or not, but you get the point.

It could be a couple of things that come to mind. One is the Harmonic balanced flywheel is off, or you may have an unbalanced drive shaft. I don't know what they would have done to it at the service to effect these parts though. But if you say the vibration is happening at idle, then it has to be on of those. If you feel it in the steering wheel, it could be a loose motor mount, or a mount that is going bad.

One of the issues with safe tuning from the factory is what you are experiencing here. Toyota allways tunes a little too rich on the A/F mix. Which alone causes a little lower gas mileage. But it also clogs up and dirties the 02 sensors faster. Which as they get dirty, don't read as well, and tell the ECU to make it even richer. I can pretty much go to the exhaust, let someone start it, and smell the fuel in the exhaust coming out. The reason Brostydog saw an increase in fuel mileage was because he increased the air flow which is probably offsetting the fuel mixture. ( Although I have to admit that his results seems on the high side.) Make sure all your 02 sensors are working properly. As a bad sensor can be sending the wrong info to the ECU. If they all work then, after taking out your 02 sensors, clean them with wd 40 and then electronic parts cleaner. ( It removes all the residues.) then put them back in. Then unplug the negative battery terminal for about a half an hour. (that will reset the ECU.) You should see a nice improvement in fuel mileage. One other thing to remember, is that the ECU "learns" your driving habits. So, what you may feel to be "easy" driving in one area, may be offset by a habit somewhere else in how you drive. In which case, an ECU reset will help out with again as it restores all the settings back to factory.

I don't think it's the valve seals. While I agree that they are one of the nuisances of the toyo motors, typically in the past when I see this problem, it's more of a regular issue, and not just a once in while puff of smoke. I think you may need to clean your intake and engine breather tube. The breather tube can pull oil from the block as it relieves the pressure from the crank case, and it may be getting in the intake and that is what I think your seeing burn when you first start the engine. So, on the intake tube, you should see a rubber hose that connects to it. Pull that hose off and wipe it with your finger. It should have some residue on it, but if you notice that you also wipe oil from it, then take the hose completely off, and clean it out with some parts cleaner, or wd 40. Just stick the red straw nozzle in it and see if you can blast it all out of there. Then pull the intake tube off and clean that out. reassemble it and give it a day or 2 and see if that clears up the smoke issue.

I just bought the Medalion Touring for my IS 300. I have worked with alot of exhaust systems in the past. The major difference between the Hyper and the Touring is the Touring is a lighter exhaust system, and uses the new Edvantex internals that allow high flow, and still be able to put out a very deep, but quiet tone. I also think the finish on the Touring is nicer and the flare tip exhaust is a very nice touch. The Hyper is slightly louder, but not by much, slightly heavier, but I think still 30% lighter than stock. Tenabe exhaust sytems on a whole are very nice systems though. If your looking for a "mature" deep note that isn't to loud, then your going the right way. If you just want a full flow, loud pipe, then the HKS Dragger series are nice , and Megan puts out a full race pipe including the header that will definitely help you see some HP gains.

Could be a fuel supply issue, more than likely, fuel pump, or filter clog.

Wait, sorry, I just noticed the year of your car. It's pre- ODB2. You will have to take it in. Your local mechanic should be able to handle it. The sensor costs around 70 bucks. It's not to hard to replace.
