  1. Go to Ebay, it is one of the best sources for brake rotors! Good Luck!
  2. Are you getting the little radiator symbol on the dash? Is the thermostat opening? When the guage does to redline, check the top radiator hose to see if it is hot and is it firm as if it is circulating water. If it is overheating, then you will get some overflow from the radiator cap as the pressure releases through the cap. Good Luck!
  3. Check www.autoleather.com They sell complete upholstery kits for the SC. They also, periodically, list a kit on ebay. Check out ebay listing # 7948853905. You may contact them about only one cover, but I don't think they sell them this way. Good Luck!
  4. Does anyone know if there is a Urethane front bumper cover made. All the body kits seem to be fiberglass. These seem to be very susceptible to damage. Thanks,
  5. SW03ES, Are you saying that the paint does not have to be striped? Would not the spider cracks in the old paint transfer to the new paint if the bumper takes a light bump? Thanks,
  6. If this isn't a new car, where did it come from. You might do a carfax check and make sure it was not a Texas flood car. There were many floods in South Texas this past summer and many of these cars made it North and tried to sell them off as local cars. Check were the car was originally registered. Good Luck!
  7. I take my soiled shop towels and cleaning towels and mitts to a local coin laundry and sort them by level of soil and keep the shop and detail towels separate and get a much better cleaning job in the industrial tumble washers and not get any of this residue in my personal washer and do not have to watch it walk across the floor. Good Luck!
  8. My SC400 has spider web cracks in the paint on the front bumper were it seems that the bumper has bumped into something and flexed the paint so that it cracks in a spider web pattern. Can this be safely repainted and the cracks not come back through the new paint, or does the bumper have to be completely striped and then repainted? If it has to be striped, what is the best way to strip the paint without damaging the Urethane surface of the bumper cover? Thanks,
  9. Did they put the car upon a Rack and turn the steering to see if they could find the source of the problem? Check the a-arms and see if there is some binding in the actual steering and not the rack and pump. There could be something mechanical that is causing the pump and rack problems. Don't assume that the resulting problem is the source. Good Luck!
  10. There is no such thing as an iffy fuse. A fuse only passes current up to a certain amp load and then it blows. If the fuse is not blown, it is good. I feel that you solved your problem by cleaning your connections. This problem is caused by a poor circuit, most likely the ground. It can be at the battery or at the other end of the connection. Spraying anti-corrosion only works effectively after you have cleaned the connections. I only wanted to clarify so that others wouldn't think that you had to replace high-dollar fuses to solve this problem. Good Luck!
  11. Does anyone have a wiring schematic of the plugs on the back of the Head Unit? Thanks!
  12. Shifter problem! Below the leather there is a plastic sleeve, slide this down to expose the philips head screw. Remove this and the shifter handle will slide up and off. You should then be able to see what is causing the problem. Cheers! Bandit
  13. No, but this may be a great option with all the problems people have with the stock cd changer, skipping, loading problems, etc. I am using a cassette adapter as it gives the best quality sound. The FM units are garbage. This would be a great upgrade. I'll take a look as I have an extra head unit that I may experiment with.
  14. Does anyone know where the fuse for the Cigarette Lighter is located? I hooked up a heated and vibrating seat pad and shot the fuse instantly. Thanks,
  15. Can you remove the VHT coating and then redo them with the G2? Or can you apply the G2 over the VHT?
  16. Has anyone had any experience with the full body kits that are selling on ebay? They seem awful cheap. Are they durable and do they fit correctly? THanks,
  17. If you are talking about the crack that appears where the pull handle attachs to the door panel, this is another common problem. The molded panel and attachment points to the door were not strong enough to handle the heavy weight SC doors. The plastic cracks and now there is some movement in the door panel when you pull the door shut. This is very common to the drivers door as it is used more. To fix this, you must remove the door panel and reinforce the cracks with epoxy. I also fabricated a sheetmetal brace to reinforce this area. You will understand what I am talking about when you remove the door panel and look at the inside and see the cracks. Hope this helps!
  18. Do the 97 and up bumper covers, side skirts, headlights and taillights interchange with the 93 SC400? Thanks,
  19. If it not a Coolant leak, then it is possibly rain entering the engine compartment. The Undertrays were notorious for coming loose and sagging and many owners removed them. This tray diverts water and road debris from entering the engine compartment. Check and see if this is still in place. If you look straight down through the engine compartment, behind the radiator, you should not be able to see the ground.
  20. I think SAM is refering to force induction of the SC400. There is a kit from Australia that is about $5,000 that increased HP by about 30%. That's 350 HP.
  21. Has anyone removed their wood trim and had it refinished. The trim in my SC400 is faded slightly above the glove box and the drivers door. Is there anyone that can refinish this back to a factory new appearance. Thanks,
  22. Depending on the condition, it should be in the 7-10 grand range. What type of mileage, city/highway? If it has been taken care of and all scheduled maintenance and replacements (fluids, belts, etc.) have been done, then it should last for 50-100,000 more miles. I have an 93 SC400 with 194,000 miles. Its compression is within 5% of new. I've replaced most of the electrical components just as a preventative measure. I've mechanically gone through the car and replaced many components, such as , fuel filter, rotors, shocks, springs, brake fluid, rearend oil and brake lines. The good part of this is that while the car is new to you, it gives you things to do to it that will keep it reliable. I would not hesitate to take off on a 1,000 mile trip. It gets better gas mileage than my 01 Frontier SC. Enjoy!
  23. Actually, the rear seat comes out very easily. Reach in under the front lip of the bottom and pull up sharply. It just snaps in. Then remove the four bolts along the bottom holding the back. Lift the back up and out and its done. The fronts are like any other car, they are bolted to the rails. Be sure to unplug all the wiring connectors before taking the fronts out. The seats have covers and some of the covers are attached with Hog Rings. Once the hog rings are unhooked, the covers slip off. Slide on the new covers and re-attach with the hog rings. Some portions are attached under covers. But you should see all of this. The hardest part is getting the covers on and stretched tight so there are no bulked up seams. Good Luck!
  24. The Eibach's will lower the ride 3/4 to 1". The ride is more determined by the Shocks. I used Tokico's and am not very satisfied with the ride. On the highway, it is smooth, but on rough roads, it is a little harsh. I may try to use OEM shocks as the lowered ride height is determined by the springs.
