  1. He means he wired the V1 power up directly to a "internal" power source from the car instead of having to plug into an external power source like the cig lighter. :)
  2. The only reasons (in general) you may need spacers are: 1. You have a BBK and you need to clear the calipers 2. You want to push the wheels more flushed with the fenders.
  3. Sorry to hear about the troubles. I guess you won't be needing to deal with getting the HREs anytime soon. :( Good luck with getting this resolved.
  4. Although not the most aggressive offsets, they will fit the GS. The 265/30 should work fine for the rear too although 275/30 would bea better size. If you are keeping the 265, a matching front size would be 235/35. If you can stand for the front to be slightly larger diameter, 245/35 would work best.
  5. Yes. You just won't have the green tint.
  6. ← I don't think ML availability was ever a question. It will just be not available in the first batch coming to the dealers. After that (or via custom order), ML will be here.
  7. Opinion on what? How good it is? (It is great for an OEM system. :)) The omission in the first run? (It is too bad but no amount of griping or discussion will change the situation. If you want ML, then pretend the release is actually Spring 06 and just ignore the ones coming out soon. ;) :D)
  8. Bren, you're kidding, right? Directional tires don't come in left and right versions. However, the tire guy has to pay close attention to arrows on the side wall. jbarhorst2 is correct, they just have to unmount it, flip the rim over and remount it. ← Unless they are directional and asymmetric. ;) One of my friends has a set like this and rotating/flipping is out of the question.
  9. If you currently have HIDs, you need to get new HID housings. The internals are different.
  10. Yes they should. It has been done. :) As for specs, I believe they are 18x8 with +45 offset.
  11. Sorry about that. I sent you email.
  12. any numbers or help you can give me would be great. no one knows anything about my car. i know i wanna go as big as i can without damaging the rims or the car. i dont know jack about rims. dont know what offset is or anything like that. i am in extreme need of help!!! thankss ← Check your PM. BTW - I am not trying to hide numbers. I just have some personal questions for him. ;) :D
  13. It depends on your power goals, labor plans (shop or DIY), and experience. You have a turbo civic. Did you do the work or was it a shop? You can probably squeeze out a setup for 5k by saving costs here and there, especially with labor. If you want a custom built, clean setup from a (hopefully) knowledgeable/reputable shop, you are probably looking more at 8k - 15k. The tuning will be more difficult because of the learning aspects of the engine ECU on the Lexus. Good luck.
  14. Don't get overly excited guys. He is entitled to his opinion. As long as you enjoy the wheels on your car, does it really matter what one other person think? 06gs430, have you decided on the width you want to run? 8.5 front, 10 rear? 9 front 10 rear? 9 front 10.5 rear? Even more aggressive? I am assuming staggered fronts and rear because that is the only way to be flushed both front and rear (without using spacers). Your setup will be interesting since there has not been enough data for a 3GS. I can give you some numbers (based on your chosen widths) for a 2GS and you can extrapolate.
  15. Contact Todd over at TM Engineering. FYI - There is a big CA meet this weekend that he is attending/preparing for so you may not get a response until next week.
  16. Talk to dcfish if you want an OEM solution for MUCH less than $14k. :) Otherwise, look into Eclipse (OEM for Lexus), Pioneer, and Kenwood. They all have flush mount all in one double din nav units.
  17. :o Man, 940R series? To much bank for me. :o :D I think they will look nice. As for sizing, how aggressive do you want it to look? Do you plan to mod the fenders? Or do you just want to be as aggressive as you can be bolt-on?
  18. I would go with the Borla tips. They should be about $100 for both.
  19. Sorry. No cigar. :(
  20. I think part of this would be the quality of the wheels too. nc, ROTFLMAO = rolling on the floor laughing my !Removed! off :D
  21. If you have not upgraded your shocks/springs, that is one option to do. Aftermarket shocks/springs, however, are usually stiffer than OEM, some more than others. I have heard, however, of some people who kept the OEM shocks/springs setup and added compliant sways to control the body roll. They were very happy with the results. The only drawback of sways only is that you are not lowered. If being lowered is not a goal, then sways would be a nice choice. If you want to be lowered, then do the shocks/springs (or better yet coilovers) first to see if the handling is good enough.
  22. It's all good bro. :D This is a very cool option and I think the controller is very affordable (in the hundreds) compared to a full air suspension system that is 4-5k.
  23. Well, I would think he has 15" rims ;) but I am curious on the tire specs. My concern is with the tire diameter. On the GS, when you run 20s, the tire spec is already 1" larger than spec. This is "normal" because of ride quality and tire spec availability (or limitations if you want to look at it that way). I don't know if the LS specs are friendlier to putting larger tires. This came up since teflon mentioned he wanted to put larger tires to fill the gap. Not only does this increases the SUV look but I just wanted to make sure it is the 1" more that is "normal" or it is more on top of this. (The latter is not recommended. :))
  24. I don't know about the altenator but Luxury Mods is a credible vendor. Although I have not bought anything from them, I know of some who has and they had no problems with them. You might also want to contact JP Importz. They are here on LOC as member JPI. i can't remember their website at the moment but they had a larget capacity alternator as well. I personally know 2 people with the JPI alternator. They both have large systems and have not had problems with the JPI one.
  25. Is that a question SK? ;) If it is a statement, then I agree with you. Chrome tends to be heavier and can sometimes weaken the metal just a little during the chroming process. I also agree that you can get polished ones and be better off. The nice thing about chrome and is also the bad thing about polished is maintenance. Polished rims need to be consistently maintained to retain that bling. The thing about many of the Dazz wheels is that although nice (and OEM elsewhere), they are cast which makes them a bit heavier. If you have the $, look into some forged polished rims to get the combination of strength, weight (reduction), and shine. chris6878, When you say racing, are you planning to take the wheels to the track? Or are you just talking about informal street? If track, are you talking about drag strips for time or are you talking about a course track where driving/steering comes into play?
