  1. Great write up, MadloR. Anxious to know the source and price. Tom
  2. I, too, would like to see the actual batteries. I have no idea of their actual size. Bigger than a bread basket? Tom
  3. Nothing ruins a prowler's fun like surprise flood lights controlled by a motion sensor. Cheap and effective. Tom
  4. It's interesting to note that no one seems to have complained about the rear visibility of the RX400h when backing up. I find neither the rear camera nor the three mirrors give me any idea how close I actually am to an object behind me. On several occasions I've backed up to a table or second vehicle to load something into or out if the "trunk" and been off by a good 6 feet. Am I alone in this complaint? Tom
  5. You haven't loaned you car to Mike Tyson, have you? :D Tom
  6. Time and IRS permitting, I intend to check out Home Depot and Lowe's for possible material. Tom
  7. Oops. forgot to mention 2007 RX400h in the title. I checked my energy screen today (since I have no meaningful life) and noticed for the first time that the drive battery indicator dropped to purple (bottom two lines). I don't watch this display as often now that I've had the car for a few months, but have not seen it this low before. It took several miles of city driving with the gas engine running to bring it up into the blue region. Has anyone else experienced same? Tom
  8. Skyfish, do you mean that Costco sell this in one piece, large enough to fit the rear of an RX400h? I haven't noticed it there, what department? Tom
  9. Memorize this: MIST, OFF, AUTO, LOW, HIGH. Now you don't need to see anything :) Good idea, I'll just use the easy to remember acronym, MOALH... :P Tom
  10. Madman, we've had a pretty dry winter in Arizona, but mine have worked great so far. I do, however, think that the positions on the stalk are a bit difficult to see at night. Tom
  11. That's very interesting, Roland, thanks. I checked out the Container Store (www.containerstore.com) and, of course, none in Arizona. Can you give me a link on their web site so I can see the product a bit better before I go out hunting? Or a picture would be great too. Thanks, Tom
  12. Mado, I think you would need to order the entire side trims strips as the badges are set into them. Tom
  13. Check inside the glove box. There is an on/off switch for the power rear door. Tom
  14. take the cat for a long ride.......
  15. I'm now running 36 psi in my Michelins. The road noise seems a bit more noticeable and I haven't seen any improvement in fuel economy. Tom
  16. Madlo, I too have noticed the cheesy spare tire cover, although I don't hear any rattles from it while driving. And I agree that the muffler looks like it has fallen down when viewed from behind. Perhaps all the more reason to minimize any off-road driving. Tom
  17. I have no experience with an aftermarket rear view cameras but I did notice recently that Costco is selling one. They are great about returns if you don't like something. Tom
  18. In my humble opinion nothing works as well as an old fashioned letter delivered by the USPS. Sending it certified is even more effective. Phone calls and emails are largely ignored today. Tom
  19. Before I take a car to anyone to do anything, I take a bunch of dated digital pics inside and outside. Good protection against such damage. Tom
  20. Perhaps one should just coincidentally replace all the easy items like windshield wipers and cabin air filters right before the 20K service. Then all they can find to charge you for is inspection of 200 bolts that haven't moved since the car was built. Tom
  21. That's a pretty good report, MadloR. I think the cost of the 10K sevice is worth the support you received in return. Tom
  22. Greetings mat experts. :) My 400 came with the stupid fabric mat, which of course I also paid for on the invoice, and it hate it. It's flimsy, slides around and is sufficientlly smooth so that everything slides around on it. After I make Uncle Sam happy I intend to pick up a Lexus rubber mat and try it, with an understanding from the dealer that I have return priviledges as long as I keep it looking nice. Tom
  23. I just Googled America's Tire and I stand corrected. Guess they and Discount Tire are one in the same. Sorry. Tom
  24. MadloR, I think there has been a post here about the rear seat middle arm rest ratting in certain positions. Tom
  25. MadloR, find a willing volunteer to ride in the back while you drive and try to locate the source. I don't have any 400h rattles as yet, but have done this on other vehicles with some success. Tom
