yeah, i guess we are, may be not the same hood but prolly somewhere around:) i did this junk yard ordering through the shops and its much cheaper then orderin directly from the junk yards, but once again, no wreked LS here in nY area
you can always check if its working or not by put fader and balance to their respective extrme positions and then putting your ear next to the speaker being tested:)
u mentioned pretty much everything that needs to be done but it might cost you if ure not willing to do at least parts of it urself.
P.s i like ur signature, i use fedora core 1 with kde 3.2:)
you should get second opinion b4 paying so much $ for the rack. sometimes dealers just want to suck money from you. you came with the brake lights and not able to shift problem while he diagnosed you with the leaking rack. strange.
IMHO u need second and third opinion since racks are not cheap and are about 1300$ just for the parts.
u cant find many 98 LS in the salvage yards. try www.newlexusparts.com
but they will have to ship those parts as freight so askem bout the shipping charge b4 submitting the order. also compare prices you will get to the local dealer prices.
if you know mechanics you can ask them to order from the local dealer for you and then it will be 20% off the regular price
not mayn probs with nakamichi while pioneer users usually have much more problems. make sure that your speakers are dead completely e.i there is no hissing from them when the volume is pretty high. if there is no hissing then check cables from amp to the speaker with the tester and check wires and amp for visible water damage.
yeah i know what ure tlaking about, i also hope that linux will take me to the levels of the financial stability when i will be able to buy those new versions of my fav car:)
there is a subthrottle for the criuse control and its independed from your accelerator throttle. you tell your CC ECU at what speed you want to travel and it will adjust your engine RPM depending if you go uphill or on the even surface, it will do engine braking if you go downhill. i was in the MB museum and plant 2 month ago and i saw their new innovations for the cc system. yes those features linuxfan was talking about might be availble in the near future but it will take at least another 2-3 years of testing b4 they will implement it in the stock car. right now there a lot of bugs in the system and its not even ready for the major system testing.
lighter, more powerful, body strendght improvements, roomier enterior and beefed up look. looks bigger and better then the first LS. no offense to genI owners.
:)
yeah, i had to do this too coz i had shims missing and i had this cluning noise and squeaking. i replaced pads as well since it was cheaper to get pads and shims then just shims.
nope, gen I was far from the fastest. Gen II LS lost significant amount of weight and gained some extra ponies so its def faster then gen I. Gen III got even more hp then genII.
