  1. I just bought a XMPCR off ebay (yeah my !Removed! hurts after that price gouge!) and I'm planning to install it into my car and control it with my carpc using XTremePCR software. Carpc's are the way to go!
  2. I also have the silverstars in my SC4 in the highs and lows. They are a LOT brighter and whiter than standard bulbs and look damn cool too. I put HIDs in my RX300 and I would love to put them in the SC too, but for the money I'm not really sure it's worth it. The silverstars cost me $19 each whereas the HID kit cost me $485. You do the math.
  3. I have a JBL10IB4. Awesome sub, but they haven't been available for a while now. The Pioneer free air is also a good one. If you get one, just be sure to get one that was designed to be a free air sub and not one that just says it's OK for free air use. It won't sound nearly as good.
  4. Dude, I also have Carquest pads on my SC4 and i H A T E them. Worst pads ever. They squeal like I've never heard before. When I did my brake job, I regreased the sliders, used anti squeal grease on the back of the pads, used the shim kit and put anti-squeal grease on the back of the shims. Last, but not least, I even put anti squeal grease whereever the pads contacted the calipers. It's the pads, they just suck !Removed!.
  5. I sent him an email to ask for details and a some pics for you. When I get it I'll post it here.
  6. Sure does. Look underneath the overhang where the plate goes and you'll notice where the lights are. By law all cars have to have an illuminated rear license plate. It won't pass inpsection if you don't.
  7. I've got 18" HPRacing HPR5's with 245/40/18 tires. The wheel specs are 18x8", 38mm offset. 18's are still comfortable driving. 19s and 20s give a much harsher ride. It all depends on what you want and how much you have to spend. Each size up costs more $$$. Check around, ask questions and decide on what you like. Then make your decision. That way you don't buy a set of wheels you end up replacing. Yeah, this comes from experience. I'm on my 3rd set of wheels for my SC4 and I've only owned it since April!!!
  8. Did you try two tanks fully concentrated? That's usually the problem with cars that were babied. Carbon buildup will get pretty bad and that causes the symptoms your talking about.
  9. I've done 115 on rt 93 in NH. Fastest I've gone in the SC4. It's weird cuz it Seemed to ride smoother at higher speeds. Good 'Ol Lexus engineering.
  10. I know someone who is selling two immaculate headlights for $365 (both). I can put you in touch with him if you're interested.
  11. I'm in NH and all the parts are brand new unpainted.
  12. If you have a Nakamichi system then your headunit would have it printed on the face. Otherwise it's a Pioneer system.
  13. I have the parts for the 97-00 body conversion. I was going to do it on my 92 SC4, but I've changed my mind. If you're interested, I can sell you my kit. PM me if your interested. Jeremy
  14. Dude, My buddy has a 1996 SC300 5 spd black/black in awesome shape. Like 80k miles, fully loaded. He only wants $12,900 for it. If you give me your email address I can even email some pics I have of his car and give you his contact information. 4 years newer for the same price. 'Nuff said. Jeremy
  15. I don't have one in my SC4 either and it's been fine. My buddy had one in his SC4, but he junked it when he replaced the battery recently and his is fine too.
  16. I have a brand new one if your interested. I bought with the intention of doing the complete 97+ conversion. email me if your interested. I'll give you a better price than you can find anywhere cuz I just want to get rid of it. jeremyp111@hotmail.com
  17. Pro-Techs Automotive & Performance Bridge St Pelham, NH 603-635-1802 Ask for Art or Paul Tell them I sent you. Jeremy
  18. Are you looking for a shop IN Boston? Will you go to Pelham, NH? I good friend of mine has a shop there and he's a very good mechanic. He does all the work on both of my Lexus'.
  19. Supra lower control arms can be sourced for $199 each through Steve Ganz at Carson Toyota. The Supra LCAs comes complete with new bushings AND ball joints which is a big advantage for any high mileage SC. Do it once and be done with it for the next 70-100k miles. Recently someone at another lexus forum has installed lexus OEM bushings for the 97+ SC and they fit perfectly. I can get part numbers if anyone is interested.
  20. what year is your SC4? I have a service manual on CD as well as the books for a 1992. I can look up that info for you tonight. email me @ jeremyp111@hotmail.com and I can email you the stuff. Jeremy
  21. irontoad.com They are a Lexus dealer in PA and usually have the best prices for OEM stuff. I got mine from them. I think it was like $55 or something, but better than $80.
  22. Use silicone sealant when putting them back together again and you'll be water tight with no more condensation. Another trick I heard of doing if your lights have condensation on the inside is to drill a few very small holes at the bottom of the light where it won't be noticable. This will allow any moisture to escape and not cloud up the lens anymore. I haven't tried this yet, but I might soon. Mine were yellow and hazy on the outside, but the inside is clean. I just have some condensation I need to get rid of. I used Meguiars plastic polish and a rotary polisher with a foam pad on slow speed and they cleaned up very nice. I use Plexus on the clear vinyl windows on my boat and that stuff kicks !Removed!. I might try that just to polish them up a bit.
  23. Shoulda taken his plate and make/model/color of car and called the police. Leaving the scene of an accident is a HUGE no no. Did he give you a bum number too? Regardless, sounds like the repairs will be cheap anyways. Good luck.
