  1. oh if your trac off botton didnt do anything than its probably not the traction controll. but give it a try anyway.
  2. why dont you try and pull the trac. fuse so its not in use for a while to see if its that that is causing the problem.
  3. When I switched to synthetic, oil consumption got worse. I guess full synthetics are more thinner when comparing the same weight of dino oil. Dunno. yea switching to synthetics late in mileage seems to cause leaks in seals sometimes.
  4. yea a good tranny shop can do things to gain line pressure and stuff like that, call around your area to see if anyone can do that.
  5. wow! i guess you had some fun modding then huh? looks good! bone stock here!(im not proud of it but its the truth;)
  6. well toyota bodies are very rust resistant so its not that bad as long as you wax every once in a while at the least. but when we lived out in the north shore side, where the wind blows in from the ocean, our aluminum radiators would get corroded and would not be good after maybe 6-7 years. the weather here right now is sunny every day but the air is alittle cold, at night it gets down to the mid 60's which probably isnt much for you.
  7. haha! yea looks like it! i dont understand how blocking the egr can foul the ecu, at most you might get a trouble code. but i doubt it.
  8. i think you can do it to obd1 cars so yours should be ok, just try and temporarily block it off and see.
  9. maybe the unburnt oil is getting on to your cat and is just cooking until the cat cools down?
  10. its a a340e. the 341 is the trans in the LS400. dunno the difference though but they are very similar
  11. if your car shakes its a big problem. it depends on which bushing it is. if its the arm bushing most cases you have to buy a new arm which wil run you about 350 ish if you buy a supra arm. the steering rack arm will prabably run like 30-50 bucks.
  12. well that could be many things. first of all check your arm bushings and steering rack bushings. easiest way to check for rack bushings is to jack the car up and try to move the wheel by turning it from the out side. if the bushing is bad then there will be alot of play and maybe a knocking sound. after checking bushings. tires. then allignment unless you hit some big pot holes in which case both your tires and allignment could be off. as for the 4 wheel steering (which i think you are trying to describe) isnt on the SC. some cars like the nissan 240 sx or skyline gt-r's had what is called HICAS. which would steer the rear wheels also. and some of the older preludes had that too.
  13. no i dont think camber is the problem. play in the suspension or wheel balance maybe?
  14. usually damage comes from running dry. so leaky lines would be the culprit. but for now is ther fluid in the resovoir?
  15. i still havent driven the 06 GS nor the 306hp IS but luxury, your better off with a 3 or an IS, speed and cornering... well all i have to say for that is i love my s2000 haha! but it is a pure sports car so its not quiet, the ride is kinda harsh compared to the lux brands and well there is no torque at low rpm's but there is 8000-9000 rpm (depending on the year) of almost endless reving that just screams after 6000 rpm. and you gatta love a convertible! :P
  16. i would buy a factory pump but thats me and it also costs like 400 bucks. anyhow, is the pump makin noise?
  17. GS430 man that car is hot! oh yea and the IS is second hot in the new lineup have you tried driving an S2000? hehe
  18. its fairly easy to change out the parts.
  19. dont know about the dash stuff but ac will work directly, fuel pump will need to be changed, if your buying a front clip then use the r154 tranny unless it comes with an auto, and rebuild and keep the w58 as a spare. and i wouldnt advise buying cheap turbo manifolds.
  20. camber can be adjusted using the inner bolt on the lower control arms, the bolt acts like a cam and pushes the arm in or out. it has a gauge like washer attatched to it.
  21. yea i agree on the filter change. my LS just broke down with transmission failure, and i took it to my friends shop to use his lift and swap out transmissions but my friend said that the pump sounded like it was starving, so he suggested changing filter, and explained how the cork gaskets on toyota trans filters harden and develop a gap between the valve body and filter, bypassing the oil pickup and starving the oil pump. so after changing that it worked fine! so yea change the filter and oil.
  22. i think that there is only 1 for your car unless the headder is split up in 3's then there might be 2. just reuse the sensor.
  23. you dont really need one but if you dont want the restriction of the maf then you can get the vpc. oh yea um HKS stopped making VPC, i think they have another thing that does the same thing other than that i think Apex makes something.
  24. you can expect to fell some difference, maybe 5-10 hp? by taking off 2 cats, i made a test pipe on my S2000 and i could noticeably gain on my friend up hill in 3rd gear with stock exhuast, and he has the same car with exhaust, but no test pipe. and if your car is pre 96 then it shouldnt affect your ecu and stuff like that even if you take all 3 cats off.
