  1. If you are not experienced with MVAC don't do it, the O-ring polymers used for R-12 are not compatibile with R-134a. THe mineral oil in R-12 system is also not compatible with the PAG oil used in R-12. It will just cause you problems down the road fast. Wait until your compressor ges out then do the swap. there are several replacement for R-12 that are compatible, try Freeze 12 (no license needed to buy).
  2. If the check engine light does not come on there is no code stored, codes are only stored when the check engine light comes on with ODB-I systems.
  3. In Theory it takes the same amount of gas to start a car as it does to idle for 8 minutes.
  4. It could be a bad knock sensor, or bad gas, the Octane rating of gas is determined by the Research Octane number added to the Motor Octane number then divided by 2. If the research octane number is high (this is a theory test) then the Octane will rate high even though it is actually low. There is a 30 amp fuse under the hood, remove this fuse for 1 minute and then replace it and drive the car, stop and take off fast three times making it to high gear. This will reset the driving condition programmed into the car. This program determines the timing and injector sequences.
  5. The TRAC light will come on if the service engine light comes on for any reason, it will also come on if there is problems with the brakes since the brakes are it's main function, if the brake pressure on the TRAC Control module is low.
  6. I replaced mine with Nakamichi SP-C452, they are good, good THD.
  7. Replace all the filters and change as many fluids as you can afford, remove the plugs and replace with Iridium plugs, they are the best and will last as long as the car does, take the plug wires and measure ohms from one end to the other, if you have more than 15 ohms on any wire replace them. I alos adjust my valves because they start pecking a little.
  8. A good substitute for R-12 is a product called Freeze 12, you do not nbeed a license to purchase it, it can be bought at www.freeze12.com.
  9. Power steering fluid on the alternator would blow the fuses, it will short out and change the polarity of the current resulting in blow fuses. I have the factory repair manuals, I will read up on the security system.
  10. The thermal temperature change across the evaporator creates a bond between the hydrogen and oxygen atoms, hence condensation that exits the system under the car. What is left is a suitable dewpoint inside the car.
  11. I replaced mt LCA's with the toyotas Supra ones, new Tokico struts, but when I hit a bump it makes a popping sound, has anyone had this problem?
  12. Check ebay, I have seen them on there, also Lextech Lighting may be able to help.
  13. This problem is caused by valve seals, when the car is sitting if oil doesn't drain before the valve seals cool down and contract, the it allow a minute amount of oil to enter the cylinder, when you start the car it combust the oil that entered the cylinder. This should be worse as the oil becomes dirty. If the car sit for a long period is it worse than only sitting over night?
  14. The 4" speakers mount in a bracket, when the bracket is removed you have a large square hole, I replaced mine with Nakamichi SP452 speakers and it sounds great. They are a direct bolt in. :)
  15. I just did lower control arms and all 4 struts on my 92 SC400. The lower control arm bolts were not hard to get the nuts off, use WD-40 or similar. The problem came in removing the bolt from the car, I had to use an air chisel with a punch insert. The bolts are actually CAM bolts that adjust the front end of the camber, they are very expensive to replace.
  16. I have a complete 92 sc400 interior if your interested ← How much for the door if they are gray...
  17. Chromoly is very good, pro-stock drag racing cars have frames built from chromoly steel because of ti's resistance to flexing. Very good material. 4130 chromoly steel is rated with the best tensile strength.
  18. Pioneersuby, I'm also interested in a changer for my SC400. I want the 6-disc with the mounting brackets, please let me know, you can reach me at 704-264-6743, or gary.carpenter@kosa.com
  19. What about the instrument cluster, does the neddles work, or are they blacked out?
  20. Did you order the Supra control arms for the turbo or non-turbo, power steering or no power steering.
  21. I replaced all for of mine, rear deck, and front doors, they sound great.
  22. Order lower control arms for a 1994 Toyota Supra and they will work...
  23. It can be several things. It is tied into the engine performance and the braking system. Make sure the brakes have no problem since the service engine light is not coming on. Usually the service engine light comes on when this problem occurs...
