update on car..just found out my parents are going to get rid of Eze :chairshot: :( :( :( they called him a "lemon". my car, my beautiful hardworking car is a freaking lemon. i love my car. i love it goddamnit..just when i find an issue with the car, they bleeping decide to get rid of it. this is a sad sad day.

ok so is this that HUGE but short hose ??? everything else has covers on it.. that hose that i am talking about is old and looks dried out and has a few cracks in the ribbed grooves..but its just long skinny small cracks... kinda like this : _________________________________________ all the way around in a few dif spots is that it? oh man i hope it is....but my dad is gonna freak, he's all about the mechanic doing it....not me messing with the car.. anyways let me know if thats what im supposed to be looking at

REALLY? ok so what's the hose look like? someone like give me step by step how to check since i havent looked at anything before. what am i looking at exactly?

yeh mine does it whenever i brake, and i wouldnt think ABS would be kicking in that much. what are rotors? and how do i know if they are goofy?

this is the 2nd mechanic :( but yeh, i have an appointment at lexus at 1 pm this coming wednesday. i just need to car back by monday (moving and starting school, need to the car to get there).. i was all excited about my car being fixed..major let down... and my parents are going back to the original dealership and throwing the mechanic receipts in their face. (told them that place suckt and i didnt want a car from there..oh well) I JUST WANT MY CAR TOO BE OK!i love him so.

nono i was told by my mechanic that the earlier generation of computer chip cars (the thing they use diagnostics for?) had a chip on them..so it would be locked and only the dealership could tell you what was wrong with your car. (ie: they had the "key" to figuring out what is wrong with the car) so other mechanics may be baffled, and their readings would be wrong, but the dealership had that link to get passed the lock and see whats wrong.... in conclusion, lexus gets the $$$

SO, it's not fixed.. apparently there is a chip lock on the computer in my car..so i have to go to the lexus dealer for them to fix it.. which means its probably a big expensive problem.. anyone know anything about this darn CHIP?

is that a sensor in the 92 es 300? i can't remember the exact name, but the mechanic says thats the issue with Eze....so hopefully im getting him back today thats the third sensor replaced, is there something i should know about sensors and why they break all the time? and im just gonna replace the head unit in the car.. not spending lots o money

how long does it take for it to "kick in"? and i recommend that fuel cleaner..... it kept my car from messing up for a week :) which was a miracle!

on the whole checking parts thing, the miles at which the timing belt was changed should be written in plain view under the hood (it's on the passenger side, i want to say, near the engine?) also, the warrenty is a GREAT IDEA! jump on it, and an inspection too. those darn needle lights are a pain, they go out and even flicker, but it's not that important to get fixed (unless you are like me and have to get everything perfect)... i'd say be ready for some oil leaks, small but annoying, and little things like that... it's a great car, really comfortable and fun to drive. puts a smile on my face everytime i see mine outside :) if you get it, i hope you and your son enjoy it to the fullest :)

as for my stereo issues, heck knows if my car will be running long enough for me to install anything... as for sound, i wish for clearer sound with a more definate bass tone rather than a rattle (poor doors)..... im just learning stuff....*grunt*

which front speakers? on the door, up by the window, or the little tiny dinky ones by the side view mirrors? i was told that the window and side view mirror ones were a waste to replace.... was advised to replace the back, and if any others, the doors.... the other four (little lame ones that give no sound anyways) were not worth it (by 2 or 3 way speakers for the doors and disconnect the little ones)

yeh, RTP here is a !Removed! when it comes to rush hour traffic....i just dont have the money for a car that has such options...and i went looking for newer versions of the ES and i hate money.......why can't stuff be free ;) blake, the system is pretty cool, we used it in Europe when we rented a car...it needs at least 4 sattilites to run (it really can run on just 2..but it doesnt like to) and you can adjust when it says TURN LEFT TURN RIGHT, etc..... we ordered it online. the only complaint i have is that the antenna is magnetic, so in windy situations (Autobahn) it would be moved farther back and i was worried that it would be ripped off... it doesnt like rain and sometimes it randomly stops working (really big pain when u are in another country out in the boonies at night when there is a thunderstorm on top of you). don't close the window on it or you'll snap the cable. i would vote for built in, but thats expensive. i havent been in a car that has built in navigation, if i ever get a ride in one, im sure ill want it....

my family leased a car and in the end, we could either lease another one, buy that one, or get some sort of credit on a new one.....we opted for a new car and have liked it ever since...minus the spray paint touch ups my dad did, the electric taped trunk siding, and the other ghetto fixes. now they want to sell that car and get an older model...wonder how much it's worth now with all that crap he did to it.... i vote own, at least i can feel proud that it's MY car and not the bank's or the dealership's car.... and even if i got a 03 car, id have the warrenty and wouldnt have to worry about ANYTHINg on it for a couple years...under the warrenty right now, we've had tons of work done on the car without any issue about the coverage... thank goodness too, stupid window motors are expensive... the only thing is, with that darn warrenty, if we take the car anywhere else for an oil change, we lose the warrenty and we're on our own.... buying all the way, unless you are the type who wants a new car every 3 years (workmate likes a new car every YEAR..not 3....crazyness)

i love the newer gs style in comparison to the es's.... as for navigation......it would be useful i suppose in traffic..but where i live, if you're on the highway, it's better to stay on it than travel the side roads, cuz none of them head back to the house....they run to the highway parallel to the one you'd be on... just adds time....not to mention all the construction on the highways here, it would say go left when i gotta go right.... i have the teletype gps system on a laptop, just throw the gps antenna on the roof and plug it into the usb port and you're good to go....

i have an automatic and mine likes to be in the 3000-4000 rpm range..when accelerating normally at a stop light (not trying to speed through the light) my car goes to 4000-5000 and finally gets into a gear.... the mechanic said some cars have higher rpm range than others..... how long has your's been doing it? recently or since whenever?

i just leave stuff in the trunk..i never take it out..sometimes add to the pile..and the only time i look under the hood is when im checking oil levels and all that jazz..... no reason for me to climb on in and look in dark places since i'd probably just break something.

i would say i dislike the style of lights on both the camry and the ES..... im not really into the newer cars, the style just seems to have lost its edge.... the 97-99 camry's were the coolest (in my opinion)..but they did need a spoiler...the newer cars just seem to be too "puffy"... im a person who looks at the little things (accesories, outside cosmetic kinda stuff) rahter than what's under the hood..since i don't know anything about what i would be looking at...)

i always wanted a trans-am t-top......with a turbo boost button and a crazy red light :D i must say, having to drive a car w/o a moonroof SUCKS! and also, i can't deal with the steering anymore in the old car.... i never thought i would like Eze so much....my fav car used to be the camry (how can u say no to a thumping cd player and cloth seats) but now, ill say NO anyday.... i missed listening to tapes (minus rewind and fastforward) and i love wind so i can't deal without a moonroof.. and as for birds, they aim at my car ALL THE TIME so there is no way ill leave it open, or even tilted....no way..... i hate birds.....and CATS! my boss's cat walks on the car all the time..... everyday i find foot prints leading to the roof ( just hoping the cat isnt sleeping on the moonroof, cuz that could harm it).... like i said earlier, im hooked on Lexus now. H8R Proof: how much was that "less than standard" lexus? or did it not say?

car is going into the shop monday and i dont think anyone knows didily squat, but they fixed my headlights so im going back to the same place (previous mechanic had a heart attack so i dunno when he'll be back at work :( ) ..as for an alarm..... i do believe ill be buying a better one, anyone have a clue what i should look for in an alarm. i know nothing of alarms or even how to set it up..id have to get someone to install it.

92 and all those lights come on....never really figured out how though...i know the one inside for the door and the ignition are on when the door opens..never really notice when the outside one comes on (the previous owner got wax all over it)

mine is fairly fast when it opens..... the closing is the pain, since it stops halfway every single time ( damn design) rather have it close faster (for when rain begins) than open faster....

cool..and on a sadder note, my car is STILL HAVING ISSUES!!!! i drove it this morning and BAM stupid thing messes up again...today has been the worst day in a long time.. car is gonig back to the shop monday morning..

im a poor poor college student..my car doesnt get the love he deserves...but he will one day... i buy all this stuff to make him all purdy, and i wash him at LEAST once a week....i keep the inside clean (minus the trunk because i basically live in my car)......if anything goes wrong with the car i want it fixed right away and worry over it.....i park in spaces FAR away just so no one dings my car..... i wipe the windows all the time cuz people use the WINDOW to close the doors (not good for the window/track and makes smudges)....but when i got eze, he had serious issues and im slowly fixing it all up.. someone tore up the console siding (vinyl stuff) and used those black plastic paper clip things to put it back so that needs to be fixed. the trees are constantly dropping tree crap on my car since my parents use the garage for JUNK..... i am moving soon and ill be damned if my car sits outside any longer, my boyfriend can put his jeep outside and eze can live in the garage..... i mean....jeeps are outside types of vehicles (until i get mine..then we are adding onto the garage)....i love my car almost more than anything else.... my first car is gonna get lots and lots of loving....and i don't care what people think (my parents keep yelling about the car not being perfect and having to deal with it.. WHAT CRAP!) my car will be the coolest car out there and it will be all my hard work.....lets just hope he stays in one piece and no one hits him
