  1. Even with new pads, my brake pedal has always had what I consider to be rather long travel. The brakes on my Lexus are crappy in emergency situations even though the dealer declared them fine? Hopefully Lexus brakes have improved greatly since 1990
  2. Gs at Costco in Norfolk was $2.03 for regular on 11/20/05 I think premium was at $2.20
  3. I ran across a website looking for things for cars other than Lexus. Check it out because there were many Lexus related questions which I could not answer. I always try to mention LOC on the site. faqfarm.com I have no involvement with the site other than as a responders, I just think it is interesting.
  4. Ahhh Ao1 you bring back many memories. I have been in A-Bay many times and never failed to have fun. BUT it is time to put the snow tires on. Welcome to the Great White North! Thanks for sharing your pictures. I sure wish I could figure out how to upload pictures.
  5. That is an incredible deal for a 99. I do like green cars but I will never have another one. Green cars are really bad luck in my family. For that price I could have it painted black.
  6. Hey Matt, Welcome to LOC. My Lexus is a 1990 which is my sweet baby. It stays tucked in the garage all waxed and ready to roll. The best thing about this board is that there are no "newbies" we are all Lexus lovers. Sorry I can't help you with a decision on the year you are looking for but I will tell you I won't be needing a newer model anytime soon. A big welcome to LOC. VBD
  7. I love my Lexus. It just sits there in the garage all waxed up and full of gas waiting for me to make an Interstate run. I usually drive my Frontier to work but I greatly prefer my Lex on the highway. Yeah, I found faqfarm.com kind of by mistake looking for information for another car. I guess I like the fact that they have a wide variety of topics. Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the compliment.
  8. I don't know of any specific Volvo forums but I would suggest faqfarm.com I use that for my other cars.
  9. I wouldn't consider 175K high milage for a Lexus.
  10. who knows? I am not know for my typing skills.
  11. The only problem I see with doing this is to make sure you have a water cut off so it won't freeze. I know people who have installed bathtubs like mentioned and I always thought it was cool.
  12. I am still trying to figure out what you avatar is. Hmmmm, I THINK I know but then again if your dad was a state cop........
  13. It bleeped Mississippi?
  14. Buyers should also be aware of states which are known to "wash" titles. States like Missi*BLEEP*i and such have done this in the past. Look on Consumer Reports.
  15. I use only Mobil 1 and a K&N oil filter. Filter number is HP 1002 cost is $12.96 at Advance Auto/Parts America. http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail....ttype=1&ptset=A
  16. I have a K&N air filter on my LS. It seemed to pick up a mile or two a gallon. On my last Interstate run, I got 24.7mpg but I was running about 85-90 much of the time. I have no idea what kind of gas millage these cars get when you drive the speed limit since I have never done it. I use only premium since I don't care how much gas costs.
  17. yeah, I guess so. Wish it was normal for us.
  18. I have missed a spot or two before where the polish stayed on. Take an applicator and more polish and it removes it easily. Use only a clean microfibre towel. I usually put it on, wait a few seconds and wipe it off then buff with another clean microfibre towel.
  19. lacquer thinner. Removed the glue on my Caprice and didn't hurt the paint. Of course I used Maquire's #1 and Collinite afterwards.
  20. I ws running down the NJ Turnpike yesterday morning early. Not much traffic just three wide open lane. I had been running for awhile at 90-95 and moved from the center lane to pass a slow moving (80) vehicle. I looked in my mirror and saw a Jersey trooper closing quickly. I cussed the usual word and quickly ducked back into the center lane off the gas some but the car I was passing apparently had not seen the cop and was still going 80. I was doing 85+ when the cop blw by me like I was standing still. Ahhh I thought, what a nice Sunday morning run he was having. I estimate he was hitting a buck thirty easy.
  21. lmao Leadfoot. Doing only 120 because of your wife. My wife is the same way. We were cruising to VT to see our daugter and she was reading a book. She looked up and said "I don't want you going 90" I said I'm not, I'm going 100. She said "well that is too fast, slow down, I don't like going over 80." Hence our issue. I don't like going under 80.
  22. I saw where they are launching the Rocket Ship Racing League where there 300mph rocket X racers will compete. They said they will also have video game support so you can race against the actual event on you PS or XboX. How cool would that be?
  23. I remember seeing a movie made right when the Ford Taurus first came out. Might have been set in Detroit. The "futeristic" cop cars were all dark gray Tauruses. In the early 1970's when I imagine what cars would look like in 2000 I felt pretty much came true. I drew pictures of them in class rather than paying attention. I attribute much of my current stupidilty to not paying attention then.
  24. I know they measure fuel in pounds not mpg. I do know I would not want to have the hose hooked up on my credit card. One tankfull would last us a lifetime I'm sure.
  25. I don't know what the recommended CCA rating is but I put an 850CCA in mine and it spins it up pretty good.
