  1. My point, as usual, is that Toyota often requires its suppliers to build parts, fluids, filters, etc. to different or higher standards. Example: Toyota contracts Purolator to build the genuine Toyota #08922-02011 ES 300 V6 oil filter. But Toyota just didn't go to Purolator and say: "hey guys, please rebadge one of your your existing oil filters and send us a bill." Instead, Toyota required Purolator to build a filter with unique design features. Here are just three of several unique design features you won't find in any auto parts store Purolator oil filter: http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y189/mastertech/fbrick.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y189/mastertech/ftread.jpg ← I just don't beleive this, What the Hell does a filter build quality have to do with a battery? These interjections have to come to an end. Meanwhile IALMAO.
  2. Sorry pal. The picture can be clear. I put my 98 LS400 on 153mph and my steering wheel didn't even have any vibration in it. The other picture that was blurry may have needed an alignment. Or considering it was the first generation, it was a four speed automatic. I can put my Acura on 135 but it gets some vibration. ← You guys know that pic is photoshopped right?
  3. Here are instructions for replacing the antenea mast that are very close to the same as a LS http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...topic=25850&hl=
  4. The choice is yours when it comes to what you want to put in your car, I have used just about every battery that has been on the market in the last 25 years and with all the experiences I have had with batteries failing , oozing, cracking, and soforth I wouldn't put anything else but a OPTIMA in any car.
  5. Wrap a chamois or other protective cloth around mast nut and remove: Turn stereo on and remove the old mast: From inside trunk remove side panel: Remove antenea mounting screws and power connector: Disasemble motor assembly: Remove the old mast and pieces along with the new gear: Reassemble motor assembly and reinstall in car plug in power connector: Insert new mast into motor assembly and turn radio off while feeding the new mast in straight: Put antenea back on and replace the mast nut: Hope this helps.
  6. I knrw I could get him going , OPTIMA in both my LEX.
  7. Your valves may need a cleaning, Here is how: I would try this before buying a new/used tranny. Then I would recommend installing a inline filter and a transmission cooler, You can find both at your local auto parts store or search online. The best of luck and keep us posted. tranny_valve_cleaning.pdf
  8. What sets the Toyota TrueStart battery apart from the rest?
  9. Why don't you start posting what you know, Starting at the top: It is easier that way, No one has to ask , All the info will be posted for members to use. Thanx in advance.
  10. When the "dude" touched it you should have brought it to his attention [ like he didn't know ] and asked for a replacement. I take it that you were at the store replacing the bulbs in the parking lot? You could always bring it back and request another one. Or clean it with alcohol and keep your fingers crossed. It probably will be the first bulb to go in the future. [ just a guess ] Good Luck and keep us posted on this.
  11. I'm waiting. :whistles:
  12. Use 87, There isn't much difference except $.
  13. Check your email, Thanx
  14. If you guys would have searched you would know this is a common problem with early ES and SC models. Search these forums for all the fix's or go to www.lextech.org and read there. You can always try this attachment. Fix_for_Lexus_Needles.pdf
  15. Come guy, think about things, the bigger-diameter wheels usually require shorter-sidewall tires. The stubbier the sidewall, the stiffer the ride. Nissan, for instance, uses 18-inchers on some models of the Titan pickup, but if order the off-road package, you get 17s instead. That way the tire sidewall can be taller (and be equal in overall diameter with the 18s and shorter sidewalls) and will help a absorb some of the rough-stuff impacts via a sidewall that gives a bit more. i.e...........the bigger the wheel the rougher the ride and that is a FACT. ← Yeah, No doubt about the rough ride and if you drive that car aggressively with those wheel/tire combo they will rub and to me that is totally unacceptable. If you are shooting for looks for show=fine but for driving around forget it, Not to mention speed bumps and the like. And you probably have to have a race jack to get under it if there is a wheel/tire blowout. And I wonder if the compartment for the spare is big enough for those tires? But to each there own and there driving habits. But that is only my opinion and shouldn't be taken the wrong way.
  16. The signal that controls the antenea comes from the headunit. Why did you change the amp in the first place? You always test the amp before replacing. It sounds like the headunit needs replacing. I wouldn't trust buying these parts on ebay unless it is from a reputable seller that sells nothing but LEXUS electronics. How much did you pay? People sell there junk on ebay because it failed them , They replaced it and now are selling there failed part saying it is in working order then it arrives DOA and they blame the shipper[ UPS, USPS ETC... ] saying they dropped it or whatever. I have a couple of working headunits, amps and anything else you need to get up and running. ← I took it to the lexus dealer and they said it was the amp!! I bought the other amp on ebay for 150 which was extremely less than the dealer quote. The person who was selling the amp also sold the cd changer and the stereo because he upgraded ← Well if you switched the amp then that obviously was not the problem [ the stealers always guess, they don't know what they are doing ] You need a headunit or your wiring is faulty.

  20. How about a 2006 nav with a dvd player all OEM and plug and play? You could watch movies while driving on the nav screen. Just a thought.
  21. I am curious, Are there really enough people that ride in the back seat of the GS to warrant twin screens? Or is just because you want them? Thanx ← there is a fair amount of cruising on sunset blvd so yes people do watch them, however, i also just want them. im considering headrest tv in the headrest of the backseat passengers as well. so people behind me at red lights can watch too just kidding. i just think they rock the casba. ← You should consider putting screens in the fold down sun visors then and you definetly would want one [ or more ] in the trunk and on the inside of the trunk deck. ← ya visor tv's are sick but there's already the screen on the DVD i modded so i dont need the visor. but it would be sick as hell. ← Are you going with the playstation setup? How about 3d glasses for everyone watching? Wireless headphones? Just throwing you some ideas. B)
