    Lexus does not use kenwood in production, It is an aftermarket component. Need to know something about lexus ? Then you are in the right place.

    Clean the laser with one of those cleaning cd's with the brushed on it. Run the cleaning cd a couple of times. Then post results.

    I might add, I own 2 black on black lexus automobiles and find taking care of the finish a hobby. If you make it out to be work, You'll lose interest. Just like reading posts. That's why I said "Pour yourself a cold one". Nothing wrong with self education. Is there ? All is good.

    Why rebuild the headunit ? Did you have the old amd new amp tested ? The amp on ebay was probably shot also. Typical Volume went out on the AM band (yeah I know... so what). How would I test the amp? Take it to a reputable audio shop. Call ahead and make sure they are able to do the test. Save on gas. Bring both of the amps. Have you double checked all of the connectors ?

    Can a Nakamichi head directly replace a Premium Head, or is there more to do to upgrade? tnltracy, What year and model ? I also have some common issues with my stereo....ussual backlight and lcd is bad....bunow its acting funny with sound, looks like apmis about to go. Mine is 96 LS (Not Nakamichi). Would you have pills for my sickness?? Do you want both ?

    I'll see if I have the instructions somewhere. Hold on. And yes your headunit will work after you disconnect the changer. Why do you want to remove the changer ?

    I personally would not go without one, That's just me. Seen as they are not an option from the factory. I am convinced that lexus installs them for defininitive reasons, And I am on the side of lexus.

    There is not one good CAI on ebay for lexus. Do a search on BFI intake. It is a custom DIY intake mod which is better than anything you can buy without FI. All those short ram intakes are for looks and sound and actually degrade performance. Nuff said.....................

    Not to derail this thread, But what about the cars that run around with there fog lights on ? Plus all the cars with aftermarket aux. lighting for show ? When looking in the rear view mirror and there are 6-8 lights on 1 vehicle blinding you :chairshot: Back on topic
