  1. No first hand experience with the 1jz. To get to 350 on the stock twins try a boost controller (manual or electric) with a bleeder or plain old shimming the gates. A front mount intercooler will allow for more boost. Stock fuel delivery will limit the amount of boost you may safely run. Maybe 14psi max? 350hp may be a reach without upgrading turbo. I'd recommend a single conversion. Check HKS for example. It will cost money. T04R would be nice. Of course, then you are way over 350hp and you will have lots of other upgraded items like exhaust manifold, feul system and management. The sky is the limit but with stock turbos, be ware they will break easy at higher boost. Nice car, good luck.
  2. I am not well versed with sound sytems, just fooling around a little. But most amplifiers have their own fuse. I'm not familiar with the nak amp but it may have a fuse on it. If it is blown, that will explain it. Pull the bottom piece of the rear seat and you'll find your amp under it. The seat pulls out easily. Just grab the front firmly and pull up with gusto. Otherwise, the speakers are blown. Try using known working speakers and attaching the connections temporarily to your existing speakers. To gain access to the rear speakers, pull the panel in the trunk. It is the back lining in front of the gas tank. You will be able to see the speakers in the rear deck from there.
  3. That is really way too much money. The struts can be found elsewhere much cheaper and are not hard to replace by yourself. I'll get more info, but for the meantime check e-bay and various car parts sites on line through google or whatever. You should be able to come across them fairly easily. Good luck. P.S. in the FAQ, lex400sc has a link to a very thorough site he created that has some very good info, the trunk is in there. Check it out. Struts may be located here: http://www.parts.com/index.cfm?action=find...Store&makeid=20 Or pm me and I can give some contact info for another place. Also listed in lex's site.
  4. Yes.................. But it will take a bit of work.. That is the 1JZ-GTE in case you are looking.
  5. Well, I'll be. This link just popped up. Enjoy....... Flicks
  6. There is video of this car on Kazaa. Dude - you're gettin a turbo
  7. Not off the top of my head. Around 200$ is the going rate. <_<
  8. There are a few options for manuals. I saw this most recently... considered buying them. If anyone does, please post up on the quality of these items. http://planetsoarer.com/jeffharper/productguide.html If anyone decides to try these in this link - please reply as to the quality of these items. If they are good or not. I'm sure other members could get some use out of them. I have been considering them but am strapped for cash at this point it time. Also the dealerships can sell factory manuals. I like Steve Ganz and his people. They do well at keeping people satisfied. I think I will contact him and see if he is interested in representing over here. Then there is always e-bay - I've heard those CD manuals there are not so hot, but never saw them first hand. You never know - you may be able to come along a factory manual on there or at a book store. Good luck.
  9. UCF3: there are a few options for manuals. I saw this most recently... considered buying them. If anyone does, please post up on the quality of these items. My manuals came with the car when I bought it. I sold them after the wreck because I thought it would be while before I had a need for them. 13. Welcome Matt! From the other side of the pond. I'll post more details about myself in the future. Gotta love insurance companies. I know I do.
  14. You have some options. Finance through a second party for the Toyomoto parts. Have them install it or you can try it. Go for a rate lower than the credit card. Get a 0% interest card for a year. Make as much payments as possible. Just before the year is up - transfer to another 0% interest card . And so on until it is paid off. Keep the car, take care of it. And get the set-up after you graduate and make some bank. Good luck, bud.
  15. My Dad is in from Chicago visiting for the weekend. I let him take it out for a spin today. Aside from the wooshing and pfffffssshhhhttttting, things were quiet. Not much was said aside from three phrases out of his mouth. 1. WOOOOAAAA. 2. What is that sound? 3. This is fun! When we got back to the house he looked over at me and said "It's been a real long time since I've been in a car *that* fast." I lifted the hood and began showing him what the answer is to #2. I've gotta hand it to the man. He handled the car very well. I was surprised and impressed.
  16. Great news! Let me know how I may be of assistance. AJ
  17. I think it would be cool to be able to upload pictures from my hard drive into a thread if so desired. Of course, it would be automobile related pictures We wouldn't want inappropriate material posted. But the mods can remove whatever is too big or inappropriate, eh? What do you guys think?
  18. A truely unfortunate situation. Our condolences to those and all.
  19. Well yes. There was an unfortunate incident with my 93. But a certain 95 has entered the scene (as seen above). It is a Toyomoto car 8) . I will follow up with details soon. Take care. I'll be in touch.
