Hey JPI-
If you are still on this board, can you give me more information on the A/F sensor for code reading 1130?
I have a 2000 RX300 and this code is the reason my check engine light is on. Is this something easy to replace/fix? I am relatively handy with vehicles but I have never worked on a vehicle with so many gizmo's(my last vehicle was a 1990 Ford Ranger XLT- easy to work on)
If you could offer suggestions or comments to replace this sensor and cost estimates, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks,
Eric
Please check your bank1 sensor 1 .

Hello there,
Sorry for the late reply. I didn't check my pm until today. Your rear A/F sensor is going out. This is something that you can do it by yourself. You will need a 22mm wrench to break the A/F sensor lose. The A/F sensor is by the firewall, and located on the exhuast manifold. Replace the A/F sensor, clear the code and you are good to go. Good luck bud.

There is a small crack on the exhaust manifold. Once your engine get hot, the metal will expand. And you longer hear the exhaust leak. What kind of noise you hear from the tranny?

There are a lot of options can you do. Swap in the GTE, it's a direct swap. Or go NA-T with a thicker metal gasket and you will be fine. Transmission, a 6 speed will fit in there but you have to get the a custom drive shaft. Expect to spend from $10k-15. Supraforums.com offer more tech support.

Guys this is something to need to be aware of. We had a 97 Ls400 came in our shop a month ago. Our client brought the vehicle to a local lexus dealership for a starting problem(don't want to name name). They quoted her $1200 for a starter job. She thought it is a little too much so she decided to give us a call. The vehicle came in. Getting 13.4V from the battery, pop out cover for battery water. No it is low and the positive end terminal is broke off. We top off the water, charged the battery and replaced the positive terminal for her. She thanked us. We saved her $1200. Check your little stuffs before jumping into the starter job. Have gun guys.

You don't need to drop the transmission to replace this egr tube. But it does take a while to get it in and out. It does take practice though. If you are willing to make a trip down to dallas, we will be able to save you some money!

I worked at Park Place lexus in plano. Jordan Case is the GM. Jason Peel and Kevin Bole are the Service Managers. I'd been with this company for so long. Park Place lexus is not like it used to be couple years ago. If you need to access to the service record. PM me and I will help you out. I still have some good friends working there. Actually I employ all the tech used to work for parkplace :)

if i'm not mistaken, one o2 sensor should be on your manifold and the other one should be down along the exaust pipes right next to your cats. check to see if that's where the 2nd sensor is. good luck. i think you need to replace both of them just to be safe.
Why are we replacing two them when one fail? Why is it safe? What is the code?
