  1. What are the codes? P0440, P0441 and P0446? Sometimes the VSV(vaccum Switch Valve) is bad on this also. $800 is a little too much to replace the charcoal canister. You will need to have this thing check out properly. Techs at lexus when they see the codes and they will just say it's the canister. I've seen lines to the canister cracks. Also on the 99 model, there is a hose that you will need to replace on the Charcoal canister. Make sure you get the codes. JPi
  2. Blake, I thought you are buying A ls400. I never believe in the ground wire thing. It's a waste of money to me. It's not like your lexus is some high power drag racing vehicle. JPI
  3. Check your email. I sent you a quote on parts. If you Motor mounts are going out, your transmission mount will too. JPi
  4. You don't have to take the rack and pinion off to replace the motor mounts. If you don't have access to a lift, this job will be hard and dangerous. Shoot me an email if you want to get a quote. We have the trans and motor mounts in stock. JPI
  5. Did you ask this question in the ES forrum? JPI
  6. V6, 3.0L engine, 24 valves, aluminum heads and block to name a few. The newer ES330 has the 330 engine but everything is pretty much the name. Oh Yeah, VVT-i rocks baby. JPI
  7. I never enjoy relacing the wheel bearings on the Ls400...No fun at all. JPI
  8. The switch on the pump. Can replace the switch or just the o-rings. Something like this will run $150 at our shop. JPI
  9. Yes, sir we do have them in stock $260 + core. These are lexus rebuilb power steering pump. JPI
  10. Which dealer is that? You don't replace rotors when replacing brake pads. If your rotors under the spec, yes you will need to replace them. Otherwise, Turning the rotors are OK on lexus. JPI
  11. Autozone? We are talking about Quality stuffs here!!! I would NEVER buy anything from them. Their shocks last 6 months, A/C compressor last 3 days, alternator last 4 weeks and the list goes on. We the only thing we get them is brake clean. JPI
  12. We are located in the DFW area. I don't know any related Lexus independent shop around the country. And we are not looking to expand to another state any time soon. JPI
  13. There is no way, you are getting all this for $400. The parts cost almost $400. It sounds like $1600-$1700 bill to me. I've been there, I know how much it cost. And you know what's hurt? They run your plastic through the credit card machine. Look in your yellow page for an Independent Lexus shop and call them up. Don't ask about the price first, ask what kind of service they offer and what invole in the timing belt and water pump replacement. Quality service is not cheap but it's cheaper than the dealership. I will end my post here. Shop SMART!!!! JPI
  14. Let me ask you this...Have you rebuilt a power steering pump before? It's not that easy. I've seen LEXUS TECH screw them up when rebuilding them too. I have the rebuilt kit for $43+ if you want it. JPI
  15. This is something you might want to have a Lexus/Toyota independent shop look at or your Local lexus dealer. They know what to look for, unlike your Joe auto garage they wouldn't know what to do. JPI
  16. It's the pressure switch on the pump....The o-rings are old and need to be replace. Common problem on Lexus. JPI
  17. Blake, Sorry I couldn't get back to you on the wiper motor. The manual instructed to check for power and it didn't tell the exact voltage. So my guess, it's the motor. On the Ls400, Here are something stuffs that you need to look for: valve cover gaskets, rear main seal, motor mounts and transmission mount, rear knuckle bushings, lower ball joints, dip stick o-ring, cv boots.....it can get expansive it you bought the wrong car. Good luck with the buy. Let me know if you need any help. JPI
  18. We offer the 150 points inspection for $50. This is a something you will need to do before buying a vehicle. JPI
  19. Why don't you pull the head off and see what's under there? Replacing the headgasket is a lot cheaper than a new long block. You don't just replace an engine because the headgasket is blown. JPI
  20. All the 2003 and up lexus have the pink coolant. They supposed to last forever. The red stuff is old news. JPI
  21. What did they replaced? rotors and pads? If they replaced the new rotors alone...it would warp again. JPI
