  1. That is the normal range for oil pressure on these LX470's. Not to worry.
  2. The LS460/460L/600hL all cannot close the trunk from the remote. You must push the button on inside the trunk lid, or the switch on the dashboard to close it. The trunk lid has a jam protection feature that will open the trunk if something is in the way.
  3. Cool deal, that should fix the 3 evap codes.
  4. I agree with SK. The alternator is bad. I'd stay with a DENSO, other brands are not as well built.
  5. Remove the 2, 12mm bolts and the remove the distibutor to change the oring.
  6. They must have changed the air filter and pulled off the rubber hose from the air cleaner box the to metal tube that runs to the fuel tank. That's the only way you'll get all 3 evap codes. Check the hose and I'll bet it pulled off. It's connected to the CCV (canister close valve) at the air cleaner and is about 8 inches long and should slip onto a metal tube.
  7. The GS460 will be out in a couple of months, wait for it.
  8. It's in the tool kit area, not the 2 flip up covers, but in the one that folds up that houses the jack and lug wrench. There is a small plastic cover, just right of center of the car.
  9. Wow, that's a great deal of something. All of your trans "operating" philosophy is incorrect. I don't know where you got your trans operation information from, but it's not correct. I was going to say more, but I won't.
  10. The sensor is damaged. It was probably not replaced. The slightest impact or hard vibration can damaged the ultrasonic circuitry inside the sensor. There is not reset for the system.
  11. Shark fin is just for XM. The radio antenna on printed on the rear glass and the antenna amplifier contacts the rear glass also. I would stay away from metallic tint and make sure they don't damage the contact points of the antenna amplifier
  12. There is a 2 wire connector in the bottom tank of the radiator on the driver side that may be unplugged.
  13. Cooling fan? The electric fan in front of the condenser, or the belt driven fan behind the radiator?
  14. You can rent a ball joint, tie rod separator from Autozone etc,. for free.
  15. Many dealers will sell the car at $500-$1000 over invoice. All day long. They'll make their money in the back-end when they sell you a loan for 1-1.75 points higher than what you actually qualify for. The bank will pay the dealer for the points, and there's another $1-$2k for the dealer again. So many people think they're getting a great deal at slightly over invoice. Unless you have your own financing from your own bank, or pay with a check, you're almost always going to get sold a higher interest rate.
  16. All LS460's for North America have XM installed as standard equipment from the factory in Japan. I don't understand what the dealer is "installing" for XM. It already has it.
  17. You can use a 18 inch or longer breaker bar with a 6 point 22mm socket on the crankshaft bolt, then tap the ignition switch. The bar will hit the lower control arm, and if the battery is in good shape, it'll break loose the crank bolt with ease.
  18. I'm sure the "crust" is just water vapor that carries a little coolant in vapor form to vent out the reservoir and deposit on the cap area. The liquified grease in the coolant that lubes the seals on the waterpump will wear out at times, Ph, freeze points etc, are still ok, but the grease is gone after a few years.
  19. Have the whole top covered with a colored spray on bedliner. Never have to worry about the top again, besides the truck is so high, no one will ever see it anyway.
  20. Your actuator is intermittently failing.
  21. The part you need to replace is the fan bracket. It is not a quick repair. Might want to have the timing belt/water pump replaced as it's not much more work while the fan bracket is off.
  22. That's the only way to take the cam sprocket off? What about using a cam sprocket holding tool? That's what I use. OTC, Snap-on, Mac, and many other tools manufactures make them. Or you could buy the Lexus one , that's made buy OTC, from the dealer for about $100.00. You don't have to remove the valve covers to hold the cam still.
