  1. Yes, all are the Michelins (same as came with the car). I was not aware that different tread depth front to rear would make a big difference. (this is the first AWD vehicle I have owned).
  2. I had bought 4 new Michelins last December with 37K mi. I have rotated them twice since then, the last just recently. The car now has 49K. My wife hit a curb this morning and blew out the RF tire :o . I bought a new tire to replace it and put the spare (a new tire) on the LF. I used the existing LF as a spare. I now have two brand new tires on the front and tires on the rear with 12K (these have been on the front for about 1/2 that time and the rear the other half.) With this new situation, it would make sense to delay rotation until the front wear catches up with the back (I assume that the fronts always wear more quickly on these cars). Any thoughts on how long to wait for rotation (I was going to do it when the tread depth of the fronts got slightly less than the rear). I was thinking this might take 12-15K to occur. Any thoughts? 3. Please see my next post topic. The title is more accurate....sorry for the double post! (Is there a way to delete this one?)
  4. Thanks for the info..I will try this. Is there a security code for the radio that is needed after power is lost (like my BMW) that requires either having the code or making a trip to the dealer for a reset? Thanks Steve
  5. I have a 05 RX330 and upgraded to 6.1 from 4.1 without realizing this would eliminate the override. Can I put the 4.1 disc back in and regain the function? Is there any potential harm that could occur from at least trying this? While I do not feel the need to use the NAV while moving very often, I would at least like the option to do so if I choose! Thanks Steve PS I know this is not the "specific" forum for my vehicle, but the people on this topic seem knowledgable and I thought someone would have the answer.
  6. I have a 2005 RX330. I just updated the navigation DVD from 4.1 to 6.1. With the old DVD, you could access a menu from the volume screen to override the lockout while moving. With the upgrade, this is not possible. Is there an alternate way to override this? Is it possible to go back to the 4.1 DVD version and be able to access the menu or is the upgrade irreversible? If I try the old DVD in after having installed the new one, is there any chance of causing a problem that could not be solved simply by reinserting the new one? Thanks Steve
  7. I recently upgraded my map DVD to version 6.1 from 4.2 on my 2005 RX330. On the old map I ws able to override the lockout by using the Volume screen with access to the override menu. Now with the new map DVD, I cannot access that menu. Is there a way to override the system with the new DVD? Alternatively, can I go back to the version 4.2 or is the upgrade irreversible? Thanks Steve
  8. This works great in my car! This also brings up other options on the screen. Any of these worth exploring (or best left alone!)? One of these is "load". Do I need to be at this menu to update my DVD disc to 6.1? Also, will an update disable the ability to overide (2005 RX330). Thanks Steve
  9. Thanks! Found it. Just want to verify that the steps I mentiomed in the original post are correct for doing the update. Thanks Steve
  10. I have a 05 RX330. I recently purchased the upgrade DVD for the navigation. I have looked all over the car (under pass seat, under compartments in back hatch area, etc). I cannot find the DVD unit for the NAV. I am probably missing an obvious place...any help, please? Also, my understanding of the procedure to replace the disc is to: 1. turn on car 2. Press "I agree" 3. eject the old disk 4.Insert new disc 5. Let upgrade occur automatically with new disc. Is this correct? Are there any pitfalls or info I need to know? I tried to find the location info using the search function in past forums, but could not find it. Thanks! Steve (I also posted this in the electronics forum)
