  1. I believe it would be the "check engine" light if there were a problem such as O2 sensor or other such problem.
  2. Some people say there is a kit of some foam or rubber the dealer can put in to stop that noise. The dealer should check for updates on that.
  3. The HID bulbs are D2R. Any xenon bulb of that size will fit. There are usually some name brand bulbs on Ebay. I got a pair of Philips there that are good.
  4. You can get the 2004 adjustable cup holder that will fit from the store at www.IS300.com
  5. The most power gains from an intake would be SRT intake with the piggy back ECu controller. Power wise for exhaust you get the most power from a Y pipe like a Xerd race pipe. That and a third cat eliminator with your choice of axle back is the best power combo.
  6. I think most people with turbo's try to avoid inepection, or get a garage that will cheat, or take some stuff off and get inspected. I don't think any of the kits are CARB certified, and maybe only one supercharger is or will be.
  7. There is a lot of SRT and other turbo info on this site. Kinda have to go there and browse or search the Go Fast forums. http://www.is300.net/modules.php?name=Forums&file=index
  8. You'll probably notice your car runs a little better after a reset too.
  9. Not sure, but maybe if you reset the ECU it will go out. Just disconnect the negative battery terminal for about half an hour. Then reconnect, wait 10 minutes and then start the engine. I think there are instructions in the manual in the emissions control section.
  10. That car is a IS300 customized and with a 430 engine swap by Rod Millen. It's been doing the show circuit this year. You could probably have one built, but it's not necessarily going to be a production car.
  11. Most of the higher speed rated tires are noisy and they get noisier as they wear. I just took off my Dunlop 9000's and replaced them with Kumho 711. The Kumho's are only H rated, but they ride much better and are much quieter. Going to an all weather tire might give a quieter ride also.
  12. I was thinking of the LF-C concept car. http://www.autoweek.com/cat_print.mv?port_...9206&2112631722 There are several IS and related articles and links here. http://www.is300.net/modules.php?name=News&new_topic=3 They seem to have the most info and "speculation" on future IS.
  13. Yep, that article was linked on another IS300 forum.
  14. I don't think you need more than premium gas unless you're runing over 7PS boost or really high compression heads of something.
  15. The big depreciation should be taken on this sale. I'd say the car should sell for $14,000 to $15,000 tops. Then try to get a clean title for it. You should be able to buy a 2002 IS for with a good title for around $20,000
  16. Seems like this is a pretty common problem. You could try resetting the system by disconnecting your battery for 10 min, and then reconnecting. Most people end up going to the dealer. They swap the CD unit out and when the repair company gets it they send you back your CD's. I've seen many cases of this posted on several boards.
  17. Take it to a good tire service store and they can put the tire in a tub of liquid and find the leak and probably fix it. Meantime, I'd put the spare tire on, if it's in good shape and you won't have to contend with a leay tire on the car, temporarily. Best bet take it to a dealer who sells the brand of tires that is on your car. Tire shops know more about tires than the Lexus dealer and are also usually cheaper.
  18. The map light isn't listed in the manual, but bulb # 1895 fits. That's the only one I've replaced. I've never been able to find out how to replace the dome light that's in the rear.
  19. Good for you. Now you can tell us how to do it. ;)
  20. There are companies that will take care of that sort of thing, but as I understand it, it is very expensive, time consuming, and lots of red tape. I don't think it's worth the time and money except in the case of very expensive and/or rare cars.
  21. You can look up the titles of the tech service bulletins at www.alldata.com Also when I bought my 2002, the codes for the fixes were on a sticker pasted under the hood shoing documentation that the services and upgrades had been done.
  22. It's all a matter of personal preference. I like my Eshift just fine.
  23. Do a search on www.autotrader.com for your area. You might be surprised what you can find.
  24. The biggest difference I know of is the shiny chrome tail lights on the O1's.
  25. If you get the Toyomoto header, their O2 sim works. Best bet is to also install the low restriction Y pipe with the header. It's somewhat difficult to remove the stock manifold, but with two people working it's not that bad. Go here and scroll down. http://www.toyomoto.com/is300.htm
