  1. What year is the car? What size tires are on those big rims? If the tire aspect ratio wasn't adjusted to keep the same as original tire diameter, then the speedo could be reading low. Re the Esape. SUV's have a higher axle ratio and usuallly a wider range of gearing, so they usually have more intial grunt than cars.
  2. That really all depends on how much trade in value they allowed on your Celica.
  3. That's all really nice. What exactly are these mods and where would one obtain them? What's your RWHP now and is it auo or manual trans?
  4. For starters a JoeZ inake pipe and a TRD drop in air filter makes a good gain for the $$. Lots of people also like the TecK grounding kit. Works well, especially with auto trans. Just see my sig for a list of some "inexpensive" and functional mods. B)
  5. Try this link. Input your car specifics and you can find out if there are any Lexus technical service bulletins. http://www.alldata.com/
  6. You got that riight. I don't think anyone could say it better. :D
  7. I measured a spare that I have and it's approximately Oval Shelll 15 3/4" L 12" W 7 1/4" H The exit tip is 5 3/4 " L 3 1/2 " dia
  8. Heck, I thought you just made up the story so you could post a pic of the ladies. :D
  9. Where can I get me one of them there grilles? ;)
  10. What can we do to help?
  11. You will be best armed to do what Stevie and I already told you. Don't ask car salesmen anything. Take your info, and go make an offer when you are ready. That's as hard core as it gets. ;)
  12. Go to this site http://www.edmunds.com/ Go to Lexus and then 2005 IS300. You can enter all the equipment and options you want and get the sticker price, the dealer's cost price and what is considered True Market Value or "TMV" for the exact vehicle you want and set for your particular area by zip code. That should be real close to the price you can buy the car for. Print that out and take it with you when you go to buy the car. There are other sites where you can also get "dealers" cost, but Edmunds is pretty good.
  13. If you have an open element intake there's another problem that can happen. Air from the radiator cooling fans can cause turbulence at the filter. Some cars won't idle wien the fans are running. This could be your problem at coming off idle and beginning acceleration. The fix is to put a baffle or shield around or to the side of the air filter to block that airflow from the fans.
  14. This is not infomative. The title does not give anyone any more information about the grill, where it may be obtained, etc than do the pictures.
  15. Possibly the demon eyes installation allowed some moisture to get into that headlight assembly and caused some corrosion in that socket or the electrical connector on the wire. Maybe try cleaning those up with some electronic spray cleaner. Then before you plug the lights back in, coat the plugs with dome "dieletric grease" to keep out moisture.
  16. I would have thought that management would have remarked about the lack of text with the pictures of the chicken wire grill.
  17. In order to help, one would need to ask: What kind of air intake did you get? Did you have to relocate the MAF? Are you getting any CEL? What kind of rubber are you looking for?
  18. Forbidden You don't have permission to access /s/image14/0/29/77/174402977dMUBvK_ph.jpg on this server.
  19. You might find something at Rack Warehouse that will work. http://www.rackwarehouse.com/
  20. There are several options for sway bars. The choice really depends on how you want to drive your car. You can decrease body roll for daily driving, or go to agressive driving, or autoX , or even set up to drift. There are always trade offs when you set up for a specific purpose and then use the car for other purposes. More speciificity would help in recommending something.
  21. Best way to look good and still ride nice is to lower an inch and put on a body kit.
  22. You can remove thecenter AC panel pretty easily. It's the second part removed when you are taking out the radio head unit.
  23. True Market Value Pricing Trade-In Private Party Dealer Retail $15,056 $16,800 $18,443 Order a CARFAX Vehicle History Report http://www.carfax.com/
  24. Sounds like the engine has gone into "limp mode" for some reason. Do you have a Check Engine Light? If so, take the car to a store that will read the code and then find out what that code means. There is also a chance that you have the "snow mode" button pushed. You might want to check that first. Another posibility is that your trac control is causing a brake to come on. or you have a problem with a wheel sensor on the ABS. In any case, there should ba a trouble light lit on the dash. Not to mention you could have your E brake on or one could be stuck, on the rear wheels. Need more info.
  25. That price sounds high, but depends on mileage. It's about the retail for a really nice one. Go to www.edmunds.com and get the true market value for your area. Remember that when the 2005 models come in, the 2001 prices will drop. Insurance depends mostly on your area and your age. It can range from $800 to more than $2000 per year, depending. As for hoods and other mods, you should probably wait till you get your car, then select a mod theme, and make a plan as to what to do first. The IS300 uses premium grade (at least 91 octane) gas.
