  1. Lexirx330 - Good idea for a thread, LOC members own a wide and interesting variety of vehicles. The 08 C300 (current gen C-class) is remarkably reliable and solid. My wife uses it as a dd, and it now has 114K miles (we drive it 19K miles per year), drives like new still. MB took the criticism about quality to heart before release of the W204 line and did the durability and reliability testing before first customer shipment, it paid off. Might replace the C300 with a CLA250 later. Had a previous gen 01 C240, not even close in terms of reliability and quality. Turned it in 1 month early at end of lease with intermittent problems, fortunately the MB dealer/used car manager looked the other way since he knew the car would be wholesaled off and not sold on their lot.
  2. Next to Lexus IS350 (which is my weekend car), a Mercedes C300 and Mazda CX-5.
  3. To us chickens out there that still own IS350's, Happy Columbus Day (Monday 10/14)!
  4. I drove a new Mercedes CLA250 (fwd) last Sunday, nice car with relatively affordable pricing ($30K base, $40K loaded). When I see how well Lexus has done with fwd ES, I can see why Mercedes decided to launch this product line.
  5. In contrast (since I've driven new IS350's a couple of times), I drove a Mercedes CLA250 yesterday. Interesting car (considerably different than the IS being frd and turbo 4), probably going to be successful for Mercedes given the somewhat reasonable pricing.
  6. dbs600 - Thanks for reporting back. Ok so it was not a pic or copy of actual MSRP window sticker, but a VEHICLE INQUIRY REPORT. I have one of these reports for my 2007 Is350, it was printed at my request at time of CPO purchase. It included port installed options and it had errors. It's more like a printed worksheet and should not be considered as anything other than an informal worksheet. Congrats on the new 2014 IS350! I've driven 2 of them and they are great cars.
  7. We still haven't heard one response from OP (dbs600). But we can continue to guess. We do know that MSRP (window sticker as required by US law) pricing does contain plenty of profit, and the skllled negotiators amongst us can whittle that price down while still allowing dealership to make a fair, legitimate and substantial profit. I certainly appreciate the consistent high level of service at my Lexus dealership resulting from sustainable profitability. But we don't know what he's talking about when mentioning "MSRP option list print outs" on cars that "haven't even landed yet", listing options that aren't currently offered by Lexus. At least he did research to see what optional wheels were available for new ISx50. TBD
  8. No need to fear damage to car. But if you want the car to perform as designed and the rear tires to wear somewhat longer, the correct sizing is preferred. Glad the tire dealer came to a reasonable solution, without high additional cost for you. Thanks for letting us know outcome.
  9. My 07 IS350 has been doing this lately? I'm thinking I filled my gas tank recently, otherwise I never noticed it before. I'll check with the 2nd gen IS owners to see if other experienced this.
  10. Wow, some kind of tire dealer, best to avoid them in future. They should know better to say the least. It's not a disaster. Tire diameter is about 0.6" less than correct tire, so expect slight improvement in acceleration and a slight decrease in gas mileage (effect is similar to slightly lower gearing). No suspension damage will result, but the rear tires will probably wear somewhat faster than correct tires. The ideal rim width for that tire is 8.0", but a range of 7.5" to 9.0" is acceptable, so no danger. I think your stock rear rim width is 8.5".
  11. I wish you were working at the dealer I go to..... Based on above pic, sadly he might be dead but I certainly hope not.
  12. I agree, why bring this out when the supposed NX300h(t) will be unveiled in November. The front and rear of this is awful and totally impractable. Yes, like most concept cars the bumpers and lighting would not meet regulations of the major markets such as the US, it's mainly for "show". I'm glad to see Lexus entering the market for smaller crossover/SUV, good move as it's a very high growth segment. I bought a smaller loaded SUV last year and would have gladly considered a Lexus-equivalent.
  13. The spindle grill thing seems to be working from a sales (units sold) standpoint. The RX, ES, GS, IS have enjoyed mostly increased sales over prior year since the introduction of the spindle grill. Of course other factors also contributed to the sales increase, but no evidence shows the spindle grill killing sales. Go Lexus!
  14. The MSRP list is the Manufacturers Retail Sale Price. It is the price list attached to the car door and is attached during manufacturing. The dealer can and will show you their copy as Lexus does not allow a dealer to modify the MSRP. Only in the process of reaching an aggrement for sale. Yes, thanks we know that. The question (to the OP), what's the so-called "MSRP option list printout", which might be a dealer generated listing with dealer-installed/bloated profit accessories and markup added to MSRP price list attached to the door by manufacturer. (He mentioned seeing so-called list, and "cars haven't even landed yet", so if he's not looking at a MSRP sticker attached to door, what is "list" is he looking at?) Open question.
  15. Yes, I almost forgot the IS had heated mirrors. I guess my wipers work, I haven't used them in 3 years. But the recall on wiper bolt was done a few weeks ago, no problems found.
  16. I lost a Mustang GT in my dreams, but didn't miss it all that much.
  17. IMO (not knowing the price which I suspect is very bloated) I would not recommend any of these.
  18. Super metallic red color, everytime I see that color it stands out to me.
  19. Not sure what a MSRP option list printout is, it's probably generated at dealership with bloated pricing on high profit accessories.
  20. GM suvs coming from multiple divisions have too much "badge engineering" for my taste. Some of the crap was killed with elimination of Saturn, Olds, Pontiac, Hummer, but more trimming needs to be done. Rental car quality SUVs just don't appeal to me and they tend to depreciate like rocks. Yes in many cases they look the same and are consistently ugly.
