I truely believe what we want is real change, Not a cut in growth, but a real cut in total spending. Both parties got us in this mess with the entitlements...The Real cuts would be to reduce spending from the point of our budget this year, not some projected budget in the future..They are playing craps with our money and dont have a clue. We want a real leader that makes real tough decisions, not the same as usual. Always trying to confuse the public, like this rediculous committee for budget cuts...They should grab the senator from Florida that has a real plan (1% cut on the existing budget and 1% for the next consecative 6 years) The cuts would be across the board and finally really reduce the debt. Government grew over 30% since Obama/Bush have been in office, Yet private sector is at a standstill. We are truely in for a second depression... When they changed them did they look at the wiring harness? Some have reported that the harness was brittle and the insulation was shorting out.....

Battery still hanging in there, measured last night was at 12.75 static. Two cells measured 100% charge the rest were at 75% charge and that was after driving 20 miles....I see a new battery coming...

Those lights come on when you get an engine fault....Make sure there are no secondary codes....The engine goes into limp mode when the check engine light.

My wife has experienced no ready light indication after trying to start a couple of times, then after trying a few times the car comes to Ready...I looked at battery last night. static 12.7 volts, engine on 13.9 However I did a cell check with a battery tester and three sells showed less than 50% charge, and one cell showed less than 25% charge...Something really strange three cells had a milky water color while the others were clear...Any thoughts and has anybody else looked at the water condition? May be getting a new Costco or Sam Club battery soon..... Oh and one other thing, the battery replacement sticker was not punched...So I have no idea how old battery is.

If that is the only code, yes you have a bad knock sensor...The part is not bad price wise, but you have to remove the intake manifold to get to the knocks sensors. Highly suggest having the coolent hose under the manifold replaced at the same time...I did this job my self, and it was not fun. Took about 5 hours with most of the time spent fighting hidden bolts between the firewall and intake manifold. You should replace the intake gaskets while doing this job. In the RX300 forum stickys there is a writeup on how to do this.

I used a blend to 100k and switched to full synthetic. the 1mze engine is prone to sludge so my decision was based on preventing this. I used Castrol oil 0-30 synthetic which I found to be excellent in that it actually did more cleaning....The engine also (probably wishing) actually was quieter and smoother. Switching has been posted a lot on these forums and everybody (majority) agree absolutely no problems...

As I read your post Lenore, something in my pea sized brain thinks that maybe last year or the year before, we discovered that we both had worked for the big "X" over the years. By that I mean Xerox. Am I correct? I worked in sales/marketing during the 1970's and early 1980's. Yes, that is correct, worked from 1974-2006....Shameful what happened, but hey lots of great people that I worked with...And Yes attended many, many President club functions....(do to my belief that quality of work creates happy customers) I sadly agree...when I look back on how respected and how such an innovator that company was, and now to see what it has become,wow. It puts a sour taste in those Pin'a Colada's by the pool on those Presidents club trips doesn't it. In a way, it makes me empathize for those Ford techs who now have to clean up the mess that the engineers gave them and deal with the angry customers. Somewhat like we had to do with the old Xerox 4000. Great concept, when it worked. OH Man, 4000? That was my first baby...I didnt know it was bad, so I was successful, Only the old timers new otherwise....I worked with what I was given and was successful...Took it all in stride...Had 45 lawyer accounts, and 35 of the rest of business. I am proud of my ability to make success out of a boat anchor....

I would clean the idle air control valve....do a search for the procedure....

Nc that is why I bought foreign cars for so long before i bought my first domestic....(Dodge Caravan).....Great family vehicle in design...I own a Ford F150 and have had countless problems...but it is good now (knock on wood)...I was in market for Tundra, but wifey loved the extra room of the ford as well as its ride (2005) but I knew darn well the Tundra was probably put together better...It is the typical US company looking for gratification now, and heck with what happens down the road....Funny in the late 80's my company was studying the Japanese business plans and we jumped on board. But unfortunately the bean counters and board members werent going to let it happen...I loved it, it was based on long range business models 10years at least...Profits went up, everything started to click, and than the board got greedy and figured lets penny pinch everything. That is why I left after 32 years, (oh and yes it was perfect timing for me) I personally found that my motto in life is dont do it unless it is done right (no matter what).....I do appreciate Ford not taking the bailout and improving their quality...but maybe they are sliding like my former company did....

Who knows could have been a vender problem, supplying non galvanized steel straps....That is a major problem with many companies, they cut pennies on every part, and they fail prematurely costing way more than the savings...Not just ford, I saw it in my former industry as well (copy business)....

that bolt is a pia,,,hit it with blaster, and then try a regular wrench to get it loose.

For the burnt bulb, you may have a bad contact, but I always found the third brake light lamp was the culprit....Just replace the bulb and see if it is fixed.... I would try disconnecting the battery (good time to clean the electrodes and cable connectors) then turn headlamps switch on to discharge the computer boards and then reconnect and see if the display problem goes away. Yes the display is replaceable by owner... As for cross of auto parts I found Rock Auto.com in their parts catalog, you can select a part, then hit info button and it list all vehicles that part fits..

sounds like the belt that drives the AC/alternator is a little loose....

Yes, it is an absolute nightmare....I parked wife's car all the way on the end, and was walking back to car and saw these long black lines on side, no car next to it...scared me but when I got up close is was grease..? Cant for the life figure that one out...The other thing I hate is when you come back and the shopping carts are resting against your car...We just have a whole society of I dont care about you and your stuff...Even when I park next to somebody, I fold the mirros (as a courtesy) and always watch my door to make sure it hits nobody...It sucks to have anything nice now a days..

24k for 2008 RX400h....87k miles, but heck was 6k cheaper than what the Sacramento dealer would go for a 2007 with 50k miles.....I figured for $6000 difference and one year newer than the CPO which had problems (bad headlights, crummy tires) it was a done deal....Very happy....great vehicle for half price.....Included nav, ML stereo, and adaptive lighting....

I think there are usually adequate numbers, however, it is so interesting to see whom uses them...People that are disabled rolling up in a vehicle that is a four by four that is two feet off the ground with no step bars...Man are they so bad that they cant get in and out of that....I completely understand the folks that have heart, breathing, and other disabilities...I know the closeness of the parking helps these folks...
