  1. Hey the real assasination will happen when America wakes up and votes the bums out.
  2. Friend of mine years ago said the only solution is to hold politicians to their word, if they didnt keep their promises you should hang them on Pennsylvania avenue with a sign saying I failed my promise...Then the next politician might think twice...
  3. How true, but I dont think that is Obama excuse, He believes in what he has done no matter how disasterous it has been....
  4. Yep, that is why I bought a used one (25K) for a 3 year old RX400h....At around half price the hybrid payed for itself....The 400h with my wifes driving gets 23.5 all the time but that is far better than the 16 to 18 that her RX300 was getting for the last 12 years. Love the newer, but new RX.....
  5. They die, do a search on the RX300 forum and their is a piggy back solution to fixing the door locks for less than $10...... here it is: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=50694&st=0&p=326855&hl=+door%20+lock%20+actuator%20+failure&fromsearch=1entry326855
  6. Funny, remember when the oil change was 7k as touted by manufacturors...Was more a sales pitch than reality...Also remember the bmers generally have a much larger oil capicity which helps the longevity...
  7. I seriously doubt the plug gap is problem, they come set from the factory to specs (iridium plugs) I am wondering if you have good contact between the plug and coil pack, did you look inside the coils to see if the springs were ok, no corrosion etc. Also when you did the plugs did you remove the intake or do the plugs without removing intake. However if you did drop a plug you could have messed the gap up...or worse...
  8. First of all, that is highly unusual that those bushings are torn. my 99 RX300 bushings never tore but got hard and brittle. After I change the control arms the ride improved substantially (like when new) however a 2007 with bad bushings? maybe if the car was on the rack a lot and the suspension was hanging which does appear to put maximum movement on those bushings. Replacing the control arms is not an easy task...I know I did it. You have to disconnect the hub assembly from the A arms as well as the ball joints. THe attachments to the frame can be a real pain. I know the control arms on the RX300 are around $300 apiece and plus labor and you are probably looking at that price...you might check an independent or Toyota and get a second opinion as well as a quote. The bushings are not very replaceable, some have tried on the RX300 and they failed immediately or soon afterwards...Good luck Control arm on the RX400 Is a lot cheaper only $188 per side.
  9. I would start with when was the last time the battery was changed? If you have a meter the voltage on the battery should measure around 12.8 volts with the engine off. When the engine is on with the headlights on you should read 13.5 to 14.5 volts across the battery...If you read only battery voltage of 12.8 than your alternator is diffinetly bad. As for changing it it should be easy enough for most diy folks...Look on Rock Auto for a replacement or several of the other sites including Sewell Lexus which gives us a discount. Another is Partgeek.com...Good luck By the way a low voltage condition in the battery could cause many of the indications you had.
  10. there has been a lot of wheel bearing failures on the Toyota Nation site with the Highlander's. Also some on Club Lexus site. I have noice too, but havent been able to localize it. My RX has 101k miles....Be prepared the bearings are not that cheap on this vehicle, The rears have to be replaced with the hubs...The front can be replaced separately but have to be pressed out....
  11. I hope your right NC, however his war chest is huge, and his popularity with most of the media which influences the John Does and Janes along with the metropolitan liberalism could put him back in office. My biggest fear is that it would be another 4years of nothing done to solve our countries problems and allow the economy to recover... Also in those years his health disaster will continue to downturn the economy due to all of the hidden laws that will further tear down our economic stability. Real health care reform would have included tort reform, and cost cutting measures. His plan just redistributes wealth and decreases benifits to existing medicare. THere are so many clauses that are going to tax us out of any chance of reducing debt. His support of class warefare has done nothing but divide this country further.
  12. How to take a good country and tear it apart; Take opinions and call them facts....spread them around. Use paranoia as an everyday part of your political platform. Never bother to check a rumor for fact, especially if it's about your opposing party. Always assume the worst in the other person. Believe everything you hear about everyone. If you start feeling paranoid or believing conspiracy theories, never have your own mind checked out by a professional. Again attack because they are not your views, or views that you agree with...This is not conspiracy, it seems to be standard operating practice in this administration, from throwing out the Black panthers case of itimidation at places of polling, to selling guns to the cartel and than not admitting you knew anything about it. Then trying to sell us on green jobs and taking a loss of over a half of a billion to a failing solor company, with kickbacks to your campaign fund. And more to come... Seems like Chicago style politics at its best.
  13. Some of what you say is true, but I see a man that picked his cabinet based on his true beliefs. I Know he is very inteligent, but his agenda has put this country in the worst possible position. If he really had gotten over it he would have moved more centralist like Bill Clinton did. He is truely an obstructionalist, in that he shows zero leadership....(I think on purpose) and because of this and his deep rooted beliefs will, and cannot move to the center. Funny if he did he would gain politically by showing that he is the one to compromise and solve the real problems. Funny the folks in the Beltway just cant see out of their little sub world that is isolated from what the rest in the US are experiencing. I know the economy is still a boom in the beltway, mostly because of the huge growth in Government...all at the expense of the millions that have lost their jobs elsewhere in the country. Most eleistist attack their opponents by referring to them in derogatory terms and trying to belittle them. The Ivy league bunch loves to belittle the folks that dont have their views. Quite frankly the rest of us whom have plain old common sense are what made this country so great...not a bunch of theorist, social doctrine, uptovia anarchist. Their is truely a sickness in the democratic party, showing the true mental disability that has struck a great deal of people that either are on the dole, or those that want power and give everything to these same folks. I think Obama is madd, like a child that has thrown a tantrum because he cant complete his irrational deed. Hopefully the nation will fix this by spanking his butt out in 2012 before he infects the whole population with his childish, destructive behavior. I also hope all of the old guard in both parties is kicked out, and we get some younger more centralist thinking folks that want to solve this nations problems...
  14. Maybe this Man better explains the destruction that this administration has performed. Not sure when he actually presented this info, but it is truely very alarming. Subject: FACTS ABOUT DR. CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER, MD 1. Born: March 13, 1950 2. Birthplace: New York City, New York 3. Raised in Montreal, Canada 4. Attended Mc Gill University and Harvard Medical School 5. 1972 diving accident left him paralyzed from the neck on down. 6. Directed psychiatric research for the Carter administration 7. Began writing career in 1981 with The New Republic 8. Helped develop the "Reagan Doctrine" in the 80's 9. Appointed to Presidential Council on Bioethics in 2002 Dr. Krauthammer is frequently on the Fox News Channel. He is an M.D., a lawyer and is paralyzed from the neck down. A friend went to hear Charles Krauthammer . He listened with 25 others in a closed room. What he says here, is NOT 2nd-hand but 1st. The ramifications are staggering for us, our children and their children. Last Monday was a profound evening, Dr. Charles Krauthammer spoke to the Center for the American Experiment.. He is a brilliant intellectual, seasoned & articulate. He is forthright and careful in his analysis, and never resorts to emotions or personal insults. He is NOT a fear monger nor an extremist in his comments and views . He is a fiscal conservative, and has received a Pulitzer Prize for writing. He is a frequent contributor to Fox News and writes weekly for the Washington Post. The entire room was held spellbound during his talk. I have summarized his comments, as we are living in uncharted waters economically and internationally. Even 2 Dems at my table agreed with everything he said! If you feel like forwarding this to those who are open minded and have not drunk the Kool-Aid, feel free. Summary of his comments: 1. Mr. Obama is a very intellectual, charming individual. He is not to be underestimated. He is a cool customer who doesn't show his emotions. It's very hard to know what's behind the mask. The taking down of the Clinton dynasty was an amazing accomplishment. The Clintons still do not understand what hit them. Obama was in the perfect place at the perfect time. 2. Obama has political skills comparable to Reagan and Clinton . He has a way of making you think he's on your side, agreeing with your position, while doing the opposite. Pay no attention to what he SAYS; rather, watch what he DOES! 3. Obama has a ruthless quest for power. He did not come to Washington to make something out of himself, but rather to change everything, including dismantling capitalism. He can't be straightforward on his ambitions, as the public would not go along. He has a heavy hand, and wants to level the playing field with income redistribution and punishment to the achievers of society. He would like to model the USA to Great Britain or Canada. 4. His three main goals are to control ENERGY, PUBLIC EDUCATION, and NATIONAL HEALTHCARE by the Federal government. He doesn't care about the auto or financial services industries, but got them as an early bonus. The cap and trade will add costs to everything and stifle growth. Paying for FREE college education is his goal. Most scary is his healthcare program, because if you make it FREE and add 46,000,000 people to a Medicare-type single-payer system, the costs will go through the roof. The only way to control costs is with massive RATIONING of services, like in Canada. God forbid! 5. He has surrounded himself with mostly far-left academic types. No one around him has ever even run a candy store. But they are going to try and run the auto, financial, banking and other industries. This obviously can't work in the long run. Obama is not a socialist; rather he's a far-left secular progressive bent on nothing short of revolution. He ran as a moderate, but will govern from the hard left. Again, watch what he does, not what he says. 6. Obama doesn't really see himself as President of the United States, but more as a ruler over the world. He sees himself above it all, trying to orchestrate and coordinate various countries and their agendas. He sees moral equivalency in all cultures. His apology tour in Germany and England was a prime example of how he sees America, as an imperialist nation that has been arrogant, rather than a great noble nation that has at times made errors. This is the first President ever who has chastised our allies and appeased our enemies! 7. He is now handing out goodies. He hopes that the bill (and pain) will not come due until after he is reelected in 2012. He would like to blame all problems on Bush from the past, and hopefully his successor in the future. He has a huge ego, and Dr. Krauthammer believes he is a narcissist. 8. Republicans are in the wilderness for a while, but will emerge strong. Republicans are pining for another Reagan, but there will never be another like him. Krauthammer believes Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty and Bobby Jindahl (except for his terrible speech in February) are the future of the party. Newt Gingrich is brilliant, but has baggage. Sarah Palin is sincere and intelligent, but needs to really be seriously boning up on facts and info if she is to be a serious candidate in the future. We need to return to the party of lower taxes, smaller government, personal responsibility, strong national defense, and state's rights. 9. The current level of spending is irresponsible and outrageous. We are spending trillions that we don't have. This could lead to hyperinflation, depression or worse. No country has ever spent themselves into prosperity. The media is giving Obama, Reid and Pelosi a pass because they love their agenda. But eventually the bill will come due and people will realize the huge bailouts didn't work, nor will the stimulus package. These were trillion-dollar payoffs to Obama's allies, unions and the Congress to placate the left, so he can get support for #4 above. 10. The election was over in mid-September when Lehman brothers failed, fear and panic swept in, we had an unpopular President, and the war was grinding on indefinitely without a clear outcome. The people are in pain, and the mantra of change caused people to act emotionally. Any Dem would have won this election; it was surprising it was as close as it was. 11. In 2012, if the unemployment rate is over 10%, Republicans will be swept back into power. If it's under 8%, the Dems continue to roll. If it's between 8-10%, it will be a dogfight. It will all be about the economy. I hope this gets you really thinking about what's happening in Washington and Congress. There is a left-wing revolution going on, according to Krauthammer, and he encourages us to keep the faith and join the loyal resistance. The work will be hard, but we're right on most issues and can reclaim our country, before it's far too late. Do yourself a long term favor, send this to all who will listen to an intelligent assessment of the big picture. All our futures and children's futures depend on our good understanding of what is really going on in DC, and our action pursuant to that understanding!! It really IS up to each of us to take individual action!! I believe he has a great perception of what is really going on...
  15. Well when there is a hidden socialist agenda that is what you get, destruction of capitalism at its best with the likes of a president and staff that have never contributed to a real world success of capitalism...VOTE 2012 and dont underestimate the influence of the media as well as the Union thugs.
  16. Remove roof rack, cleaner look, (Sewells has kit for $65 in you are club member) Mud guards, Leds for existing lighting....Have a ball. Change the Transmission fluids....WS Toyota fluid only......
  17. You know I had same problem on a Ford Ranger, ORielly (formally Kragens) has crap for rebuilds...I never, and I repeat never use them for rebuilds or remans for my vehicles....THe Ford Ranger story sucked, three alternators, covered by warranty, but the labor or removing and replacing all within three months...Went to Napa and put in their alternator, and it worked fine... However you did need to know whether you have a short somewhere....if not, maybe bad or poorly rebuilt parts.
  18. Where those Bosch plugs? if so they are garbage.... also what are the other Oxygen sensor codes...You still may have a missfire code....Sounds to me like a bad igniter...(coil Pack)
  19. You will need a drain pan....Otherwise you should be good to go...
  20. I have been told by several dealerships that they do not do any rebuilding at the dealerships. The use of remanufactured is there normal operating mode.I too like SWO3 feel the tranny was replaced before you bought vehicle...That is totally weird or they didnt do a good job...Part of the replacement is to flush the cooling radiators to make sure there are no contaminants in the system...So three transmissions is rediculous.....
  21. I seriously doubt the filter would ever become clogged unless you have major issues with the engine...Filtering fines is what it does...
  22. Me too, 5k and using 0-20 Mobile 1
  23. You know, I think you have an excellent case, a failure that early is rediculous..I had a failure on my RX300 and the replacement transmission from Lexus was defective from the start..It took me a month of 7 visits to convince them that the new tranny was bad...They finally replaced it...The RX330 just has not had those kind of failures...Good luck
  24. New version coming out OCT 1....with discount and shipping about $173
  25. You my friend got great service...and for cheap....
