  1. When the nose says the fluid smells burnt, I can guarantee the fluid has broke down and not doing what it is supposed to do.
  2. thank you Zapp for a logical expression to get Lexus to step up to this....
  3. 79k no maintenance, definetly do drain and fills. do three in the next 5k miles and it should start looking real clean.
  4. You need to check those speed sensors at the wheels, YOu should read some resistance and as you turn the wheel it should pulse. Unplug the sensors and measure from ground to all connections in the speed sensor, If you have continuity, replace the sensor. I cant confirm that the resistance across the speed sensor is 1400 to 1800 ohms....
  5. I wouldnt, but if you do I would change the transmission fluid every 10k miles....Also consider adding an additional tranny cooler. The car already has one, but its location is useless.
  6. No, I run 91 octane and my car has never pinged..... You may have something else going on... pinging can be caused by 1. incorrect fuel grade 2. fault in engine management system 3. fuel injection fault 4. improper or damaged spark plugs 5. vacuum leak 6. defective knock sensor.
  7. I agree, Amsoil would be the way to go, Just wish I could become a dealer and distribute amongst my family....I have not switched, but its coming...
  8. Here is info on the starter contacts for these Toyota vehicles: http://www.nationsautoelectric.com/instructions.html by the way I am told these contacts are available at the dealerships. But I havent checked personally.
  9. here it is: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread.php?t=288373 thanks to the folks a CL
  10. I dont know about the RX330 but the 300 has the feature of all windows and sunroof open with the flic of the remote. Are you sure you didnt trigger it that way. I know my wife came out to her car one day and saw everything open. She didnt realize the opening feature......
  11. Marketing drives everything as well as these gas prices.....
  12. As gas is now around $3.79 to $3.99 here in illegal immigration land the thought of buying anything that gets under 20 miles per gallon just chills me. My truck already sucks that 14 mpg in town and wow does it suck to fill it for $100 or close to it. I would drive the LS and smile....
  13. Hey give us some feedback when the problem is resolved, I know it has a lot of us thinking. good luck
  14. I havent had or heard any issues with the Sams batterys. Make sure all connections are corrosion free.
  15. Since your in california, what kind of battery did you buy? If it was from Kragens, it is still a battery thing. Worst batteries ever. From a lot a experience.....
  16. Blake, ultra thank you, I will leave this problem to you
  17. As for the code, the dealership ship give that to you if you have the vin #, but most locksmith are bonded and can get that info from the dealerships.....
  18. sorry I posted on the other Lexus forum and have got no response, I wonder if your battery has died.... Is the anti theft light still flashing on the dash....??
  19. The tranny are cooled by lines that go into the radiator. The AWD has an external radiator in addition to the regular radiator. Kind of like a long garden hose that is exposed to the air passing by it to cool the fluid inside. The pump in the transmission constantly pushes the transmission fluid to the cooler.
  20. Wont turn, try the passenger door. Maybe you have the wrong key or the valet key. If it doesnt turn in the passenger door than something is wrong with the key. Is it the valet key or a master key. The valet key will not open the trunk or glove compartment, not sure about the doors.
  21. It is not an refrigerant system, It will wear. Maybe there are peddle wheels under the floor board for when the tranny fails.
  22. Hey all you LS owners, help this lady out....
  23. Did you read my last post about going through the motion of locking and unlocking the door with the key. (not the remote)
  24. Put the key in the door and leave it shut, then go through the motion of locking and then un locking the door. I found this on the other lexus site. good luck. by the way that is what the Lexus dealership told this other individual to do and it worked.
