  1. I'm not aware of any kits for the cupholder or the rear-pass thru. Tansupplyman is correct, the fuel tank is there, but I guess someone could make a hole. I doubt the upholstry will be effected if you add a pass thru hole.
  2. that's what I've done. I didn't feel the need to tackle it myself, but right about now it sounds like it's really easy to repair. I know my Climate control unit doesn't turn on until I tell it to. Since I have a 94 and not a 90-92, I can't really tell if they're supposed to be on, or not.
  3. Tracey Nelson: Do me a favour. Turn your stereo on and crank it to maximum. My speakers are working, but something maybe wrong with head unit or the wires. BTW: My SC was in an accident before, and the morons who fixed it scotchtaped it together. I would appreciate it if someone with a 95 SC3 would write down the wire pattern(colours) to the connectors-to the head unit. Thanks a lot in advance.
  4. thanks. Sorry, haven't been able to get to it yet. I'm going to start from the Radio Head Unit, and test every wire (except Negative). I have my doubts if the amp is to blame. Since i lost my sound from all speakers, I have to beleive the head unit may have something to do with it.
  5. It should be. YOu should ask the retailer.
  6. No, I haven't miscalculated the figures. I'm averaging 28mpg, and I drive in the "Washington area traffic with plenty of spirited driving"[sightdev's comments]. My mode average is 70mph and I stay in the right lane most of the time--unless passing. My dad owned this car before me and he was averaging 26-33 (mostly highway mileage). Migirdech: What makes you think auto-manufacturers make unreasonable mileage ratings on the sticker? The factory drivers are trained to take the most aggressive drivings numbers for the sticker. The average person will range near those figures, and the over-achiever will beat those numbers. Sightdev: I agree with your logic, where to get the best gas mileage, but I don't agree with the "miss calculation". Flat land, especially in the Texas Desert helps stabilize, weight dynamics including weight dist., lag, several engine combustions and Latitude, but what most people don't understand is when you press on that throttle, you are leaving a constant speed, and applying more torque--more combustion, and a change in the weight dynamics of the car. There are more factors that apply towards this statement, but I don't have time to go over them. Just in case you're wondering what makes me an expert on this subject, I am a qualified SCCA and FIA Driver. Experience on the track and in the field makes me an expert.
  7. You could also call some of the dealers Upstate, NY. I use New Country Lexus in ALbany. They can ship it to you.
  8. Good troubleshooting guide. Is it off the software or the books?
  9. It sounds like an axle or a CV boot issue. If you can, I would suggest lifting the car up, and look for leaks/cracks between the front two wheels. Record as many visual problems. Start from the wheel/wheelhub-towards the other wheel.
  10. yeah, somebody else from the Midwest mentioned 91 was the highest grade available. Do you guys have SUnocos out there? They offer a 94 grade, and am curious if it's available there. anything above 90 is considered primium fuel, so you're okay. You should think about moving to the east coast. you'll find 93+ here.
  11. Ayan: You can use Regular fuel, but I'd recommend using Octane Booster to increase the grade to 93 and above. Normally I agree with VMF and using 93 only--Manufacturer Specified Grade, but under the circumstances you might have to use it. I think you should buy an econobox or the new PRius, especially since you live in CA.
  12. I'd recommend staying away from the Tokico shocks and H&R springs combination. My LS corners like a whale, and I miss driving my SC on hard corners. Eibachs and KYB shocks--lowered 1.2" would be the best.
  13. You may need to replace the air conditioning unit, but don't quote me on it. I would suggest taking it to a good air conditioning shop, or Toyota to have it checked out.
  14. I think the remote control procedure you're putting up is only for the Gen III LSs. I have my doubts if it would be the same on the Gen I or II cars.
  15. Man that just happened to me as well. If you can wait, I'll have some troubleshooting tips posted. I would suggest getting a good multi-metre tester.
  16. Have you checked with some of our Authorized Trader--MrSypher, Lextasy, and JDMparts_guru. If they don't have it, let me know. I have a couple of sources.
  17. I think you're going to loose your radio stations. :(
  18. Migirdech: http://www.fueleconomy.gov/!Removed!/driveHabits.shtml As you can see in the graph the ideal speed is about 45mph-55mph. About having MPG in upper 20's, wish I could get that much in city or hwy. But then again I have 146,000 miles. But there are alot of people in LOC with very low miles and with excellent maintaince history, they might get that much. Also www.fueleconomy.gov shows that LS400 should get 18mpg city, and 22mpg hwy. Good source. Migirdech: I'm getting upper 20s on my high-mileage LS400. Let's see, it's the LS400, and most of my friends call it a grandpa-mobile, so I drive mine like a grandpa would, with an occasional burst to make sure I'm still alive. <_< Oh yeah, 93 octane doesn't vary from region-to-region. Different companies offer different chemicles with their fuel. The most efficient fuel being used is from Shell, and the Feds use Shell for DOT and EPA ratings.
  19. You could also AIM our resident Lexus Tech--JPI. It almost sounds like too-much fuel is being forced into chamber, and then dropped. From what Moderator VMF is saying, you can get a free code reading at Autozone.
  20. There's no fluid for the Engine Fan. See if the fan moves/wobbles. If it does, it's your fan bracket, not your Fan Clutch. I replaced mine two months ago, and man it was a pain.
  21. that's good. If you want to eliminate the problem you're going to have to change it. If you can tolerate the noise, stay with it, otherwise it might not be a bad idea to save up for the insulation change.
  22. What exactly is a high pitched squealing? Are you referring to a constant wizzing noise or are you listening to a wabbling noise? If it's the wizzing noise, check your fan belts for cracks and general wear. You can spay a little water on it, to see if it does away.
  23. I don't see any why that would be against the rules. You could also check out the gallery to see the insides of the SC3 and 4. Depending on which year you buy will judge the engine compartment. The early 90s--91-94 doesn't come with a dashmount cupholder.
  24. a shop near me built a Cat-back-onwards system for a friend, using Borla marked pipes and mufflers. I haven't come across an exhaust company building a complete kit for anybody.
  25. Welcome to the club. Have you checked your Power steering fluid, lately? Also, it would help if you describe what is happening in details, where are the sounds coming from; any vibrations in the steering wheel?
