  1. I just took some pics today and will post them shortly. I am testing a video module soon so the passanger can watch video in the car on the nav screen or switch to rear camera mode while driving forward. All using the current software on the nav and current buttons on the nav. No additional switches. I will keep everyone posted. So far the Nav has XM Satellite Radio Toyota Module Rear Camera Unit External Amp and Sound system
  2. The camera runs 200 dollars. MB Quarts are the best speakers I have used. I have used them for 10 years now. I tried Diamond and felt the MB's were better. The camera is ECLIPSE camera but works perfectly with the toyota nav system I have. It is a plug and play camera. No cutting at all with the toyota nav.
  3. I finished my project ... almost. Took my wife's es300 apart and to the already installed Toyota Nav system, I added a Eclipse BEC-104 Camera for rear vision. It automatically activates when car is in reverse. It's a plug and play affair since the manufacturer is the same between the Toyota Nav and the Eclipse counterpart. I removed the Factory JBL amplifier and ran the line outs to the trunk. The nav has ONLY line level outputs. No speaker lever outputs. I then routed these to the Epicenter in the rear which then goes into the Audio control 2xs x-over feeding a Xtant amplifier running all the speakers. Front speakers are MB quart reference speakers. I wanted to try diamond audio speakers and addded those to the rear. I was not impressed with these. The Epicenter control is mounted in the glovebox. The sub is the factory crap pioneer at the moment. Soon to be changed out. Rear view mirror has been changed out to a auto-dimming/compass mirror All the audio components are mounted in a custom enclosure in the trunk. Pictures to follow of everything....
  4. I had the same problem on my dad's 95. Cleaned it with berryman's cleaner and it works fine now. no error.
  5. flush the sucker. I did the same and it runs much better now.
  6. i bought my 97 in mint condition with 112k miles for 7400 dollars, 6 months ago.
  7. TO get a bluish tinge, you need 5000k bulbs atleast and perhaps 6000k bulbs. Any higher than 6k, you will lose intensity and move to the purplish range which is useless.
  8. replacing the dog bone on my 94 ES cured the problem mostly and I suspect that if I change the front engine mount, it will get rid of it.
  9. Replace BOTH CV Joint and BOOT. Replacing the boot alone with grease may cure the problem for a short while but the problem will remain. The Joint needs to be replaced.
  10. belt squeels can sound like metal rubbing also. The ES has a electric fan.
  11. ah yes you can do that. You may need to replace valve cover gaskets also on a car with that mileage though.
  12. I replaced the cam and crank seals on my dad's car. Search the forum for timing belt replacement. Once you get the belt off, take off the pullies. I use a special sproket holding tool from snap on. Some people use a chain wrench. I think they are 17mm bolts on each cam pulley. Since you're leaking so much oil, the seals should come out easy. If I remember correctly, you have to remove the valve covers. I am not sure in this so if someone can chime it, it would help. There is not really anything else you can replace while you're doing this. Maybe the valve cover gaskets.
  13. but, there may be a unit that will be able to remove it soon. It plugs into the rear harness. No cutting at all. I will keep all updated on this.
  14. Yes, you can use zaino with a PC but you will use quite a bit more polish than a cloth. Check zaino website for more info.
  15. I think I paid 250 for all of them. I will post pics later.
  16. That would be incorrect. Nappa is uncoated. And before a certain date were coated. Can't remember when.
  17. I have been using leatherique products for leather care for a very long time now. It's the best natural stuff you can get. It has the ability of turning cardboard hard leather into soft leather. I have personal expierence with it. It works great and would recommend it to anyone. Only drawback is that you have to let it soak into your seats for hours. I usually let it sit for 2 days. Or do the rear seats first and then front covered in large bags. www.leatherique.com is the site.
  18. I use zaino polish. Very good stuff. www.zainobros.com I have the same porter cable polisher also. Excellent unit!
