  1. I just picked up a 2004 LX470 THe truck is immaculate single owner truck with a full 10 page service history from a lexus dealer. It came with night view and overhead dvd player, bluetooth. I wanted to know Did any year of the lx470 come with xenon. If not, does anyone know why??? What components would I have to change out to make the xm radio work as 2005 trucks have? I upgraded to the lx570 wheels so far, changed out all my fluids and filters.
  2. Bump... I replaced the Ignitor and still same problem. Engine dies and shows Ignitor Circuit Malfunction code p1300. Any ideas?????
  3. I have a 95 es300 with 216k miles. All services done. No leaks. No other issues. Timing belt, water pump, plugs, cam and crank seals, done at 160k. Now I have a check engine light and the engine stalled 5 times this morning. Code is p1300 igniter circuit malfunction. Is it the igniter itself or could it be something else downstream such as a CAT? I also have a shift solonoid code in there for quite some time now and need or get that ordered soon.
  4. my 95 has 201000 miles on it. just replaced the power steering hoses.
  5. there are no bulbs. search the forums.
  6. It can be done but I would suggest you get you get your parts on ebay. You will need a new clock spring in the steering column, and running 3 wires to the stereo. The buttons work via resistor values. You can get wiring diagrams on the online toyota/lexus guide. It costs 10 bucks per day of access.
  7. I have had to replace both valve cover gaskets in both of my ES cars.
  8. I spoke with TRD USA and they told me the supercharger install should be ok except the ECU may not be willing to adapt to it. They not tested it in the lexus. But it should bolt on! Now the problems begin. Since I got the supercharger alone, I still need the idler plate and pullies. I have the OEM DAYCO part numbers for the pullies and I have pics of the idler plate. I can order the pullies but TRD or Toyota NO LONGER carries any more parts for this supercharger. Parts are getting rare now. There are sources for all the bolts though which I will order soon. Where the heck will I get this idler plate now! IT's made from aluminum.
  9. Now that I remember, you have to cut the mute wire off the factory harness as the amp thinks there is a mute signal coming through and stops all the audio.
  10. That's pretty much what I expect but I will be doing a fuel system upgrade to get rid of the pinging I anticipate with this unit. That will come from Gadget at www.urdusa.com
  11. 97-99 DOES NOT have backlit mirror controls. Not sure on 00-01 though. If you did have the arrows light up before, replace the minature bulb.
  12. Well, it looks like your amp is not getting power probably. Since you have a 2000 ES with pioneer Amp, how did you power it up? Your car should not have a 20pin connector already as far as I know. I initially installed the pioneer amp with the nav but was not happy with the sound so I got the original JBL amp and used it instead. Sounds much better. The nav unit does NOT have any power for the speakers. They are all line level outputs with a common ground for all 4 channels.
  13. Update : The supercharger is on it's way now. I will attempt to mount it next and keep you guys posted. It will be another 6-8 days before I can try it though which will give it enough time to arrive to my door.
  14. i did a similar test on my car, 97ES300 with 140,000 miles. Tried 91 octane for 1500 miles and got a average of 21.5 city driving. Then reset ECU and tried 87 octane for 1500 miles. City driving again. Got a average of 21.0 I did get some pinging under acceleration when using the 87 grade. I switched to 89 and it runs fine now and that is what I use as well.
  15. great then. besides the pinging, there is no real major issue then. I will use some of the split second stuff as well probably. I have known of Gadget several years ago when I had my tacoma. He helped me quite a bit with it way before urdusa.com Since the unit will bold right on, why has Toyota left the ES out of the list of approved cars?
  16. does vvt really make that much difference to me? the charger is suppose to add 60hp out of the box on the camry. I am not sure the stock hp on a v6 camry but i believe mine is 180hp.
  17. I've decided to take the plunge and got a 1mzfe supercharger for my 97ES with 140,000 miles. The car has been maintainted by myself and all maintaince done at regular interverals. I know it has been discussed a few times before but is there anything that I should know before taking the plunge. A few issues I know about are 1. Hood Clearance. I can take care of this at a body shop 2. Pinging - high flow injecters. Most probably from urdusa.com The kit runs 1000 dollars 3. Intake Manifold Problem? I am not sure on the intake manifold but if it is a problem, Can i swap the camry unit to my car? I assume this and the hood clearance may be the reason tha TRD left the es out of the list of supported cars. If the supercharger does fit over the stock intake manifold, will this be ok then? are there any other problems?
  18. The dvd player plays cds, mp3's, and movies. I have the audio wired to the nav unit and the video wired to a screen in the back. You can get the nav from Troy at OEMVALUE. Get a camry nav unit. You can use your factory pioneer amp but you will have a small noise problem which I could not tolerate. I then switched to a JBL factory toyota amp with harness which you can get from Troy as well. It comes with harness. The only thing you will have to do is wire the speakers to the amp. Search various toyota forums for help. Especially the sienna forums. I have a blaupunkt mE3 player custom installed in the glovebox. I removed the JBL amp and installed a Xtant amp in the trunk later.
  19. You cannot use the factory changer as it interfaces differently. It is NOT compatable. I chucked it out and installed a dvd player in the glovebox and overhead display. The sound is hooked to the nav unit with a special adapter. Basically a hardwired aux input. I mounted the nav antenna in the rear under the shelf behind the rear seat. I did not want any visible wires or antennas in the car. I have used the car like this for abour 40,000 miles with no problems. My sat radio antenna is also mounted in the same place.
  20. great you got it to work. DId you get a trim piece as as well? Mine can be seen at http://homepage.mac.com/drsunilpatel/PhotoAlbum19.html
  21. THe toyota/lexus nav that I have in my car is by far the BEST nav system I have ever used. I have a dvd based one in my mercedes, tried tomtom, garmin, acura, etc. The toyota is so detailed. It uses POI data from INFOUSA which is probably the largest database for points of interest. Also, one dvd covers the entire USA. The lexus/toyota nav is made by Eclipse Fujitsu 10. All the plugs on the rear of both the Eclipse unit and the Toyota unit are the same but function differently. I have added a Eclipse rear view camera to my unit as well which is plug and play. Also added the voice control system, which has too many comands to list here and actually not very accurate when voicing comands. THe unit is a 6.5" widescreen unit which can be adapted to display video on screen as well with the proper adapter. I have the factory XM tuner installed as well. The unit is pretty much plug and play except for 3 wires. I am not sure how the newer es cars are wired but here is what you will need: Get a newer Nav system WITHOUT the GRAY BUTTON ON THE LEFT LOWER SIDE These units support the SAT radio feature and some of the units with the GRAY button require a external DVD rom drive for the map cd. The newer units are ALL IN ONE. You will REQUIRE a GPS antenna as well which uses the HIROSE connector which are used on most alpine, eclipse, and pioneer nav units. The power connector should be a direct fit The audio connector should be a direct fit on 2002 and newer cars. You can add a ECLIPSE BEC-104 Rear view camera at this time as well. It's plug and play. You can add a XM Tuner unit as well and that's plug and play as well. You will require to obtain 3 wires and tap them into the 5 pin connector on the rear of the nav. the connector may or may not be included with your nav unit. I am not sure on the position of the wires but you need to tap in to pins 1, 3, 5. They are used for speed signal, parking brake, and reverse wire. THe speed signal is REQUIRED to tell the nav unit how fast you are going. The reverse wire is not absolutely necessary but will tell the nav unit when in reverse so it's a bit more accurate. Also, this wire IS required when using a reverse camera. The parking brake wire is only required when this unit is used with a rear entertainment package. I have not found any other use for it. Most of the accessories are plugged into the DATA BUS port. Accessories such as the tuner or cd changer. 2002 and newer ES cars will also require a new dash trim panel.
  22. I installed a factory nav in my 97 and yes it can be done to 2002 and later models as well as it was a option in those cars to begin with. http://homepage.mac.com/drsunilpatel/PhotoAlbum19.html
  23. check mine out. www.mercdocs.com under the lexus section
  24. I have 132,000 miles on my 97 and getting 30 in the highway and 20 in the city.
  25. actually there is a way to bypass the I agree disclaimer if you have a 2 piece navigation unit. meaning the drive seperate. There is a bypass adapter which will allow you to skip the i agree and input destination while driving. the company is www.coastaletech.com
