I reset the MPG screen at each fill-up. The best I have gotten on a whole tank is 32-33 mpg on a drive down the Oregon coast in the summer (55 mph speed limit).
You should try the waiting for parking thing with the car OFF (or accessory) and compare mpg to when you let it idle in 'ready' mode.
I happen to live closest to this Tacoma/Fife dealer also, but have never been there (car was purchased from another dealer by 1st owner). Do you think they will give me a loaner vehicle when I eventually have to take in my 400h for the inverter recall? (intelligent power module replacement)
My input on the extended warranty: Don't buy it, set the $2000 (or whatever it would cost) aside in an interest-bearing savings account, in case something fails and needs to be replaced. You probably won't need to use it since these cars are so reliable, so you come out way ahead. :)
Did you unclog the drain? If you can get it cleaned up and there's no mold, you probably don't need to replace anything, as long as the drain is clear now.
I "angel eyed" my fog lights (stuck on white LED rings on the chrome rings), but I don't think it's worth cracking open the headlights for angel eyes. Plus when they go bad you have to do it all over again.
While you're in there, add some LED bulbs to make the whole lens light up at night. I did it to mine. Had to drill out the back portion and add a new socket.
The VIN is all over the car on most major components (doors, engine, etc). The easiest place to look is on the dash near the bottom of the windshield on the driver side, on a stamped/etched tag, from outside the car.
I agree. I hate getting washer fluid all over my clean hood when all I want to do is clear the frost off the windshield. The headlight washers only work if the headlights are on. It's hard to remember to turn off the lights before using the windshield washers.
Interesting. On my Prius, when the batteries became overcharged when driving downhill, the ICE would go into an automatic start/stop cycle to bleed excess charge from the hybrid batteries. But the battery cooling blower never came on. Was the engine running when you let it sit with the battery cooling blowers on full blast?
The windows have to be initialized if the battery is disconnected or if the window controls are disconnected. Go to each window control at each door and run it all the way down then up. The driver door controls should then work normally.
All the warranties stay with the car and transfer to any subsequent owners. 48mo/50,000mi bumper to bumper, 72mo/70,000mi power train, and 96mo/100,000mi hybrid system. I confirmed this when I bought mine used.
The RX400h does not support MP3 files on DVD. I got it to work with a DVD-Audio disc which is a special format (not just regular music burned to a DVD). I don't think Nero can create this format.
DVD-A format
