  1. Maybe a loose connector behind the buttons/clock area? Did you buy a salvage/rebuilt title RX?
  2. It did not work on my 07 RX400h either. Unfortunately, the manual does not show it will play this type of disc. 6 CDs of MP3s is a lot of music though.

  4. Best thing would be to take a speaker out, and on the back you should find the Ohm rating. You can often find the exact replacement speakers (new or used) on eBay for a fraction of the dealer price. Also check out parts.com for OEM parts at much better prices than the dealer. Removing the door panel and speaker is not too hard. Hopefully they are held in with screws rather than rivets, or you will have to drill out the rivets to remove the speaker.
  5. From the repair manual CD. They're in Adobe SVG format on the disc, but when you go to print them, they get converted to PDF.
  6. No dipstick for the hybrid transaxle fluid. Just drain and fill plugs.
  7. Closing the moonroof sliding cloth cover can reduce wind noise in that area. I would try that if you haven't yet. I also recently bought the Yokohama Parada Spec-X tires, and they are so quiet that I hear wind noise that was previously masked by tire noise!
  8. They also charged me $20 ($5 per tire) to "reset the TPMS system" which I thought was bogus. I don't think anything was actually done to reset anything. I've rotated the tires and didn't have to reset the sensors with the button under the dash. I only used that button to learn the new pressure when inflating them higher than the standard pressure.
  9. Good parts reference: http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/q_U_2006_LEXUS_RX400H_all.html (MHU33L = 2WD, MHU38L = AWD) OEM parts at good prices: http://www.parts.com/oemcatalog/index.cfm?action=getPartLocator&siteid=2&makeid=20&year=2006&model=RX%20400h Also I would recommend buying a repair manual CD on eBay. It has all the step by step instructions and wiring diagrams you will need.
  10. Hi Russell, I'm across the Sound in Poulsbo. I believe the reinitialization is a general procedure for any time you disconnect the battery to reset some systems. I think it only applies to the 2006 model and I have an '07. I've never had to do this, but I included it because it was in the repair manual. So you want to remove the inverter because of a small dent? Seems like a lot of work if the car is running fine. That's one of those things I would only try if there was a real problem observed.
  11. I've attached the inverter install/removal, precautions, and intialization procedures from the service manual. Inverter Removal.pdf Inverter Install.pdf Inverter Precautions.pdf Initialization Procedure.pdf
  12. Here's the diagram. Audio System Non-ML.pdf
  13. I should be able to post a wiring diagram. Do you have Mark Levinson or not? I believe the factory amp needs to be left intact for navigation functions to work correctly.
  14. Did they keep the TPMS valve stem sensor with the new tire? You should be able to reset the TPMS system by holding down the TPMS button under the dash for a few seconds when turning the car on.
  15. I recently got new tires and they don't replace the permanent TPMS sensors (integrated with the metal valve stem), but they charged me ($3 each) for some kind of service kit for the TPMS sensors. I'm not sure exactly what was part of the kit but it's specific to each type of vehicle with TPMS.
  16. Well I live in the rainy Northwest and don't have any leaks in my 2007. Was your car previously in a collision? Salvage/rebuilt title?
  17. The rear doors have separate tweeters in front of the woofers, for a total of 11 speakers. There is no sub, but the front door speakers are like mini subs (which sound surprisingly good for paper cone woofers). Mine sounds pretty crisp. I usually keep bass +3 or +4, mid -2, and treble +2. I think the best DSP setting is "driver" which widens the soundstage compared to the other positions, which sound flat to me.
  18. I thought I was experiencing this problem yesterday, but it turned out I wasn't in "ready" and had shifted to R to pull out of a parking spot. It wouldn't let the key turn to "off" with the gear selector in R, and I thought the key was stuck. Does anyone else have the car occasionally not go to "ready" when you try to start it? Maybe I didn't hold it in the start position long enough.
  19. I got a postcard from Lexus that says it's $199.99 plus installation fees if applicable.
  20. If you do a manual swipe after the first set of automatic swipes, it will cancel the extra delayed swipe.
  21. There is a setting in one of the menus for something like "auto switch to navigation" that sounds like it needs to be changed since you updated.
  22. Yeah I had it down the other day. There are 2 screws under small plastic covers in the sunglass compartment, and 2 more under the dome light cover (pry the cover off with a small flat screwdriver). Then it falls down and the connector is on the right side. At least this is how it is on my 07 with a sunroof.
  23. You can login to the My Lexus website and get all the manuals for your car anytime. You can even keep track of service performed. All you need is the VIN to register. https://secure.drivers.lexus.com/lexusdrivers/my-lexus/home.do
  24. Are your keys really worn or something? Have you tried inserting the key 180° from normal, to engage the grooves on the other side? The keys have the same grooves cut on both sides. Just a thought.
