  1. Check your turnk. You should have received a mounting bracket with the purchase of the IS. Also the dealee should have asked you if you wanted it mounted or not. In some cases they even have you sign a statement saying the you the owner did not want the bracket installed. In short, check your trunk for the install kit. If you did not have the kit just go back to the dealer and request it. It is the law, not matter what state you live for the Lexus dealer to supply you with this kit. Or just leave it off. However, just to give both sides of the coin, you could get a ticket for no front plate. Keep us post. Good Luck
  2. Thank you for posting this site. If you look through all of the Lexus model fourms you will see that every one has a question like this. So that said i will now refer this web site when going over the fourms about this topic. :D :D :D
  3. You may want to contact Todd Minette at Lexus of Westminster at 714-892-6906. This guy has always been fair to anybody that has gone to him. He works in fleet sales, so there is no worries of being beat up on price. Give him a call and see what he can do for you. Keep me posted on this, i would like to know how thins work out for you.
  4. The dealer would never touch an issue like this. there are too many legal issues behind it. I am not saying i would not want to do this myself. that being said, i have a link for you to check out. This link is for the LX 470, but you could look into it more to find out if the wires would be the same. Keep me posted on this, i would like to see how it works for. Good Luck. http://forums.vmag.com/suvlc0199/messages/2488.html
  5. With the set up you stated, you will not lose all the body roll, but most will be gone. This is a good set up by the way.
  6. As long as the service has been kept up on the GS 50k is nothing. If you find one that you like, take the VIN number to a Lexus dealer and ask the service guys to look up th VIN as long as you tell them you may buy the car and that you want to know the service history for it, they should not have a problem. Good Luck
  7. Lexus is aware of this problem. If i remember correctly, i read some thing about the rear air hold the haedlight unit being too small. Please do not quote me on this. However, i have a friend that had this same problem and he was under factory warranty still. So he took his 99 GS 400 back to the dealer to find out what could be done. After a brief talk with the service mgr. the following saturday he had new head lights installed under warranty. You may want to check on this as well.Good Luck
  8. Where are you located. I have some contact information for different Lexus outlets all over the US, but i need your location.
  9. I have an idea for you. You may want to try and find a set of the factory Supra brakes. They are a good set up on the GS's. Or if you want to spend a bit more go for the stop tech. Rod Millen is a great compnay but try the supra brakes route and save a few $$. As far as spring. If that is all you would like to do on a factroy shock, L-tuned and Ebach are two good ways of getting that lowered look. If you would like to go all out on the suspention look into tein cs spec. coil-overs. This system is a great set-up. The bottom line is that there are so many ways that you could go that it will most likely come down to how much you would like to spend. Keep me update.
  10. http://www.sp-power.com/main.htm contact SP. These guys are the gods of the 2JZA80GTE swaps. They produce some of the best work i have ever seen. They make it look easy. These are the same guys that put the 2JZ motor into the 93-96 RX-7 body. The motor is pushing over 850 hp to the wheels. Give them a call and see what they can do for you.
  11. There are so many rumors going around about the new GS series of car, but Toyota Corp. has not stated what changes are coming for the US model. One thing the tey did confirm is the fact they may drop the 6cyl. motor from the GS. But even this is a rumor going around Toy/Lex corp. Botton line is we all will just need to wait a bit longer.
  12. Take it to a pro and save yourself the trouble..
  13. You may want to just upgrade your suspention. I am about 80% sure that TEIN offers a system for your car. They do have a US office. You can contact them at 562-633-7387. Give'em a call may be they could help you out.
