Not that I would disable this feature, but I just took a look at the link for,"#09 DIY Disable Day Time Running light (3 min mod) (11/1/02)", but it's not a link. Where is the description of how it's done?

I drove from NYC to Minneapolis(about 1200 miles) using "high test". On my return trip I used "regular". My gas mileage was virtually the same, and I didn't notice any improvement in performance using the "high test"!! The odometer mileage at the start of this trip was approximately 3000 miles('03 ES300). ;)

What kind of damage was done to your car? Did you tell them about this damage immediately after the car came out of the wash? In any case, if it's worth the bother, you can take them to small claims court. Also, get an estimate of the repair cost.

That's strange.......both my '94 & '03 ES's had a high-low switch for the heated seats.

About 1 year ago I traded in my '94 ES and the dealer allowed me $8000. The car was in immaculate condition and it had only 53K miles. All the dealer had to do was minor detailing. The car was then put up for sale and was sold in less then 1 week for $10,000.

That light means that you have burned out bulb(s) in your tailight. When they're replaced the indicator light will go out. ;)

There is an ideal road speed where you get the best gas mileage. The main factor is wind resistance. Think of it this way........when you drive up a hill the engine works harder to keep up the speed, therefore your mileage goes down, as opposed to going down a hill(coasting). ;)

The Lexus dealers should have in stock an Instruction Manual on a CD disc to explain the operation of the 2004 NAV system.

Lexus has never had an OEM spoiler for ES's. All the individual Lexus dealers use spoiler's from various manufacturers. This is one of them: Spoilerdepot.com

Sounds like the trunk hinges are sprung. This can happen if while opening the trunk a strong wind makes the trunk lid open very quickly with a lot of force. An auto body shop could re-align this problem, otherwise you might be able to order new hinges from Lexus. I say, "might " because a manufacturer is not required to supply parts for a car over 7 years old. Good luck!

If you took it out you'd probably hear more distortion at high volume levels, but this is assuming that the filter is used as a low frequency cutoff. I don't think it could hurt anything if you tried removing it though. ;)

A bass cutoff removes the extreme low frequencies(below about 30hz) that you wouldn't normally hear anyway, but sucks up the amplifiers power and uses this power for the audible range of frequencies. As I said before, if nobody here can answer your question, get in touch with the manufacturer of the automobile.

Toyota calls this a noise filter, but it's probably a bass cutoff filter that's used to prevent overloading the speakers at very low frequencies. You could call the Toyota Corporation or your Lexus parts dealer and give them the part number and ask them what it's used for.

Certain interior parts from a "90-"91 ES250 are similar to the "90-"91 Toyota Camry, but they might need slight modifications to fit into your car. "94 ES300 interior parts will NOT fit unless you do drastic modifications. ;)

You answered your own question.....if they are completely different cars then the parts, seats, electronics, engines, etc. WON'T FIT! :chairshot: I bought a new ES250 in 1991 and when I traded it in, in 1994 for an ES300, I compared all the different parts.....they were WAY different. If you're looking for new wheels for an ES250 try looking at custom wheels for a 1991 Camry. ;)

See, I knew that my friend steviej would come through for me. I'll even drive up to Scituate, MA to pick up the copies.......it's only about 250 miles from me. Although, I heard that engine gelling affects all the Lexus's in the Boston area. hee hee

I sure did, but they NEVER have the Shop Manuals for 2003 ES's. But that's OK.......when steviej buys his, I'll borrow them. :D

You could also do this when the engine is running, but the transmission must be in the "Park" position.

How about around $300 for the set from Lexus parts. That's what I was quoted for the full set.

The only way you're going to get this information is through a Lexus Shop Manual. In certain cases, I've known that some(nice) guys in the Lexus parts department will make copies of these pages, otherwise it's pretty expensive to buy this manual. ;)
