  1. God bless you and all your fellow soldiers as you get ready to depart. Hallelujah and here's to hamburgers and pizza made in the good ol' USA!! e-hugs!
  2. I was touched by your post and will carry little NC211 in my prayers until I hear you're out of the woods! I can tell he's definitely in good, loving, caring hands and will also pray for Mommy and Daddy. Blessings!
  3. LOL - five years later - have you had to "WARN" any of us?? :o
  4. Hi and welcome! I've been blessed, we've always had new automobiles...and nice ones at that. My first experience with Lexus began in 2000 when my then-husband bought a used 1993 ES300 from the original owner. She was selling her Lexus because it's 7 year warranty was up. That car ran perfectly! In 2002, along with my freedom, I got our Lexus. During a service check-up, my wonderful dealership loaned me a 2003 ES300 and I loved it! What's not to love in a car that's 10 years newer, right? RIGHT! I too had a little cash burning a hole in my pocket and no one to tell me not to - so i said 'why not?' and drove home in the most beautiful Mystic Sea/Charcoal int., 2003 ES300 and have been thrilled ever since. She's a keeper! Drives great, routine maintenance, no problems. Hope this helps! Now - tell me, what did you finally do...since i notice your post was 05/29/2006, nearly 3 years ago??? LOL Karen from NorCal ;)
  5. Try this: Test 1 1- Drive at a normal speed 2- Take your foot off the accelerator(as if you're in stop & go traffic) 3- When the car decelerates to about 2 mph or lower, press the accelerator normally(not flooring it), and see if the car goes into a lower gear immediately, or it hunts for a gear to go into and then lurches forward. Test 2 1- Drive at approximately 40 mph. 2- Floor accelerator quickly(as if you need to pass another car in a hazardous situation in a hurry). 3- Check that the car goes into a lower gear immediately or there is a rise in engine rpm's while the car is figuring out what gear to go into. This is the hesitation that we're talking about. This is another test where this car fails miserably. There are ways to overcome these problems by driving in a certain manner, but in certain cases you don't have the time or wherewithal to concentrate on "nursing" this weird transmission shifting behavior. Wow - I just became aware of a "trannie" problem when i took my '03 ES300 in for reconditioning. I bought a 2003 loaner w/ 15K on it. This was the 1st i had heard about it and definitely felt overwhelmed and concerned after spending considerable $$$ on what i thought was a luxury car. While being worked on, Lexus of Pleasanton loaned me a '04 with less than 2K on it and the difference was PHENOMINAL! Talk about smooth and luxurious!!! I couldn't get over how different the engine/transmission is. Effortless and silky smooth. Maybe it's just my imagination, but the '03 seems rather 'immature' (rougher) compared to the newer '04. I loved reading all 10 pages & knowing i'm not alone - thanks everyone for your imput!! :) specially the 2 tests posted. IMHO better to be informed than to stay stubbornly ignorant.
  6. You've come to the right place. I found my 2003 brochure, thanks to the generosity of StevieJ - keep the faith :D
  7. Hi StevieJ- A great big THANK YOU! :D &... I got the brochure along with all the goodies & you definitely will be hearing from me Again, thanks for all your help!!! A very grateful ES300 owner :) ~ Karen
  8. Wow - really?? Luck of the draw, if you will then :P I just contacted Lexus cust. svc. and my interior is listed as "gray" not light charcoal leather, as the brochure states...but LA17 is the code just in case i need it. So, i guess i have a VERY rare car - makes me love it even more-- : ;) : --if that's possible. (Can you tell i'm a female!!! How do you know this is a VERY rare car?? If i may be so bold as to ask. Karen
  9. StevieJ - you are too kind :D Thanks a bunch! SIDENOTE: B) I attended the Geisha exhibit tonight @ the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco & something in the brochure caught my eye & I'll share it with you. "KIMONO Kimonos are a geisha's most prized possesssion and the most important tool of her trade....What makes the geisha costume attractivbe it its aesthetic ideal of understatement; its essence is a delicate balance of beauty and simplicity. This sense of style is often compared to the French concept of 'chic." Now - maybe it's just me and i'm smitten with my car - but doesn't that sound like a great description of our ES300??!! Karen ps - how clever of you to remove certain info that was TMI for most everyone else! ty
  10. Great! I'm so happy My address is Karen Address Removed by steviej Please - all you looking at this - DO NOT ADD me to any lists - thanks! ;) Again, StevieJ, thanks so much for such prompt & so-Lexus-like friendliness :P Warmly Karen
  11. Hi Stevie, :D Guess i'm kind of confused - - you have a 2003 ES300 brochure, even though you have a 2002 ES300?? If indeed you have the 2003 Lexus ES300 brochure, and are kind enough & willing to part with it (it's the paper brochure, not the CD -right?) - i'll be more than happy to give it a loving, caring and safe home *g Let me know. My email is carnahanclan@comcast.net or you can tele me @ 925-209-1714. Much thanks! Karen (PLS)
  12. Hi there! I too live in the East Bay (Pleasanton) & I just upgraded/updated my '93 ES300 to an '03 ES300 and then found this site! Anyone else out there interested in doing fun things with their ES300, whatever that may be? Hint~I'm NOT a teenager interested in modifying/changing my 'baby' but that doesn't make me all bad, does it ;) I'm looking for a new car brochure for my '03 ES300 - anyone know where i can find one?? KarenPLS
  13. ;) I need YOUR help! I just acquired my new '03 Lexus ES300 and am seeking the brochure that came out in the fall of '02. Anyone out there have one that they can part with? I've tried Google, e-bay and still no luck. However, thanks to Lexus.ca, i can view my car online, but only online and it's a Canadian brochure to boot. Much thanks ~ Karen from No.Calif. (East Bay area)
