  1. This will explain it better> http://www.kaltire.com/commercial/medium_t...res/cupping.php
  2. In what condition are your tires? There could be slight "cupping" on the tread that could be causing this noise. I would try rotating the offending tire to the rear and see if you still hear this noise.
  3. That depends on what part of the country you're located. The option packages change from the East Coast to the West Coast and areas in between. Originally, I tried getting AVS on the top package in NYC, but I was told that would be a special order and would take a long time to get, so I just forgot it. :cries:
  4. I'm so freaked out about strange sounds also. I noticed when I was parking my car I heard a clicking sound which didn't sound normal.......until I discovered it was the button on my jacket sleeve hitting the steering wheel when I turned it to park the car. I was ready to bring it into Lexus Service. heehee :D
  5. I wish the ML sound system had an equalizer to change the characteristics from classical to jazz to pop, etc. for these types of music. The tone controls are much too coarse to change the frequency curves to my liking. Like a one button push to a pre-determined curve would be nice.
  6. LOL........Probably just some wishful thinking. :D
  7. Read this> http://www.carcarecouncil.org/Drivetrain/cv_joints.shtml
  8. The fact that the CV boot is already ripped, the CV joint itself might have already been ruined because of dirt and water, so replacing the boot won't help at this point. On factory type boots the driveaxle has to be removed as opposed to aftermarket split boots, like the kind you've seen on eBay. The CV joint should be checked for proper operation before replacing the boot. ;)
  9. Could be a defective constant velocity(CV) joint on the driveaxle. This could be checked by a shop that deals with front end repairs or Lexus Service.
  10. I don't consider an exciting interior the criterion for buying a car. Example: My brother-in-law's Bentley hasn't got an "exciting" interior either, but I'd still prefer owning it. :)
  11. No comparison to the LS430! B)
  12. I'd like to mention that I used a Verizon DSL connection for many years. During that time I had a lot of outages and speed slowdowns. The very best I could do speedwise was about 700kbps down and 90kbps up. I finally switched to a cable connection(Optimum Online) about 6 month ago, and during that time I had 1 outage that lasted less then an hour. This is a screen capture that shows the type of speeds I'm getting, day or night. I think you'll have to agree that it blows DSL away. ;)
  13. Isn't the price of the Acura RL much higher then the ES 330 with similar equipment? :whistles:
  14. 0-60mph: 8.6 seconds (a/t) 8.0 seconds (5spd) 1/4 mile: 16.7 seconds Top Speed: 130mph
  15. Remember the expression, "Cheap is Dear". In other words, don't even consider buying it. IMO :whistles:
  16. Where's the picture? ← I can't get the picture to work. edit: Ok here is another. ← Nice 'lil doggy........here's a milk bone for you.
  17. What year ES are you talking about? :whistles:
  18. Changing this filter will not guaranty that you won't get the stale, moldy, smell out of your car. They sell chemicals that are sprayed inside the ducts to kill the mold which is what your smelling. Read more about it here> http://autorepair.about.com/cs/heatingac/a/aa071601a.htm
  19. Lexus top brand overall, in J.D. Power survey. Read this> http://money.cnn.com/2004/10/14/pf/autos/apeal/index.htm
  20. If you're looking for the harness that had the wires to the trunk lock out switch, it's probably behind the glove box. You have to remove the inside lining of the glove box to retrieve these wires. If that switch was removed, they had to join the two wires together to allow the release button on the drivers side to actuate the trunk release mechanism.
  21. All front end parts from a 1990 Camry are interchangeable on your Lexus.
  22. Sorry, I disagree with this statement: "Belt inspection is not a reliable method of determining when to change the belt." Even if a belt looks good after the time a manufacturer states to change it, the plasticisers have dried up making the belt somewhat brittle. I wouldn't take the chance of it happening. ;)
