  1. Thanks sk! Ill check it out tommorrow.
  2. I just want to say that I was absolutely wrong on my O2 sensor identification, so for the sake of honesty, here is the corrected version. I have a 1994 ES300. I bought the ElmScan(by the way, the 94 es300 uses the VPW protocol) interface from Scantool.net because my check engine light was on(because of a shot oxygen sensor), and I wanted to see which sensor it was. I disconnected each sensor, and checked the scantool software to see which one was not functioning. So heres what I came up with. The one right in front, above the oil filter is Bank 2, Sensor 1. The one near the firewall is Bank 1, Sensor 1 and the one mounted on the exhaust pipe after the catalytic converter is Bank 1, Sensor 2. It ends up the one that is shot on my car is Bank 1, Sensor 2. My only problem is this, the wires for Bank 1, Sensor 2 go up into the car itself, looks like underneath the front seat, meaning the harness is not exposed, so I can't disconnect it. Anyone have experience with changing this sensor on a '94? Any tips would be much appreciated. Elazar
  3. If you're looking for the harness that had the wires to the trunk lock out switch, it's probably behind the glove box. You have to remove the inside lining of the glove box to retrieve these wires. If that switch was removed, they had to join the two wires together to allow the release button on the drivers side to actuate the trunk release mechanism. ← Exactly my problem, the driver side door button does not work. I looked behind the glove box(stick my head underneath it, behind the dash) but I couldn't find anything that was disconnected.
  4. Heres a strange problem for you: I have a 1994 ES300 which for some reason is missing the trunk actuator button. This is the little button in the glove box which allows you to disable the trunk release button on the drivers side door. It seems the previous owner of my car had replaced the glove box(the car was in a minor accident when he had it, and the airbag deployed, this could be why) and got rid of the button all together. My question is, where is the location of the wire harness that the button attaches to? If someone could help me with this, it would be much appreciated. The best would be if someone has a diagram from a repair manual. Thanks, Elazar
  5. Got the same problem, dont know what it is either, but if I find out I'll let you know. In the meantime, check your fuses, theres about 3 of them that have to do with the cruise control. elazar
  6. xxxavier2k, What exactly do you mean by the steering bushings, i.e. what is their exact name, and where are they located?
  7. Check my post, maybe will help you a bit. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...t=0entry73738
  8. ivrule, Your car is non OBD2 compliant, so code 28 means the main oxygen sensors(Bank 1, which is under the hood, don't know how many sensors you have though). For OBD2 compliant cars, the error code is usually P0136 or P0139. Heres a great resource for Lexus error codes http://www.troublecodes.net/Lexus/. Hope this helps!
  9. Bank 1 is usually in front of the car(under the hood), and Bank 2 is after the catalytic converter. I have a '94 ES300 which has 3 sensors, one(Bank 1, Sensor ?), is right in front, mounted on the front exhaust manifold, and one(Bank 1, Sensor ?) is in the back engine area, mounted on the rear exhaust manifold(right in front of the firewall), and one(Bank 2, Sensor 1) is after the catalytic converter(under the front seating area). Hope this helps!
  10. I am assuming the end link is the stabilizer links, that correct?
  11. Hello, I have a '94 ES300 which I got without a remote or a remote key. The key that I use is just a regular key. I know the car has an alarm though(set it off a couple of times, and it has the volume control for it next to the mirror control). I was wondering how I would go about getting a remote for the car. Would an aftermarket remote from Autozone work, or do I have to get a Lexus OEM remote? If someone could enlighten me on this, it would be much appreciated. Thanks, Elazar
  12. Hi, I am a little new to this club, but I did some searching before I posted this. I have a 1994 Lexus ES300, bought it used, 125,000mi. It had some problems when I bought it, cracked headlight assembly, the steering wheel was crooked(took it in for a MAJOR alignment, and that fixed it.), and it needed an oxygen sensor. I repaired all of the problems, but I still seem to have a problem with the front suspension. The car sways when I drive it, not alot, but you can feel it. It kinda rocks side to side at higher speeds. I also have the infamous clunking sound, but that I know how to fix. I am pretty handy with the car, I replaced the headlight assembly, oxygen sensor, air filter, pcv valve, plugs, some bulbs, fuses, fuel filter, etc. I did some seraching on the internet and haven't found anyone with the same problem, so I guess maybe my problem is a little unique. Just a little backround info on the front suspesion: one of the stabilizer links is missing, and the other is shot. The tires have a nice amount of wear on the insides, due to the fact that the car was driven alot before it was aligned properly. I was told that stabliliser links help the car on hairpin turns, and are not so critical to the front suspension. I don't really think that is true, but if someone in this forum can enlighten me as to what they do, and where to get them for a good price that would be much appreciated. Basically, the car sways when I drive, and I do not have the steering control that I should when I drive the car(at higher speeds(i.e. 65-70mph), the car will pull/jerk to the other direction on turns and curves) Oh, another thing, the steering is very loose, but I think that's b/c of the steering rack, which may not be worth replacing. If you know otherwise, please tell. Thanks, Elazar
  13. I have a '94 ES300 and had no problem picking up a new fuel filter for it at my local Autozone.
