Why can't you just repaint it? Go to your friendly auto parts place and buy a small aerosol can of black lacquer. Then mask around your door and spray it on after lightly sanding and preparing the old trim pieces. It's a heck of a lot cheaper than replacing these pieces. Or, if you have some extra $$, then have a body shop spray it for you. In any case I'm sure it'll look better then it does now. :)

A little story: Years ago, while I was rebuilding the engine in my 1940 La Salle( that was a baby Cadillac for all you youngsters that never heard of this car), I was in a pit trying to remove the connecting rod bolts, using a ½ inch drive snap-on socket. It seems that I kept splitting open the sockets because of all the intense pressure to break these bolts free. It ended up that I had to use an acetylene torch to heat up the bolts, red hot, then smack them with a hammer, and once again use the socket wrench to loosen them. The motto of this story: DON'T use a torch if you are going to reuse the old bolts since the heat will remove the temper of the steel and weaken them. The upshot: I had to go to Cadillac parts and buy all new connecting rod bolts(16) which cost me a lot of money, of which I had very little since I was a poor student. End of story.

Oh well.......

The 'light out' sensor works on a resistance principle, and automatically resets after turning your ignition key off and then on. If the resistance is not within the parameters set by the manufacturer, then that will trigger the indicator light to come on. The problem is due to bad bulb(s) or oxidation in the bulb socket. A contact cleaner should resolve this conflict. :)

Local banks can be as much a hassle to deal with as is PayPal. Every transactional situation can be different. If PayPal is so bad, then why is their membership growing at such an astronomical rate? ;)

Then DON'T use em!!! I've had 1000's of perfect transactions with my PayPal account over many years, and I expect to continue using them in the future. Besides, the interest rate on my account balance is higher on Paypal then it is any one of my other main accounts, so I'm considering a shift to them also! <_< P.S. I don't know why you continually bash their service.....they operate like every other bank I've had the pleasure to deal with!

From the day I bought my new '94 ES the fan would always turn slowly when starting the cold engine. If you would turn on the climate control it would speed up. This slow turning is normal, and would speed up automatically when the coolant temperature rises.

I don't know why there should be any "hassles" when trying to close a PayPal account. I have done this in the past very easily!! I find them a very professional company to deal with. :chairshot:

Your Lexus salsperson should be taken to the woodshed and thrashed! I bought my ES 330 here in Virginia for $28,000 including a end to end warranty, taxes, etc. It is completely loaded with every option imaginable. The dealer is fantastic and provides me a free carwash/cleaning every time I take it in for ANY reason. This is the best car I have ever driven and my Passengers love it because this is a well designed PASSENGER car. The best way to make sure the car lasts is to treat it well. With you warranty and service contract take it to your service at each 2500 mile intervals. They will clean it, wash it, perform warranty and reg mantenance at no cost to you. When I lived in VT, I drove 35,000 miles without blinking an eyelash. In NE the car needs to be cleaned more often because of salt, corrosion and below zero weather. Let the dealer keep up the vehicle; if anytrhing goes wrong THEY give you a FREE loaner. What could be any easier? If you ever visit DC, come to Pohanka Lexus in Chantilly and drop in and get set for an experience in people first. ACK ← Wow!! 28K for a completely loaded '05 ES330? If I drove down to your dealer, could you get me a similar deal? I'm ready to roll.

Army- Is that a new link, cause it works fine through Windows Media Player. I really felt sorry for the poor tires.......they certainly won't last very long with super burnouts like that.

Did you check your ATF fluid to see if it's up to the full mark?

On the '02ES and up there is an indicator light on the dash that shows the lights are on. It may have this indication on earlier models, but I'm not too sure. Edit: Oops, after reading the previous post, it was mentioned about the light on the dash.

What year car is your ES? I don't notice that problem with my '03, and I wear a size 12 sneaker.

When an auto manufacturer specifies a tires speed rating it's figured by the cars speed capability. That's why I'll always get a "V" rated tire. I'd rather be safe then sorry. IMO. ;)
