  1. I think it would be slightly faster then my ES. :D
  2. Wrong! New car manufacturers are required to have auto leveling devices on HID installed cars. It really has not been proven that HID lighting systems are safer. http://www.mrtraffic.com/HID.htm
  3. Simply, because it costs more. ← couldn't they just raise the price more? It's only like a good k more, right? ← Every penny is figured out in the manufacturing of an automobile to keep the selling price competitive. Upgrades, such as HID's are not necessary for a large percentage of buyers, so it's sold as an option. The HID's requires, ballasts, auto leveling motors, and more expensive xenon lamps. Therefore, any upgrade, such as ABS brakes systems that a manufacturer makes has to be weighed very carefully. ;)

  5. What year ES are you talking about?
  6. After one of you guys try the update........lemme know how it worked out.
  7. Good idea, not sure why I haven't thought of this. I guess that's why there forums are so important. Thanks again !!!!!!!! ← That's a good idea, except the power to the cigarette lighter & Power Adapter socket turns off when the ignition key is turned off. :) You would have to find another way to keep the power flowing while the battery is disconnected.
  8. I'm just wondering why you think they're not HID's? Sometimes it's hard to tell by looking at a picture the intensity or color of a light.
  9. If the nav unit you have is anything like the GX470 unit, your right, its not user friendly. I consider my a quick learner concerning computer & electronics, and seldom have to open the book on operating a unit. I found that reading the book on the GX470 NAV (and all the car tibits for that matter) is a must, and once you do, while practicing with the unit everytime you drive, itll become easy and enjoyable. It is an impressive unit with lots of capabilities Ive found. ← Agreed. As they say, "nobody was born knowing", so read, read, read. :)
  10. ........and I expect to visit each and every POI. :D ← I don't go many places LOL ← Well, come on along for the ride. LOL :D
  11. By the way: Are all the cars listed in your profile yours, or are you just a rich kid??
  12. ........and I expect to visit each and every POI. :D
  13. Yes, I bought one years ago. It sort of smells like a new car, but I bought a new car instead. You can't beat the real thing. haha :P

So, where are the Lexus pictures?
  15. That's very strange. When I upgraded my DVD disc in 2004, they claimed that the new disc had over 5 million POI's compared to 2 million on the older disc. Here's a quote from Lexus on the '04 ES330, "The DVD map database now contains more than five million points of interest (POI), compared to two million before." Seems to me it's the same amount on my upgraded disc. ;) ← Who's gonna need that many anyway ?!?! LOL ← I paid for 5 million POI's, and I want them. heehee :D

  17. I disagree about the POI's, since that's determined by the DVDrom and not the computer.
  18. Try here> http://www.alldata.com/TSB/31/03310306.html TSB line #3 or #26
  19. This is caused by warped rotors. Either have the rotors cut, or have them replaced. At 30K miles the pads should be replaced also. In other words, a brake job. I think that there was a TSB for this problem in the '03 ES, so maybe you can convince your Lexus dealer to do this under warranty. ;)
  20. Gee.......and I was about to send you a big box of Chocolate Chip Cookies.
  21. Does this mean that the compressor always runs on the LS regardless of the settings on the climate control? Is there a switch that you can turn off the compressor like there is on an ES?
  22. I don't get any harshness when the compressor cycles on or off......in fact I was amazed by how imperceptibly it is at these cycling's. Sometimes when I'm listening for this, the only way is to look at the tachometer for a small fluctuation of the needle.....but it doesn't affect the idle smoothness in the least.
  23. I'm very surprised that the newer NAV system can only memorize 5 previous destinations?? The NAV system on my '03ES can memorize 100 previous destinations! By any chance did you get the CDrom disc from a Lexus dealer that explains your NAV's operation? Using this disc makes learning the NAV system simpler than reading the handbook. All you do is put it into your computers CDrom drive and up comes pictures and explanations.
