  1. As says in the '02 to '05 ES brochure: "Heated seats require leather interior and are not available in all areas."
  2. Consider yourself lucky. LOL
  3. I resent that remark! There are dishonest people all over this country. :chairshot:
  4. I would never buy a car on eBay, unless I could see it in person! There are too many factors involved. I would like to drive it, check the engine, look for previous body work, and in general, see if the car was well cared for, both interior and exterior. You can't tell from pictures whether the car had water damage, also tire conditions, brakes, etc. It's too big a purchase to chance all these things.
  5. I'm just interested in finding out whether your repair invoice had any TSB numbers on there for the work done to your car.
  6. No doubt that this was probably held outside, under swaying palm trees and hula dancers. :) I'm jealous. Good luck pops with your new car, and welcome to the club.
  7. I love when a new member starts out on the wrong foot! :chairshot:
  8. It also controls the horn honking volume when you press the Lock button on the key fob (or key itself on the newer keys). Turning the volume all the way off was the first thing I did when I picked up my car. ← Incorrect! This little knob only controls the volume of the beep and has absolutely no effect on the volume of the horns. In fact, Lexus's don't use the horns at all to indicate locking or unlocking. B)
  9. Look at the spoiler on my '03 at the bottom of this post. I ordered it painted from spoilerdepot.com and had it installed by my Lexus dealer. I originally saw it on steviej's car and I liked it better then the Toyota spoiler that my dealer uses. It has a LED brake light built in. The spoiler is the same on '02 thru'05 ES's. http://www.spoilerdepot.com/Catalog.asp?A=...ModelTemp=&idB=

  11. we have misunderstandings, its not the end fo the world. alan, if there is any advice you feel you need to give me, PM it to me, while im still open to heeding it. LOL. ← Naw, no need to.....everything was aired out fully. I still respect the opinions of all involved. :)
  12. Wow.....with all this repartee going on tonight, I missed my shows on cable. I had to be tuned in here. Glad that All's well that ends well. Alan
  13. Steve- I totally agree with your above post. I have been driving about 60 years with everything from tractor trailers, tow trucks, army vehicles, motorcycles, etc, etc. I'm aware of certain conditions that will deteriorate as you age.....even though I still think I can drive as good as ever, I'm definitely aware of this and take this into consideration. Thankfully, in all this time I've had only 2 minor accidents and mucho parking tickets. :) When I was in my early 20's I was a charter member of the Long Island Timing Association, which sponsored Police sanctioned drag meets, auto modifications, auto shows. There were no such things as Skip Barber performance schools, but we all learned from the experienced members who drove in the Bridgehampton auto races on Long Island. (1950's) If you're interested you can read this book that was published last year> http://www.arteauto.com/press/pressreleaseoctober2004.htm All in all, I feel, with age comes wisdom in all experiences in life.
  14. Read my previous post! :whistles:
  15. Check out this page: http://www.alldata.com/TSB/31/04311317.html
  16. Don't kill yourself doing these tests, it isn't worth it. :whistles:
  17. I gave you the TSB number in my above post. (NV004-04 MAY 04 Interior ) Just tell the Lexus dealer this number, and they'll do the repair necessary. They also have these listings in their database of all TSB's as applies to Lexus automobiles.
  18. There was a TSB for these type rattles in the '02-'03 ES 300's. There is a strong possibility that this problem continued into the '04 model also. I had it in my '03 and it was repaired by my Lexus dealer. Update: There was a TSB issued for your year car: NV004-04 MAY 04 Interior - Rear Door Trim Panel/Seal Rattles
  19. Just remember that tinting will also affect your night vision! ;)
  20. As steviej said, that power outlet is the same voltage(12VDC) as the cigarette lighter. You can plug in your laptop without any problems. ;)
  21. Check these out>http://www.weathertech.com/store/vehsearch...opt_choice_id=0
  22. Genuine OEM replacement batteries on Lexus's are NOT Interstate batteries.
  23. I agree, if you can rid of this car that has caused you mucho aggravation right from the time of purchase, it'll make you a much happier person. I remember that you were dissatisfied right from the start. Start fresh and dump that dog! :whistles:
  24. I don't think you'll even notice the power gain by just polishing the inside of your manifold. I've had this done on carbureted cars years ago, and it wasn't worth the effort. IMO
  25. If you jiggle the shift selector will the lights come on? If it does then the backup light switch is out of adjustment or just plain bad.
