  1. I honestly believe that this problem was due to the transmission design and nothing else, since the drive by wire was not changed in the ES350, from what I've been told.
  2. Thank's SK- You're 100% right.......I couldn't love a car anymore than this, especially after all the suffering I had with the tranny on my '03ES! Even though you might not be in the market for a new car, if you get the opportunity to drive an ES350 do it and you'll see what I mean. :)
  3. Why would you want to chance getting a summons. Is it really worth it.....or are you a born scoflaw? :whistles:
  4. Thank you Steve for the good wishes. :)
  5. I DON"T want to de-activate the bag! I love the looks of the wooden type wheels however! Did the Es in 95 come with a wooden type wheel? I think the wooden type wheels on an ES were started on the 2002 model year.
  6. Here's a test writeup from a Canadian publication which talks about this wind noise> http://www.metronews.ca/column_drivers_sid...16474&cid=11779
  7. I think about 50mph plus, but I'll make notes as to the exact speed this occurs.
  8. Have any owners of the '07 ES350 noticed a slight wind noise coming from the "A" pillars? I was kind of surprised about this and wondered whether they'll have a recall for this minor problem.
  9. I think their complete website is down. That might be due to the old guys at AARP resenting those remarks. :P
  10. Yeah.....I always wanted to see what you guys look like. :P
  11. This sqeegee effect is very normal on new or good wiper blades. Nothing to worry about. ;)
  12. I'm sorry I can't tell you about the disassembly or reassembly on your model Lexus since I was talking generally about window motor failures. The majority of the repairs I've done was many years ago on GM and Chrysler vehicles. Ideally, if you can get hold of the Lexus shop manual this type repair should be included. Maybe a nice Lexus repair facility will let you look at the book, since it's pretty expensive to buy. Also, check eBay to see if you can get a good deal on a used book or CD of this manual.
  13. Did you get the Owners Handbook for the operation of the Navigation System? If you didn't, you can contact Lexus and they should send you one FREE!! In the meantime you can go to this site which will explain the operation of your unit. http://www.lexus.com/assets/navigation_sys...d/lexus_nav.htm
  14. Steve- Stare deeply into this picture and keep saying to yourself, buy it now, buy it now, buy it now.
  15. Just think Steve........If you bought it sooner you could have the whole summer to enjoy it. LOL Signed: Alan the impulsive one
  16. I don't think it's a good idea to let your tank get so low. I try to refill when my tank reads ¼, otherwise it'll pick up alot of crap in the tank. ;)
  17. I did notice that the 350 had a slightly stiffer suspension, but in no way did that affect my opinion of the ride quality. I liked that. The auto sensing wipers worked better then on my '03, and the mist feature is very handy. I know you like the silver - black color combo as I do(or did), but I really wanted something a little different this time. So many more people are complimenting me on these new colors I chose, compared to when I first got my '03. My last 3 Lexus's that I've owned had black leather, so this time I wanted a brighter looking interior. I just hope I don't regret that decision...dirt, stains, etc. You might have second thoughts about the clear bra, because if it covers the sensors in the bumper the park assist might not work properly......just a thought. Also, I swore that I would NEVER put on the 3MM stuff on this car as I did my last one since it caused me more grief then it was worth. I'll go into detail about this if you choose. I like the Michellin tires. They still feel good after 250 miles of driving. LOL That's all I can say at this point since I'm sitting home with a bad cold and I haven't driven my lil beauty for a few days. s**t! :cries:
  18. Actually, these motors failed because of lack of use. The internal parts such as the commutator became oxidized. All I needed to do was to disassemble the motor, then burnish the commutator and voila, you once again had a working motor! Oh well, I guess the word rebuilding is a no no in this day and age. :cries:
  19. It makes the car go. So when I want to come to a stop at a traffic light, I should take the key out of the ignition? :P You only take your key out of the ignition when you go for your daily dose of Latte at Starbucks.
  20. Very strange....I didn't know there were any electrical connections on the power steering components?? Please explain what wires were eaten.
  21. Wow......I thought the engine was going to blow up from all the stresses! I'm impressed.
  22. Sounds to me like a defective window motor or a broken wire within the RR door.
  23. 2002 to 2006 ES's seem to have this problem. In fact I started bitching about it from the day I drove my 2003 ES out of the dealers. After all the moaning and groaning through the years nothing really helped. I thought that the latest ECM flash corrected the problem, but I was wrong! I decided to trade in this dog and it was the happiest thing I've ever done. My new ES350 is a constant joy to drive with none of the hesitating, lagging or whatever. It's a shame that I had to live with this crap for my 3 years of ownership, and traded it in. Once again I look forward to driving a car.
  24. The problem is with your alternator, which is most likely not distributing enough power to the headlights component. You will have to get the alternator checked out at a service shop and see if it can hold a normal charge. It's the job of the battery to hold the charge, NOT the alternator! Therefore, the first thing to check is the battery condition. If the battery isn't in top condition, you'll notice the dimming of the lights more. Have your battery 'load checked' before you blame the alternator.
