  1. Gas just went from $3.69 to $3.65 this week. With my 2010 ES I can get between 18-19 mpg around the city, and about 24-26 mpg on hiway or trips around one hour or less. Longer trips yield around 29-31 mpg. I am consistantly using 89 octane, 10% etanol. Can't tell any difference in mpg. Price per gallon is $3.65 If your one who thinks that Obama controls the price of gasoline, read this weeks "Time" magazine. Article. "Homegrown oil isn't going to lower prices at the pump"
  2. It sounds like you may not be to much of a do-it-your selfer, and as Dave said, it is probably the original battery. Have it replaced and drive on in confidance. Paul
  3. A big welcome to eveyone. Enjoy your membership to the LOC. We look forward to your contributions. Paul
  4. Demand to talk to the General Manager. There is no reason why this situation should not be covered. You say you can't prove their not right, how can they prove THEY are right. If this were the front windshield, this situation would be more plausable. If nothing else, your auto insurance should cover the repair. Paul
  5. Hey Kristen, welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. Great ride and thanks for sharing the pics!

    Hello

Hi Steve, and welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. Sounds like a pretty odd problem. Who did your windshield work. I would go back to them and ask them to fix the problem.. Even if they have to take it to the Lexus dealer for help, ir still should be the installers poblem. Paul
  7. Unless I missed something in reading your missive, there is a tremendous difference in ride and comort based on the specific tire, not just brrand, Within any tire manufactuers offerings there are dozens of selections that may work on say a 2010 ES350 , but on my personal car I have found only one that gives me the comfort, and specificaly the smooth ride that I demand.. The tire is Michelin Primacy. I use 32 psi. Paul
  8. Steve is right on re: the Parchment interior. On my 2010 ES the carpeting on the sides of the console are a light chocolate, while the floor goes to more of a tan. The carpeted mats are the same Tan color and really do not show dirt easily. What I don't like is the color of the winter/rubber mats. They are dark brown, and ugly. Every car seems to be a game of "spin-the-bottle"
  9. Hi Lexi, and welcome to the Club. Please list the model and year of your Lexus, along with some pictures if you have them! Paul

    Tuneup

Hi Hasan, and welcome to the LOC. I think you've answered your own question.. Given the number of miles and the age of the car it is not surprising that it may be running less than ideal. (You didn't mention if you have any service records.) i.e., plug change, etc. Just take your car to your Lexus dealer, my choice, or a reputable independant shop that works on Lexus or Toyota. It maybe just some normal maintenance that needs to done, Let us know what you find out. Paul
  11. The 2011 would be my choice for sure. In 2010 the ES350 went through a "refreshment" and new trim and looks were added.. It really updated the looks of the interior and exterior. With a CPO added to this 2011, you would have a one year old car that is still in warranty!. For peace of mind sake, and to protect your investment, remember you can only get a Lexus CPO from the Lexus dealer.
  12. Hi Kelly, welcome to the club. I'm not exacly sure what you mean by chrome rims. To my knowledge, Lexus didn't make a "chrome" rim/wheel for the 2010 ES350. There was the stock OEM spoke alloy wheel and I believe another style of alloy wheel. What is not widely known is there was also a third factory option made only for the 2010 ES350. It looked like the classic sports car wheel but very up to date. they were a $1250 option. I have a pair on my ES and I have neve seen another Lexus with them. They are polished but not chromed. Some dealers during the 2010 year, to add a little newness to their inventory were having the factory wheels chromed on their new inventory. Maybe you saw one of those. Paul
  13. Hello and welcome to all of you....we are trully a global community and each has something to share. Paul
  14. Congratulations on your LS. You should look forward to many years of enjoyment. Also, welcome the Lexus Owners Club.
  15. Congratulations and welcome to the Lexus Owners Club.. Enjoy your new ride. Paul
  16. Remember, these comments are from technichians, who when given new technology, are as smitten as you an I. On the other hand, since their the ones who have to fix them when something goes wrong, it is only natural for them to look at all the possible weaknes's as well. As for the warranty covering the cost of repair, it dosen't cover the amount of hassle factor involed.
  17. This is a pretty common request, and by doing a search you'll find a lot of informaation which should answer all your question. If not, come back and let us know what you need. Many of us discourage makeing this switch for a couple of reason. It may look better to have the fog lights and head lights look the same color, but in doing so you actualy eliminate the function of the fog lights. The warmer color temp of the present fogs, make them shine through snow, rain, and fog, much better than the cooler HID colors. Also, there has been some talk about one specific bulb that works the best, but all of them have a short life. Paul
  18. Had a conversation with a local Lexus GS 2013 tech regarding his first imprestion of the new car. His number one concern was the hurrendous reliabilaty and replacement cost with all of the new technology. Specificaly the dash instruments could be great, or like some first year edition's, could be a night mare. It is my understanding that the whole panei has to be replaced when something goes wrong. The tech who does the alignment, hates the fact that Lexus is putting Dunlap tires on the car. He claims they always wear on the inside and are impossible to keep in alignment. Just a few tid-bits.
  19. I'd like to know the answer to that as well.......? I guess I'll assume he means it can not be replaced.
  20. Welcome to the LOC. If the graphite doesn't work, check first with your dealer for a reputable lock-smith. It could be a problem with the brake-ingnition iinterlock that locks up the steering wheel, or the tumblers in the key lock. Paul
  21. I'm pretty sure the ES350 did not get the USB port until the 2010 edition. At that time, it was placed in the center console, on the front, interior wall of the space. It was labeled as such. 2010 was the year Lexus did a refresh of the ES and some of the newer features were added. Paul
