Since filling the 22.2 gallon LS 430 tank with 93 octane premium at its premium price gives you nothing in additional performance or MPG, many drivers with a mind toward economy opt to use a mixture of 50% 93 octane premium and 50% 89 octane plus to achieve the desired exact 91 Octane at an overall lower pump price. For additional savings another option is 65% 93 octane and 35% 87 regular which yields a 90.96 Octane blend which will not knock, trigger the knock sensor and !Removed! the timing with the resulting reduction in performance and MPG. I currently get the same 30 MPG with A/C blowing at 70 mph on the highway with this 35%/65% blend as with 50% 93 octane/50% 89 octane blend while enjoying a $2.27 net savings per tankful. I have made and use the following chart to aid me in achieving the desired 65%/35% blend when refueling the 22.2 gallon tank, pumping premium first! 1/4 tank.............3.66 gal. premium 93 and 1.86 gal. regular 87 1/2 tank.............7.32 gal. premium 93 and 3.74 gal. regular 87 3/4 tank............10.98 gal.premium 93 and 5.67 gal. regular 87 full tank............14.64 gal. premium 93 and 7.56 gal. regular 87 Enjoy!   2. Probably the best method is to drive it with a scanner connected and look at the live readings (get someone else to drive while you look at the scanner) and see what goes offline (e.g. fuel pump relay, battery voltage, etc)

  3. Well i am not seeing much economy gain, it should give atleast 350 Miles in a tank full..... regardless i noticed two big things 1.) Check engine light gone; occasionally it comes on but most of the time after cleaning MAF its gone for good 2.) Smoothness!, gear shift is much smooth and overall acceleration is smooth noticeable difference! Next stop oxygen sensor replacement

  4. My general thought on the chipping of the glass was it didn't really matter as much as you think. It's actually an extremely thin copper trace sandwiched by two pieces of glass. So even though you don't have a clean, flat copper surface exposed like on the flexible cable portion the liquid circuit writer will be pushed up against the glass sandwich and thus the microscopic trace in there. At least that's my theory. :) I spent 1+ hours trying to chip glass to get a flat trace under there without any luck. Only a couple of the chips resulted in enough copper where I could get the tip of my multimeter to get a signal. I then gave up, did the circuit writer pen, baked it under a 60W bulb for a couple hours to dry it, then tested everything and it was good. You do really have to wait a long time for it to dry and become conductive, particularly if you put it on real thick.

  5. You can look at your service receipts to see if they checked that the battery was checked and when. If you want to make sure it doesn't happen again you can buy a can of NCP-2 battery corrosion preventive, and brush it on the post. Look on Google to locate some, it's about $12 for 4oz that much would last years. Of course the battery on the LS is not easy to uncover.

  6. From a 2002 model and everything was working perfectly wjdm it was pulled. I will sell for comparable price that you can find on ebay. 200.00 plus shipping? You let me know if that is fair and if not we can negotiate. I would just like to sell it so that I can get it out of my kitchen. Lol. Thanks. Linda
