I haven't heard of a $20 chip, but many of the ambiguous HP increases that you see on Ebay are scams. So foul the MAF sensors and some only foul the ECU to keep your car in Performance mod or keeps your transmission out of OD.

There may be some members that have tried some of these and I am interest in hearing anyones experiences as well.

Awhile back someone's friend bought some crap off ebay and he said it work'd and that there were some gains.. But with something like that, you don't know what it's gonna do over time.. I'd stay away from companies that you never heard of and be weary of people wanting to make a buck regardless of what the final outcome will be...

I ran across a Jet Chip for my 93 GS300. The process is you send in your factory ECM and they reprogram it. I haven't called yet, but wondered if anyone's heard of them? They want $321.77 for this. ;)

Here are just a few examples of some possible ebay "chips".  I'll probably get one just to see if it really works, lol.

"adjustable chip"

"20hp Intake Sensor Mod"

anybody tried these?

My opinion= Junk, Snakeoil. Try a intake upgrade, exhaust upgrade, supercharge, turbocharge. Real upgrades = real gains.

haha...nice way to put it...i agree with the other people on this board. those are most likely a rip-off. if you want some horsepower gain put a cold air intake int ur car or change out ur exhaust system...point is spend ur money elsewhere rather than throwing it down the drain with these crap chips..

It is not a scam it works. But not with Toyota intelligent ECU's which remap according to a sensors new data stream.

It is basically a 3 cent resister in a big box .

It has been done for years on my cars and works well.

But over all it is nothing anyone can do it themselves for almost free.
