There has been a few posts on this lately, I always use premium 92-93. I don't care what others do/say when it comes to fuel. The owners manual states to burn premium. Welcome to the club

Well it all depends, what sort of driving do you typically do?

If its all highway 18 is low, but if you do a lot of driving around town 18s about right.

And yes, you should burn premium in the LS430.

during winter and driving in the city, i get 12 mpg:)

and im not complaining, i only use premium gas. on the highway i get 22-24 mpg tho.

Agreed. When I had a commute that was about 60% city 40% highway I got about 18-19 mpg. Now that it's all city driving I'm lucky to see 18; 17 is more likely and during high traffic times I've even seen 16 mpg.

Also I think using lower octane gas may lower your mileage in the LS...i use premium.

I bought an '03 LS 430 w/30,000 miles back in December and I get about 16-17 city, 27-28 highway @ 75 mph, and 31-32 highway @ 60 mph. I use 93 octane.

i drive 2 miles one way to work:)

its really cold here now so it takes a while to warm it up. this is why i get 12:)
