Toysrme
http://www.phonescoop.com/ + forum http://reviews.cnet.com/Cell_phones/2001-3....html?tag=glnav I love my new LG8300. You can unlock it with the 0000 code so it plays mp3's & do afew other neat little changes. The LG8500 "chocolate" can play wma's & mp3's, but it can't be unlocked & unless you're paying for music through the verizon hicky, you can only import WMA's. So basically... That leaves the VX8300 as the only verizon phone that will play mp3 files with any ease. Regardless of what you get her. If it has the ability to play music, plan to buy a Micro SD card off ebay & get your hands on a USB phone cable, or a card reader capable of reaidng the micro sd card. The phone will be essentually useless as a music player on internal memory. 2gig cards are still around $100, so I would buy the cheapest 1g micro sd card you can find. Should come out around $25-30usd shipped on ebay. Either way, don't buy her a Razor, or anything that looks like one. It'll be a social disaster. While they are descent, solid little phones. Everyone & their brother has one. The LG forum @ phonescoop http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/m_forum.php?ff=

jpeter2338
From what I understand, you can download your own music (from cds) onto the Chocolate, using the music essentials kit. Am I mistaken??
wnrussell
From what I understand, you can download your own music (from cds) onto the Chocolate, using the music essentials kit. Am I mistaken?? It's a great music phone, but don't plan on uploading your phonebook to the car with Verizon's crippled model.
lexus411
theres a Verizon phone that finally works. According to Lexus.letstalk.com the chocalate does pretty much everything. I just set up a Verizon LG 5300 phone for a customer and it downloaded #s 10 at a time.
