  1. I do. I just don't mind it, and I clean and condition at least every 6 months, plus it's charcoal colored so it isn't that bad. Maybe the reason for it is that we do have to slip down to get out of the vehicle, unlike ur Chrysler LX which was a car, you don't slip down to get out. We just have to live with it. Enjoy the vehicle as long as it doesn't have any mechanical problems, which is what your $70,000 paid for. ;)
  2. steviej Not really familiar with the Coach edition of the RX and ES, but I think RX330driver meant was that the actual leather in the LS was made of Coach leather like the handbags but he was wondering if his RX or any other Lexus vehicle has this kind of leather or a different, possibly cheaper leather.
  3. Well here's my paperwork that i scanned and edited because the guys at the 4Runner forum are having nightmares in trying to get their clunk fixed.... P.S. Notice the other work i had done on my GX, WEATHERSTRIPS.
  4. Also breaking in will give you a better shot at a better MPG in the long run. ;)
  5. Sounds like a dealer I would never go back to. Isn't there another dealer like within a 20 mile radius from where you live? I remember that my dad had an experience, not as extravagant as this, with one of the Honda dealers. He had his 92 Accord taken to the dealer to have an A/C installed (yes it was the most basic accord at the time, and since we came from Missouri to Ca, I'm guessing we didn't need an A/C in Missouri???). It wasn't the best workmanship, but like 2 weeks later, the radiator overheated! My dad claims (well I was small then and didnt understand anything about cars yet) that it must have been the dealer's fault or something because he had that checked at another Honda dealer in town, that said that the other dealer didn't properly install the A/C. And we got the same hand-washing excuse "Oh it wasn't our fault. It probably was time for it to go, and the A/C just made it kank out sooner". But I think the best way to avoid problems like these, is to have some sort of "homie" with one of the SAs. You get to express yourself more, in telling them how to take care of the car, and when there is a problem, fist fight isn't an option in dealing with it. ;)
  6. Make sure to UPS some of that food over at my house so I don't have to cook. lol :P :D JK. I think my mom and I are just gonna eat out. What a Thanksgiving, only two of us! Back years ago, we had our old neighbor (from our old house) we invited to eat out, but since there was an issue of something that ended the 13 year friendship, this Thanksgiving feels a little bit lonely........ <_<
  7. Civics homework, Physics 2 day test next Wed and Thurs, clean ALL 3 CARS including waxing and vacuuming. That's practically my turkey weekend. My family doesn't really celebrate this, not because we're against America's culture but because my whole family is back home in the Philippines. Besides my dad is actually leaving tomorrow, Wednesday to pay a visit back home because it's my grandma's 90th Birthday on Tuesday, which is obviously a BIG MILESTONE and I wouldn't mind giving up Thanksgiving together with my dad so that he can celebrate the 90th bday. :) That's my "Thanksgiving" to be thankful for.

  9. It seems pretty clear to me, but apparently not to everyone else. Allow me to reiterate. No more posts about political correctness or Asia or whatever in this thread, if yall want to discuss it those topics further, start a thread about it because any further mention in this thread will be deleted. Thanks. Or don't even start a new thread about it, if you guys wish to discuss it more, take it to the PMs. I'm sure you guys wouldn't want this thread closed, and surely NC wouldn't want that to happen too.. ;)
  10. But it's not as good as the spray. Next time you get a loaner RX or even the ES, try the windshield washer and experience how truly spread out the spray is with the spray type washer. :)
  11. Bob, just curious, is there a particular reason why you're trading in ur 06 Gx for an 07?
  12. Ok let's drift this thread back to original topic. NC, have you caught a turkey yet to cook? You never know when one of us might be in the area and would want to eat at, (cough) ahem, see your new house. :D Haha. j/k. You must be having your family over for the holidays this time because they must all be excited to see your new home. ;) B)
  13. unfortunately no. I feel bad we don't have it, and when i get loaner RX330/350s they have that spraying winshield washer everytime i play around with them.. <_<
  14. Are you trading in your 06, or buying an extra GX????
  15. The article does mention.... "The trucks involved were produced between January 2000 and August 2005 and all sold in Japan. None were exported, he said." And it says "None were exported" so everyone's safe,
  16. I've heard of many stories like this. Here's a couple of them...... This one involves the BROKER's SON of my dad's real estate company (which means, $$$ isn't a problem). He used to drive a 98 Isuzu Tropper and when he was going to get married, wanted to get a GX as a marraige gift for his wife. So he walks into the local Lexus dealership here in Fresno, at about Jan 03 (The GX first came out in Dec 02). Since the GXs that came in didn't ever sleep for more than 24 hours in the showrooms, he was looked down upon. He came in one day, in his Trooper, wearing casual clothes (T-*BLEEP* and shorts, sneakers) and asks to look at a GX. Sales person said no because they're all pre-sold and can't be touched. So he was *BLEEP*ed. He ended up buying one in Oregon, where they have a vacation home there and that's where the wedding took place. THAT right there, is a big mistake of the salesperson. Another one is one regular Japanese guy. He walks into Fresno Lexus also and wants to test drive the LS430. Sales person (I'm guessin, i just heard this story from someone) said that it wasn't possible. So he went 100 miles south to buy not only 1, but 3 Lexus vehicles (not sure if they were all LS430s). So this Japanese guy comes to Fresno Lexus, driving one of them, and I think he did mention or someone mentioned to the salesperson that this Japanese guy bought 3 Lexus vehicles. Bad mistake. I've heard of this one. A poor guy walks into a Mercedes dealership and asks to take a look at the most expensive Benz in the showroom. The "senior" salesguy didn't pay attention to him. The newbie approaches him, even though he THINKS the guy won't buy. Think again. The guy had about $100k cash that he won from the lottery and wanted to buy a Mercedes because it was his dream car. Imagine that, the newbie won a jackpot because the "senior" sales guy rejected the so called "poor guy that looks like he can't afford".
  17. I'd second that. When I bought my GX, they were coming with three different brands of tires..the Michelins, the Bridgestones, and Dunlops. The Dunlops seemed to be the worst of the three in terms of wear and troubles. I've been happy with the performance of the Bridgestones that mine came with, but the Michelins would be my first choice. The bridgestones aren't too bad. I have the Duelers on my 4Runner and I sooo wanted Cross Terrains on it but the dealers didn't want to exchange tires with different units even though most of them have the optional 17" rims. :chairshot: But I like them because they feel soft, but I'm seeing myself at the tire store at about 30k miles, I'm guessing? My GX has 47k on the Cross Terrains and so far, it doesn't seem to wear off. It's not as thick as a new one, but relatively it's still thick, maybe about 45% left still on it. :D
  18. That's the dealer's discretion. I don't pay any fees, as long as you don't smoke in or soil the car too much
  19. my dealer doesn' t use any IS as a loaner anymore. Only RX's and ES's <_<
  20. The previous owner probably didn't do a balance and rotation on a religious basis. Have your alignment checked to see if it's still ok just to be sure. If you plan on getting new tires, I recommend the Michelin Cross Terrains. :D
  21. That is unsure..... because I think they've discontinued the TSB for the moment. I feel bad for the 4Runner guys.... they never had a shot at this TSB. <_<
  22. No offense, but I personally like the design of the current C better than the redesign. They're trying to shape an S-class design into a small C-class car. :P
  23. I know they're metal. What i meant by metal to plastic are other parts (i.e. bumper, some interior stuffs) but the moral of the story is as i mentioned, they're not perfect vehicles. Yes we pay a lot to expect a lot. If you had about $225,000 would you go out and buy a Bentley Flying Spur? Those things, yes look nice, but I could only imagine the quality in those. No consumer reports on those, and plus there are only a handful of dealerships and mechanics that can work on the car. And wouldn't you complain if there was even just ONE LITTLE rattle in a $225k car? Just remember, "Passionate PURSUIT of Perfection" ;)
  24. Manowits, No car is perfect. Yes we made the decision to buy a $50,000 Lexus, and not a 4Runner and Sienna combination that equals about $50,000 also. But remember, products nowadays are not made to last as old cars. They used to be metal, now they're plastic. It's a business thing. They don't want you to just buy once, and keep the car for the rest of your life. Yes, we pay a lot but these cars only have a limit and a certain life. That's why it is the "Relentless Pursuit of Perfection" or "Passionate Pursuit of Perfection". ;)
  25. Well as far as I know, my mileage is about the same when i was computing it when prices were over $3 a gallon. Since now it's down to about $2.25 a gallon, I haven't computed my gas mileage lately.
