  1. Be proud of your LS. You worked hard for it and people don't need to know what you paid for it. They are just jealous of your success. You are a smart consumer, buying a superior product - not a status symbol.
  2. I had the same problem with my 98 LS at 81,000. The right front rotor was .008 out of round, I had it cut and the problem was gone, Try this first its the cheapest place to start $24.00
  3. It sound like it could be a dirty cabin filter. Check it out ,It made a huge diffrence on my 98 LS.
  4. I just had the starter replaced in my 1998 LS. It cost 855.05 to have it changed at the dealer. Sounds like the same problem I had.

  8. Ihave a 98 LS400 AND I HAD TO DO THE WORK ALL FROM THE REAR SEAT. JUST PULL UP AND BACK AT THE SAMETIME ON THE LIGHT COVER AND THEN YOU CAN GET AT THE BULBS.
  9. Great job!!! Thanks for the help!!
  10. Ask Meist21 about his 98 LS 400. He is 6'4" and fits in his fine.
  11. I had mine replaced on my 98 LS 400 at no charge thanks to the insurance company. Check windshield wiper alignment especially on the drivers side. So that it's not set to low, it will make a banging noise at high wiper speed. The arm will hit the stop in the middle of the hood. Good luck
  12. It was the total for parts and labor. It sounds as if it is the same type of job that why I took it to the dealer.
  13. I just had the starter replaced on my 98 LS 400 (82000 miles). The total bill for the dealer to replace the starter was $855.55. Ouch! They replaced it with a rebuilt starter and gave a 12/12 warrranty. I was too lazy to try and do it myself.
  14. Had the same problem with my 98LS400 after I had the windshield replaced. The driver side wiper is mounted too low on the spline for the wiper arm.
  15. check air pressure in the tires, this car is at it best at 120 mph, It sounds like too much air
  16. Turtle wax makes a black wax that works pretty good for just that reason
  17. I bought the Bridgestones for my 98 LS, I think that they are some of the best I have had! Great in the rain
  18. I'm a break specialist, do not use the raybestos ceramic pads. They will warp the rotors in less than five thousand miles. Try using the Acebono (question spelling) the formula of the pad is a much better makeup than the Raybestos on the rotors. No warping.
  19. I have a 98 LS 400 that has the same measurements, It's uncommon to see all year of LS's do this. It drove my nuts at first but you can over come it! DON'T PUT THE ROD IN THE SPRING!
  20. It was talked about by someone who was able to hook up the side marker lamps located right next to the driving lights on a 98. Can the person who posted the conversion post the directions? Mainly looking for wiring and how to drill out the actual lens to accept a bulb. (right now the hole is filled. Thanks much in advance. Looking to do the same thing but I cannot find the person to contact.
  21. I have the Bridgestone Turanza LS-V's 225-60-16, Sorry for the missed info :chairshot:
  22. Craig, Ihave a 1998 LS 400 I just bought the Bridgestone Turenza 225-60-16 V rated for my car they are some of the best I have ever had! The car had toyo's on it when I got it, they also where very very soft poor in high speed long sweeping curves. The bridgestones are much better in all ways, no road noise and still a excellent ride! I payed $127.00 per tire at my local Firestone dealer pluse mounting.I run them at 35 PSI with no trouble at all in the wet, much better in the wet than the Toyos! Good luck! Jeff
