I think the Genesis is a better car than the ES for sure. :) If it weren't for the name, they'd be more popular.

It "would" work, but i don't think it would be worth it. It only takes a few minutes to reset everything.

The 010 Subaru Outback is a great looking vehicle- but still, it's a "Subaru". It's probably a lot of bang for the buck, but it still has that "Subaru" badge. It's like the case of the Hyundai Genesis. The new Genesis flagship is incredibly good looking, has all of the same features you'd find in the LS and BMW 5 etc... and would probably last just as long as the Lexus. But the name. It's the name! It's hard to justify spending big bucks on a "hyundai" when you can spend the same for a "lexus". Not because you think it's any lesser of a vehicle, but because of the name. When paying a lot for a car, part of that is the name, we all know it <_<

Has anyone applied any products to the surface of the dashboard, such as armoral? If the dash is shiny then there will be a lot of glare. Try cleaning the dash with a 6:1 solution of water to woolite on a cotton cloth. This will remove anything on the surface and bring back the factory matte finish.

Is this post even serious? I have never, ever heard anyone call those "power ports" anything besides cigarette lighters. Man, some people on this site are so picky and argumentative. +1 !!!!!! lol

That is odd, since the LS is basically the opposite of the sporty BMW he's in now- the BMW is tiny and fast, and the LS is big and luxurious lol. <_< I guess if i drove an IS for a while i wouldn't complain about moving into a BMW 7 at some point :)

Sounds like the Infiniti's self healing clear... I researched the infiniti clear for a while (wanted to get some to clear my wood steering wheel with...) and apparently it's not as nice as it sounds. After 3 years or so, the clear loses it's 'healing' powers and becomes a pain in the bum to work on... Maybe in 10 years they'll develop something like this that'll last longer.

Hey guys, I've been wondering, is the GS450h a big lexus seller? I've never actually seen one on the road, which is odd since i spot Lexus' like a hawk. And this section of the forum is for the RX GS and LS hybrids, and there haven't been many posts about the GS hybrid. I really like the GS450h and was wondering if there's a reason they "appear" to be so un-popular...

I think Lexus should have just made another generation of the ES, in hybrid Maybe make it a little faster and less "girly" looking, and i think it would be a good seller.

Why is that the LS and GS models seem to depreciate faster than the ES and RX for example? Yes they're worth more to begin with, but it's the percentages lost per year that are so stunning...

what is this gel pack thing? Is it the piece that goes between the rain sensor and the windshield? Without it, the wipers will go off randomly, and not go off when you need them... Ran into this issue after replacing my windshield...

Congrats on the new car! Post some pics of it <_< And don't hate on your LS, it was 17 years old... When it hit 10 years it was pushing the envelope :P Things will go wrong with any car of that age. And you've got to remember that the Pontiac and the LS are at two totally different ends of the spectrum. One's a luxury fleet vehicle and the other is something of a sports car... The mileage will be different

Ohhh it's for your wife? that's a totally different story. If she's gonna be the primary driver, you gotta make sure she likes it so she doesn't complain to you all the time :P Bring her to the automall, show her around Lexus, Infiniti, BMW etc... I doubt she'd go on her own, most women won't :(

I've never heard of it before, and i doubt many dealers have either (so they probably haven't listed them on that site). I use autotrader.com and cars.com. Autotrader's search tools are awesome.

You're basing your car purchase on your mother in law? :P Just kidding... Go with something you can wake up everyday and not say, "ugh why did i buy this??" everytime you look at it. Go with a nice looking crossover like the RX or Infiniti EX or FX, or even the new Cadillac SUV. Will you be driving it much? Will it be a daily driver? Will you keep the IS and trade in the Nissan, or trade in the IS for it? If it's going to be your daily driver, make it something you can live with. Going from the IS to a minivan seems like a big... change. And the Toyota Sienna's do come with HID's as an option, along with the darker wood (i've seem them). Maybe discontinued for the 010 year, but they are in existence. If the 010 Rx's weren't so fugly they'd be my pick. I'd look at the Infiniti EX (although rather small) or maybe a pre-owned 07-08 Rx400h <_<

AND, if you have the repairs done under Lexus and the repairs fail and ruin an entire piece, you'll have leverage to have Lexus replace the parts entirely if they can't be fixed again...

The harrier hybrid doesn't use the DVD?? Then rest of the Lexus/Toyota fleet uses the DVD why would they switch it for the harrier? Wouldn't it just upgrade via satellite then?
