  1. after reading autopia, you can keep your rightlook. Not many say anything great. Average products....I will take CG, danase, JW or clearkote here. Even FK is not bad. In some apps, you want fillers. example, if you are selling your car the seller is not going to waste $$$ on correcting the paint... Fillers have there place shown..Once you do this for years you will see the benefits (on both sides).
  2. I like my heat gun but a hair drier will work
  3. Using a gasoline with a higher octane rating than your engine requires gives you no benefit at all...none. The only benefit is to the gas station you buy it from. NO GX would gain any benefit from using anything higher than 91 octane. Those of us with pre 2005 models don't really even gain anything from using higher than 87 octane. ding ding!
  4. ...joke...
  5. There are other products just as good, if not better then rightlook.com. When people start stating websites, I wonder since there are many good products out there when you use enough. Fillers are good in some apps; it depends on what YOU or the customer wants. If you are selling, you do not care......For me, I do not like but again, it depends on the app. Based on the topic, fillters are the easy way to go
  6. -jcrome04 As noted before, nothing new here.
  7. Try OC or OHC on the headlights...
  8. Wet-sanding will not be good for paint. Bird "stuff" will, not can eat the paint and most times nothing can be done. You have like 48 hour window then it is all over unless you have a good wax/selanat on it. Then add like 1 day to it.
  9. Looks nice, but white never shows wetness etc.
  10. FYI, try a 0w-20 instead of 5w30. Mus better in synthetic land.
  11. DING DING! Ammonia is bad...I use clearkote.
  12. CRC for the MAF is fine. I was happen you did not say seafoam here. Is the engine cold or hot?
  13. I do not watch cars going in a circle over and over and over and over...........It is like paint drying..LOL
  14. autpoia is THE best site for products, applications, etc. Been there for years....they do not help LOL
  15. Tech's in my eyes are like engineers. Just doing it for the money and do not care. Most are hacks and do not care. I know in houston I get worse service then up north. Maybe $$$ related or not. Then again when up north clowns put cherry smell in a leather care...they suck! For me, best person to work on my car is ME or my buddy (does this for a living on real trucks). If we cannot figure it out, it cannot be done.
  16. yup, and leaking (as you should see)
  17. I have Silverstar's and HIDS in another, Silverstar's are not ever close to HID output. Being said that, you need to be smart on applications.
  18. Here is one, if the car is built as it should, why do you need a Warranty? I say it does not.
  19. 385 pages for this? LMFAO...People need a new hobby..
  20. Looks wet! Keep us posted on longevity! Just a FYI, this is like crack here. Try other products and see what happens. Try JW, Clearkote, Optimum, swisswax, CG, to name a few. Also Autopia is the BOMB on car stuff. Love the place.
  21. I do not understand it. I have used a rotary for over 12+ years. When used correctly, it will NOT create them. If they create swirls you or the users is not using it correctly and thus should not be using one. That is why some new detailers think they have to worry. If you are worried, you should not be using it. I do not, again NOT worry about burn-in, damaging paint, anything since I know how to use it. I have used a cyclo and it will again not correct a car as fast, that is a fact. I know this since I tried it several times on several cutomers cars. Paints with hard paint a cyclo for me is not worth the time. Lexus's paint is very soft and it is easy to use anything from machine to by hand. I was also going to buy one but it was not worth my time/month. Time is money with cars and a rotary is well the time when again people want there cars done ASAP. Plus if I can fit 2 cars in (cyclo) or 3 (makita), well that is a no brainer. One is an extra $200+ on a saturday. I also do not get that you can be a professional detailer when you think wax cannot be layered also. It seems you are fairly new in the area and I strongly suggust you do not use a rotary till you have years under your belt.
  22. You said wax removes wax and cannot layer it, that is incorrect as I noted before. Just wondering if you are auto detailer why are you asking about the wax harden issue? This is basic detailing 101 and every detail person would know this. Plus the wax over sealant is nothing new. Again same thing. You need to wait to harden before applying a LSP. This is why people pay you over $200+ to do a car I agree it (price) is not always integral to wax quality but it again depends on what you are putting it next too. I tried zaino before and still stand by it is not worth what they get. No, sealant will last 1-year. Not gonna happen with a daily driver. It is hard to fine durablilty, shine, wetness, gloss and longevity all in one product. And most times not. You know wax is not a sealant right? Your second paragraph seems to state they are the same...With waxes, for me, higher price = better quality. I tried enough to know. But a $15 wax is nice but lasts like very short. CG5050 has outperformed all waxes I have tried. And outperformed is not based on how long it lasts either. In the Texas sun, that says a lot. But if your $25 works, keep using it. Based on the products I have tried JW wins (for sealant), hands down. But that is me. Price is lowest I have used based on about 25 to 30 DROPS to do a car. Shine is great, no bonding with any other LSP and no app issue in high heat or humidity.
  23. If you wait till the wax is hard, it will not remove it. That is why you wait 24 hours between coats. And you can wax over sealants; that is nothing new. Just need to wait till sealant is hard. When I put Cg5050 over JW AJT I wait approx 24 hours. If not, you will have slight bonding issues (aka longevity will be poor along with shine, gloss and wetness etc). I have gotten over 4+ months of Cg5050 wax in the Texas sun. If you have a good wax not full of junk like Nattys, it will last. I have gotten between 6 to 7 months using JW in the Houston Sun. Some guru's on wax like Scottwax have gotten around the same in Texass. As with oils, same with wax, you get what you pay for. You pay $15 for wax it will be much worse then a $50 wax. I will be getting a $200 wax (Swissvax Concorso) next month. See how it looks. Will post since I wait to see if it is worse the money or it will be like my go-to product CG5050 If you want to learn about waxes etc, go to autopia and read for hours. The place is a gold mine. Been there for years.
  24. I still have NGK Iridium's and used Denso "I" last time. But I have to agree with Toysrme on this one. You replace them every 60K miles and why spend $8 to $11 per plug when $2 will do the same. Normal NGK are OEM and will work just fine. That is me though...
  25. try doing a search since I know this has come up before. I just cannot think of the answer.
